It was a very sharp crowbar
His rage and quest for vengeance healed his more traumatic wounds. I wouldn't be surprised if he paraphrased Joshua Graham's quote: "I survived because the fire inside burned brighter than the fire around me."
:snip:
I personally wouldn't only be alright with this thing had it been a free mod (with proper authorization from the actual creators of the assets it's borrowing/stealing), I'd even find it at least somewhat neat. I just don't understand what the creator's thinking trying to sell it, nor do I understand why shit like this is continually allowed to be sold at all. [editline]17th February 2018[/editline]
You guys should go through the discussions about this game on Steam. There's some fun stuff like this: http://steamcommunity.com/app/723390/discussions/0/3377008022020037263/ Apparently they bought the map off the OP of that thread for $5. He was told it was going to be a free mod. Now he's mad and wants his assets removed.
The fact that there are people supporting the ""developer"" while shitting on the people who have actually created the things he's just nonchalantly grabbed is giving me an aneurysm
I cant bring myself to purchase this. Granted it has some interesting ideas, but the points I'd bring up have already been touched upon by others. Sparse level design, aesthetically clashing models, "borrowed" assets and modders getting the runaround, it's sad that a project like this is near completion with a pricetag, when I've seen other promising and more deserving mods bite the dust. I mean, I can appreciate the effort to make something this grandiose for a single player mod, but it's again, a mishmosh of assets from different sources wadded together with chewing gum and rubber bands. it looks "canned" rather than "crafted".
The fact that this shitshow keeps getting delayed is giving me serious blueballs. Can anyone recommend me their favorite Source mods?
Riot Act is a single player mod I replayed again recently. It has very few custom assets and has a relatively short campaign. But it's a neat little side story and in my opinion feels like something that would have been in the base game ie. an expansion pack if it had a bit more length and polish. I definitely recommend it.
Depending the price, I may buy and record a play through
Depending the price, I may buy and record a play through
Pretty sure it's still $25
I'm totally going to play this and I'll have a blast, though, probably not the way the developers intended. This story is like something I'd have made up when I was 13
Pretty sure it's still $25
Ah, I didn't know the price originally, so maybe not haha though just for lols I may still do it
Depending the price, I may buy and record a play through
As J Hat said, it's $25. Confirmed by the devs here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/723390/discussions/0/1699415798772829824/
As J Hat said, it's $25. Confirmed by the devs here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/723390/discussions/0/1699415798772829824/

Pretty sure it's still $25
Oh well, gonna wait until it drops to $2.50 then
What do you think the likelyhood of the game including stolen assets will be?
What do you think the likelyhood of the game including stolen assets will be?
I'm curious what valve would do if/when they play test it and notice this shit, would they straight up remove it from steam and take legal action or notify those that made said stolen assets?
I'm curious what valve would do if/when they play test it and notice this shit, would they straight up remove it from steam and take legal action or notify those that made said stolen assets?
The best case scenario is probably the game getting removed and the creator getting banned
I'm curious what valve would do if/when they play test it and notice this shit, would they straight up remove it from steam and take legal action or notify those that made said stolen assets?
When you see how many asset flips make it on steam without Valve caring, I'd say nothing will happen.
When you see how many asset flips make it on steam without Valve caring, I'd say nothing will happen.
Asset flips bought the assets tho, Hunt Down the Freeman using stolen assets would get it removed. That is a lawsuit waiting to happen.
It was a crowbar with two knives duct taped to it. That's something I'd genuinely expect from this mod
Honestly this mod would be improved if they did that.
As J Hat said, it's $25. Confirmed by the devs here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/723390/discussions/0/1699415798772829824/
I bought Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice on sale for less than that, and that didn't lazily steal from other people.
After browsing the discussion pages:
Our story is worth the price tag.
I swear, each I read more into this mod/standalone, the crazier it gets. The Stanley Parable is probably the closest thing we can compare to this once it's released, and that's a pretty high bar. Anyone willing to start betting the discussion & reviews will be heavily censored come release?
What is this? Is this the FakeFactory Cinematic Mod of 2018?
It can only dream of being that cool. [T]https://i.imgur.com/6ESAgzQ.png[/T]

Less than 21 hours until this bad boy comes out, boys.
alternatively 20 hours until it gets delayed again
Less than 21 hours until this bad boy comes out, boys.
I'm going to be actually surprised if this thing actually comes out tomorrow. But on the other hand I'm so ready to see more "wer gor-don" dialogue.

