if you're on the internet and don't at least recognize the symbol of a few major currencies there's some prioritizing to do
the only logic i see is that most of his servers are EU so he'd be better off using pounds there

I'd say it depends on where the server is located. If it's hosted in a country where Euros are used, it should be Euros (or pounds if it's the UK) to make it look real (as some programs look at the host IP and judge on what currency to use) but I doubt an average TF2 player would think that deep to be honest.
