The G-Man immediately appears outside the window to briefly observe Adrian shortly before the final Marines board the Osprey behind him which then takes off safely. The Osprey is not attacked and destroyed by Flyers. That's right, I'm taking this time to call out you "Adrian's evac is destroyed" conspiracy theorists. This falsity has been perpetuated for years, and I'm going to put an end to this tomfoolery right now once and for all!

It's predictably going to be as painful as the original demo in their previous attempt, but hopefully they've improved… Hopefully. Don't take my word for it.

Have to give the guy credit he actually went out and finished a game. More that can be said about Valve.

I skipped to a random point in the demo video, and the player was wielding what looked like a katana. It was then that I knew this game was shit.

I bet they're going to put their own version of half life 2 beta enemies into the game, because of course. We're going to see a Creamator that uses an actual flamethrower and not a weird acid/energy weapon, and he'll be a shocktrooper enemy instead of a janitor. Calling it.

This is what happens when you don't understand the source material at all and try to write an edgy self-insert fanfic where your character is badasser than the original protagonist

His ego is so destroyed he spends his life and an entire game trying to track down Gordon, who doesn't even recognize you from the other hundreds of people he's killed, only to fuck up in some comical way at the end which prevents you from ever fighting Gordon. It just sounds like something you'd see in DayHard or some other comedy mod.

I....almost want to like this mod. But the tryhard, edgy dialogue combined with uninspired characters, "borrowed" assets and out of place character models makes me wonder how they can charge for this, much less think they can get a distribution deal on consoles. This mod either needs waaaay more time in the oven, or shelve it entirely.

G-man's voice actor seems alright. He "Sounds" like G-man but he doesn't "Talk like" G-man. Not enough pauses/sentence fragmenting or enigmatic pronunciation and ambiguous word choice. Bit too much emotion in his voice. Breen's V.A. sounds nothing like him. Like, at all. I mean I could tell he was supposed to be Breen but he did a shit job at sounding like Breen. For storyline, a far better storyline would be the protagonist being a member of the Combine, (Starting out as Civil Protection before the uprising and slowly working his way up to an Elite.) and a theme of losing one's identity/humanity. (Early on having second thoughts for a bit about bashing some citizen's head in for a petty offense as a CP, and doing it because another member was watching, and ending with blind loyalty to the Combine and carrying out orders as an Elite, tasked with terminating Freeman.) Nothing about G-man, but just a mindless soldier carrying out their orders. That would be a far better story than what they came up with. I see no point with the protagonist still wearing an HECU uniform.

There's no point in saying how the story could be better. Unless the story in the trailer is the polar opposite of what the game has to offer, literally any other one-man writing team could do better than this.

That one cutscene of the soldier is just absolute nonsense, like it has no context, no set up, none of what happens has a logical flow and to top it all off, what actually is coherent genuinely felt like it was written by an actual child. I have to stress that last part, I don’t even mean that as an insult, it has the actual writing problems someone just leaving elementary school would have
