I hope this actually gets released though. It would be a shame if this gem doesn't at least get out.
Oh god it has those horrid scopes that people make when they don't know how optics actually work.
pretty much everything in that 7 hour war bit was a left 4 dead asset
there were even the shitty ragdoll low-resolution dead bodies from l4d1 lmao
Looks like this might be kinda fun to play,
just not 25 usd fun to play.
im starting to think that this mod is a farce and a small part of a much grander scheme.
The developers are spending all this time on a fake mod just to tick Marphy Black off.

It'd be an okay mod, but I dunno who the fuck would pay money for this.

Probably a naïve little COD player?

i plan on biting the bullet and playing through it, possibly getting very drunk in the process depending on just how terrible it is.
I love the idea of some poor employee at Valve being forced to test this game.

Some Valve employees are probably feeling personally confronted right now. After leaving Half-Life sitting stale for so long, this comes along for them to test and they're forced to see what the face of Half-Life very well may become due to their inaction.
Then, HDtF is gloriously blocked by Valve and Half-Life 3 is announced the next day.

Not sure if anybody else pointed this out but at 18:00 that factory is just a straight map rip of an old ZS map with a few tweaks like lighting, decals and props.
I could swear I've still seen some assets elsewhere before.
Also big fucking thumbs up to making pointlessly large maps and having those bizarre aliens use combine soldier AI instead of something unique.
One of the APC models is stolen from csgo and I'm 90% sure they won't have permission to use it

Dude I can't wait to play this, it looks so awful it might be great

I can't imagine the level of intoxication you'd have to reach just to make this game even slightly bearable.

Yeah, that's my friend's map who was also credited as the lead level designer. Another one of his maps is in the trailer, scrap metal.

HDTF isn't how you tick Marphy off, you do that with something like this
This video isn't canon, however, as it suggests Adrian's adventure doesn't begin until Gordon is in Surface Tension (39:06), which would be the second day of the incident. This is clearly false, though, as the soldiers disposing of corpses into Black Mesa's canal system lament that they've been given these undesirable duties because Shephard's unit was already lost by then, an event witnessed by Barney all the way back during Duty Calls mere hours into the first day of the incident (9:08). This means Adrian had to have crash landed well before that.
Also, this uses Half-Life: Source footage, which is heretical, and Black Mesa: Source sounds on top of Half-Life footage, which is double heretical, combining together to form an unprecedented display of octa-heretical heresy.
why would you wear night vision on a perfectly visible night with a full moon.

Is the music in this trailer supposed to be a takeoff on that track from 28 Weeks Later?

There's a fun conversation.
"Do I haaaave to?"

my shitty gmod addon does better lmao
better watch out that they don't try rip that too

I'm pissed off by that video because it completely skips Half-Life: Decay as if it doesnt even exist, which the person could've used to accurate pinpoint when Shephard wakes up, and his adventure begins somwhere between Barney escaping and Freeman getting captured before being thrown in the trash compactor
Also those combine forces that (I think) were supposed to be combine guard look awful
Actually, I have a hunch that they were trying to recreate a HL2 Beta combine synth elite soldier, with the lore of the alien combine soldier, but with the head of a combine alien assassin with no mask for some reason. The synth elite got recycled into the combine guard, so who knows maybe they're just combining every beta combine thing they think is cool into one enemy.
If anything, this mod has made me thumb through Raising the Bar again, and had a lovely nostalgia trip.
Which has larger empty maps, this or E.Y.E.?
Which has larger empty maps, this or E.Y.E.?
This. At least E.Y.E. had more built for a purpose that wasn't an edgy 16 year old's fanfic.
I like how they went through the trouble of animating a hefty overhead sword swing and when it gibs the antlion at 1:23 it still makes the generic cardboard/plastic moving sound from HL2

Plus the antlion gibs weren't retextured to be all blueish-white like the antlions themselves :v:
The fact that this shitshow keeps getting delayed is giving me serious blueballs. Can anyone recommend me their favorite Source mods?
I've already played the everloving shit out of DayHard, Get A Life, Underhell, Nightmare House 2, Half-Life 2:Substance, CSS SCI-FI, The Stanley Parable, Terminal 7, Research & Development, Mistake of Pythagoras, Das Roboss, and Ravenholm. I think I've still got a few to run through, but their names escape me.

If you haven't played Minerva, Mission Improbable, or Transmissions: Element 120 yet, those are definitely worth checking out.

If you're counting standalone Source games then I have to recommend INFRA, it's a puzzle/exploration kinda game I absolutely adore, it's got amazing atmosphere and uses all custom assets so you won't be running into HL2 crates every minute, which is a huge plus imo.
Also one of the devs is a facepuncher :v:
I've highlighted this somewhere before, but those scars are, from what I can tell, the result of being beaten in the face with a crowbar
All things considered he's done a bang-up job at recovering. I would've expected like, a caved in skull or something.
