Child porn? It's a glimpse of an undeveloped genitalia in a context that nobody in their right mind should find sexual, a computer-generated game texture of a fictional character no less.
As bizarre and perturbing as it is for this to exist in the game files of a terrible Half-Life mod sold for a price that consists of two digits even in pound sterling, responding to this in a manner that treats it as anything more than a manifestation of the developer's laughable incompetence is foolish by itself, and at worst, just as exploitative as the shady business practices of this "game".
Depending on the country, even fictional children would make it child porn.
Did the "proper version" get released yet?
Depending on the country, even fictional children would make it child porn.
not when it's literally just a texture and not a depiction of a sexual act

So the update that's supposed to release the actual game will contain... load time reduction, reduced size and a tutorial level. Can't wait for the next round of shitposting.

I'm almost certain it's that.
the ONE thing that I liked about the game were the reloading animations. were they developed for the game or stolen from somewhere?
The reload for that gun with the folding stock and big optic looks stolen from Payday 2.
edit: they added a new MP5 reload several weeks ago, which is the one I think was stolen, shown here. But I think they updated the reload again in the recent update that changed the difficulties in PD2, which it may be instead.

i honestly doubt anything is actually stolen from pd2

I thought I heard the running pistol animation was stolen from PD2.
I thought I heard the running pistol animation was stolen from PD2.
Not possible, no one knows shit about PD2's animation format and we can't extract or add animations in that game.
I thought I heard the running pistol animation was stolen from PD2.
i heard a lot of stuff too. only a fraction of that is true
not to say the game hasn't stolen shit for sure but just because "someone said it" doesnt make it remotely true. if you're going to accuse then i want to see side-by-side comparisons or anything resembling actual proof. im sick of the misinformation

True about having actual proof and misinformation. Apologies.

The first person animations were done by Rancor 12, you can find his reel here.

Head over to 1:05 of the video and you'll see the MP5 animations for Hunt Down the Freeman. To summarize, they aren't even close to what was shown in PD2.
I thought I heard the running pistol animation was stolen from PD2.
And this is how this stuff usually starts. Not to snap at you, but we're getting so much misinformation about stolen content and its just making the community look bad in general. It takes much more effort to take another game's animation sets and then slap them on for your own use as opposed to a simple model swap. Now, they can do that with some work, however, there is a weapon in the game that utilizes a completely different arm rig than the one seen with the other weapons. I don't think they have the aptitude or knowledge to pull off something like animation stealing if THAT is still there.
Informative
PD2's new MP5 empty reload looks fairly similar imo because of the HK slap, but thanks for the info
I guess if I were Rancor I'd take it as a compliment if people were saying my animations were stolen from Payday 2, considering the game has some of the best firstperson animations I've ever seen.

The Payday 2 lead first person animator left Overkill and they're getting worse now lol, they had a whole better first person animations update and it seems like they will slowly be replaced.
(the first one is the older one, second is the newer one)

Oh I didn't mention this but PD2 has grenade launcher with a slap in the reload and I was probably confusing them.
edit: looking at it the slap for the grenade launcher is different as well, a big left to right motion so I was wrong again edit2: wrong about the slaps being similar, probably did confuse them
edit3: Actually I doubt I confused them as was sort of trying to make an excuse lol

From what I understand, Payday's animators use Blender.

The program they were created with =/= the format they're stored in in-engine.

FUCK NO!
Can anyone give me a wireframe view of the HDTF revolver?
[t]https://imgur.com/3pcG2PY[/t]
https://imgur.com/3pcG2PY
Fourth barrel from the bottom, second grip from the top ; i did model it last year for a Payday 2 mod that i gave only to a bunch of people before sidelining for other reasons.
While in that picture the front sight is different, that's only because i did made them swappable and that happened to be set on at the moment of this old screenshot

I don't think it's yours.
I can't make a gif to compare, but here's the HDTF version and an approximation of that version made with your parts, roughly lined up. If you open both of them and flick between the two, you can see a couple of differences.

[t]https://i.imgur.com/FjEyim4.png[/t]
Here's the major ones I can see:
[t]https://i.imgur.com/NTS7FGU.png[/t]
- The frame under the rear sight is a little shorter on yours, and the sight hangs over more. The sight also doesn't look quite the same.
- The rear of the frame is a little different, I didn't mock up the grip but the shape of that back corner is more pronounced on the HDTF model.
- The front of the frame and the shape of the crane are noticably different.
- The centre pin for the cylinder looks to have a fairly flat front end on the HDTF model, whilst yours is rounded.
The cylinder latch also doesn't look to be quite the same shape, but it's hard to make out on your version.
Just my two cents.

Thanks for the mockup, gotta agree, thankfully it's not my model
I'm honestly doubtful that the HDTF weapon models are actually stolen. They're way too low-quality to be from anything like Payday 2 or Killing Floor 2.
This video gives a fairly good look at them. I hadn't seen them all myself untill now. The USP is actually worse than the default HL2 model.

What the hell is that .45 cal animation?
What the hell is that .45 cal animation?
It's a single hand brass check ; it's a move you can easily see in John Wick 2 during the museum fight (Wick performs it after picking up a 1911 from a mook)

Approx 02:41 runtime
About that USP...it looks more like it started life as some sort of Glock then the modeller went for an USP midway through
And excluding the USP,the models aren't actually THAT bad,but the "Materials" texture are pretty inconsistent, and the lightning doesn't interact that much with the normal maps (if they have any)
It just looks like someone took the default HL2 USP and re-modelled it in higher def, without fully understanding what a real USP is supposed to look like.
The hammer is all you need to look at to see that. The regular HL2 USP just has a non-moving hammer awkwardly poking out of the back of the frame with nowhere for it to go, just like that one.
