Appreciate how even how terrible the script or voice acting was, he still managed to make the cutscenes not so bad.
Yeah, I remember the cutscenes being the only part of it that people praised.
I've said it before but I would have actually quite enjoyed watching some zany spin-off half life short film made in SFM, even if it had the over-the-top edgy plot of Hunt Down The Freeman. That's what the idea originally was and it would've just been so, so much better.
I mean who wouldn't love a MGS-inspired, corny romp through the half life universe with Adrian's disabled brother? It'd basically be a more hardcore and watchable version of Full Life Consequences and we'd all be singing it's praise.
That's the thing, HDTF was made with a serious tone in mind. If it was made with the full (or at least partial) intention of being something silly, over-the-top and self-deprecating, it would have gotten a lot less flak. Never push against the tide!
im still kind of shocked they havent attempted to bring down the price since the start of all this, if anything it was cheaper at launch with the discount than it is now. they might need to cut it considerably and hope like hell they can break even after several months/a year or two basing their sales on the "so bad its good" reception
