Gir's current profile is this: http://steamcommunity.com/id/hahfaggotyoulooked
and the aliases don't mention that name in the picture, and the alias-list shows 10 previous names, gir's profile has only 7 changed names so it cannot be him. :tinfoil:

I overwrite the name method. Name changes for me happen on the client side. Steam has no direct control over the client's name after the name CVar callback has been replaced.
I also did that on my FONV account, so even if I used SteamFriends->SetPersonaName(char*) it would've shown on my other account.
I love how people try to use name history as a proof for something. Get on my level. rDS level.

The amount of hackers who pull that card makes me actually wonder if it isn't some kind of excuse.

Actually, 23 accounts. But who's counting?

How does an account that only has the Deus Ex pack get a Source engine ban that has never played TF2 before? Riddle me that, Batman.

Maybe they found out that it was one of your alts because of how said Deus Ex pack was obtained? Same creditcard uses? Or said games being on the same harddrive? Just thinking of a few probabilities.
I wonder how hard you were beaten up as a child to find hacking and server crashing fun.

Doing shit to servers like that isn't cool, but neither is casually calling out abuse like that.
sorry

Hackers are no fun, they refuse (read: fail) to listen to reason and don't realize how unfun the game gets for others.

Isn't that the opposite of why hackers hack, though? They do realize that it makes everyone have no fun, that's their goal.

but they dont see that they are not having fun themselves
which drowns under the shallow sense of achievement of denying joy for others

When i were young and new to pc games a friend showed me an aimbot and we were laughing or asses of because of how it were killing everyone. When i got the game myself it wasnt really fun anymore and i thought its dumb, so i started playing properly.
I like screwing around with cheats online on Super Smash Bros. Brawl since there are so many fun ones.
You can change the stage music to anything you want, pick stages that aren't even on the list (like the homerun contest map and the wifi waiting room), and change the rules for the match. (like stock, damage scaling, and even forcing special modes like low gravity or stamina)
Not all hacking in multi-player games is bad!