According to a dev post on the discussion page, it's been confirmed that they plan to release today. Honestly, if it gets delayed again I'll be very disappointed, as I am very interested to see what a $25 worth of story is like.
Inventory System HDTF boasts an inventory system with many guns to chose from, managing ammunition among your weapons. If you run out of 9mm ammunition in your submachinegun, your 9mm pistol won't work. (How does this make sense???)
if you have to put an inventory system for your weapons as a key feature of your game on the store page then you might as well have put other basic mechanics like walking or fps combat.
if you have to put an inventory system for your weapons as a key feature of your game on the store page then you might as well have put other basic mechanics like walking or fps combat.
Reminds me of how Bubsy 3D tried to have extra lives as a key feature on the back cover of their game [t]http://www.mobygames.com/images/covers/l/291305-bubsy-3d-playstation-back-cover.jpg[/t]
if you have to put an inventory system for your weapons as a key feature of your game on the store page then you might as well have put other basic mechanics like walking or fps combat.
Honestly the about tab has quite a few these, they really tried to fill the box with " Interesting, Good things "
Graphics Time for a new toaster, we've added new higher resolution textures and high-poly models, pushing Source to the limit.
One of two things will happen, either this game is going perform like a tub of molasses or it's going to look like a low rate Black Mesa with average performance.
Cutscenes: Over 45 Minutes of cinematic cutscenes, creates the perfect taste to the story.
Okay, so they made movie clips appear using the ( as of writing ) unexplained soul orbs. Maybe at the time where cinematics were impressive to watch this might be an okay selling point. However these days many games already have cutscenes to the point where mentioning them at all is moot.
Parkour Mechanics: Climb, scoot and crawl around your enemies! HDTF did more than leaning when you run, Its pride and joy is the parkour system. Falling more than ten feet doesn't mean death anymore.
First off, " Scoot and crawl " ? Those aren't free running moves. Scooting is when you move while sitting, Crawling is laying yourself flat onto a surface and using your arms and legs to drag yourself on said surface. The only thing that makes sense in this blurb is climbing, that at least is something you can do while free running.
Characters New faces, new voices. It's time for a new cast, featuring some prominent multi-media celebrities.
Well you know except maybe Gordan Freeman, G-Man, Dr. Breen , The Combine and their Cohorts / Servants and of course Adrian Shepard ( if the trailer is to be believed.. )
Inventory System HDTF boasts an inventory system with many guns to chose from, managing ammunition among your weapons. If you run out of 9mm ammunition in your submachinegun, your 9mm pistol won't work.
I mean some games do that whole shared ammunition type mechanic with their inventory system from Hitman Absolution to 2016, to games like Fallout : New Vegas. But again this stuff that already exists to the point that it's not even worth mentioning. I guess the only other reason to mention the system at all is to show boat the unspecified amount of guns that can be stuffed into a hard-disk. But even then how they described made it seem like a box that needed to be ticked. No mention of what they are, how they feel or how they look, only that there will be a lot of guns.
Rich story: A brand new adventure, a new protagonist, a new story, a new point of view. This is not a remake of a story that's already been told, it's a unique tale of a villain hunting the good guy.
So what does the box have to say about the story itself? - Welp, there's only one way to find out!
Just another mission, or so you thought… until aliens from another dimension start invading Earth before a scientist with a crowbar hospitalizes you after wiping out your entire squad. Just when you thought you were finished, a man with a briefcase offers you the chance for another beginning.

YOU ARE THE VILLAIN... Witness the pain of the villain firsthand

GEAR UP The player picks up the Machete of H.E.C.U Sergeant Mitchell, who finds himself in a hospital during alien invasion so called 7 Hour War. Mitchell is thrust into a battle of survival and is forced to face challenges to survive.
So right off the bat, either the Resonance Cascade was the first original problem or Gordan just went postal before all that, and just started bludgeoning people with a crowbar. So I guess while Gordan was having his day, some other guy just shoves the crystal into the laser starting the whole Xen invasion. Hospitalized, almost unlikely but not impossible, getting a visit from the G-Man? ( Spoilers in link ) No. So the main ( and totally original ) character has pain as supported by a image provided on the tin. The 3rd bit sounds a tad more interesting, in fact it would be downright fascinating plot line to follow if it were a well put together story. Looking at the box, it's quite fragmented trying to relay me some essential information. Why is the protagonist the villain? The only modicum of the actual story you could find is not on the About tab but rather the on the game's description. Which is a terrible way to introduce your game, since many people would like some elaboration or summary about what the game is trying to do, and these fragments just provide next to none on essential information about the plot. The About tab is awful, full of holes and filled to the brim of useless information. It's quite clear no one cared writing this tab, and giving me a clear hook to bring me in. If this were box, it would stay on shelves for quite a while.
Reminds me of how Bubsy 3D tried to have extra lives as a key feature on the back cover of their game [t]http://www.mobygames.com/images/covers/l/291305-bubsy-3d-playstation-back-cover.jpg[/t]
Imagine how much better Bubsy 3D could have been if it was given more time, or the team wasn't so incompotent and released a very untextured game on a system that's supposed to be on par with or better than the N64. …Black Messa indeed, it's a black MESS... ah. Them voice actors were clearly never told how to do the VA, because the inbred maker of Hunt Down the Freeman just wants his (or her) poorly done fanfiction full of stolen content thrown in.
