-snip tf2 was running in insecure for some stupid reason-
people who incessantly taunt after every ordinary kill and think theyre making you salty like nigga why do you think im mad? what are you trying to prove? I don't understand the mindset. the taunting doesnt even annoy me, it's how they try and justify it when I ask them why they even are. especially when they do it after you pull some tricky kill on them beforehand. like dude you got outplayed, aight?
technically it's working if you acknowledge it
Well with this stress test today I reached the milestone of having a 0/10 WL record. maybe one day I'll win a game.
Jesus Christ, I literally just killed by a crit from a lagging Scout, autobalanced, and lost the round. Why are you being so devilish Valve.
[t]https://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/e/e1/Soldier_Team_Captain.png[/t] Valve just remove this. It's not fun in any way shape or form to fight against.
I cant even remember when last time i saw someone with this hat on...
pyros who don't know that airblast exists. specifically when you're on fire and they stare at you as you burn. no pyro, i don't you to hold down M1 in my face, i need you to hold down M2.
pyros who don't know that airblast exists. specifically when you're on fire and they stare at you as you burn. no pyro, i don't you to hold down M1 in my face, i need you to hold down M2.
The moronic 20 health on extinguish doesnt fix the problem of the average tf2 player being incredibly selfish, and solo focused.
pyros who don't know that airblast exists. specifically when you're on fire and they stare at you as you burn. no pyro, i don't you to hold down M1 in my face, i need you to hold down M2.
on the other side of the coin, when you're trying to airblast someone on fire and they keep running away in the other direction until they keel over.
a big flashy icon screaming "PRESS MOUSE2 TO PUT OUT FIRE" over burning players would fix this once and for all... i mean, simmilar icon to that "press f to do partner taunt"
pyros who don't know that airblast exists. specifically when you're on fire and they stare at you as you burn. no pyro, i don't you to hold down M1 in my face, i need you to hold down M2.
I stopped expecting pyros to extinguish me a long time ago. I actually get surprised every time someone does that.
a big flashy icon screaming "PRESS MOUSE2 TO PUT OUT FIRE" over burning players would fix this once and for all... i mean, simmilar icon to that "press f to do partner taunt"
Making a phlog pyro have a bright glowy flamethrower, and be shiny team colors while taunting didn't teach scrubs to get away from him, so I fail to see how this would work either.
I had a similiar situation, but instead of m1+w pyro I had to deal with an experienced pyro with stock loadout. He could reflect projecties, but when I showed myself burning in from of him he didn't do anything,he just ignored me. And this is what annoys me,I did not require extingiush from a total newbie,I require a life-saving extinguish from pyro that can click mouse 2.
And even with the implementation of a reward system for extinguishing. Players still refuse to do so...Amazing. Heck, I see more less experienced players extinguishing than the more experienced players now.
on the other side of the coin, when you're trying to airblast someone on fire and they keep running away in the other direction until they keel over.
Then you get "PYRO WHY DIDN'T YOU EXTINGUISH ME!" in chat. BECAUSE YOU FUCKING WOULDN'T STAND STILL YOU MOUTH BREATHER.
Then you get "PYRO WHY DIDN'T YOU EXTINGUISH ME!" in chat. BECAUSE YOU FUCKING WOULDN'T STAND STILL YOU MOUTH BREATHER.
It is not excusable when you're running TOWARDS the pyro in question and they just stroll right on past before getting backstabbed\sniped\market gardened\etc.
It annoys me how I can't see shit when a pyro is facing me and I'm scattergunning him to fuck but his flames obscure my view, though I suppose there is no reason why that shouldn't happen. Also find it annoying that they can two shot me with a flare gun. Pyros are my least favourite class when I play scout. They give me more trouble than any other class, especially if my aim is off.
Pyros are my least favourite class when I play scout. They give me more trouble than any other class, especially if my aim is off.
Natascha Heavies. :suicide:
Natascha Heavies. :suicide:
I guess their hit slow down is very annoying, but pyros are quick so I find them much more of a recurring problem. Pyro flames also always just seem to hit me no matter how far off. It's odd.
Pyro flames also always just seem to hit me no matter how far off. It's odd.
The hitboxes and the particles do not line up in the slightest. Basically pyro is a broken and glitchy class.
The hitboxes and the particles do not line up in the slightest. Basically pyro is a broken and glitchy class.
Jeez, I knew it was bull shit. Thanks. It's particularly annoying as a scout because although you can run quick obviously you're fragile and vulnerable while fleeing (since trying to kill the pyro first is risky).
The hitboxes and the particles do not line up in the slightest. Basically pyro is a broken and glitchy class.
Holy shit I knew particles were wonky, but I didn't know pyro was this fucked up.
Also, the Dead Ringer is utter shit to play against. Has been mentioned before but I thought I'd re-iterate. The spy gets a chance to stab/shoot you and when it's your turn he just gets to fake his death and try again. Well, I say fake. It doesn't fool anyone and just creates a dilemma between the tedium of pursuing or the tedium of knowing said spy will be having another crack in 10 seconds time. Shite!
The hitboxes and the particles do not line up in the slightest. -snip- Basically pyro is a broken and glitchy class.
The airblast is also pretty wonky. Basically, the range changes on what angle you're facing. Skip to 2:43 for reflecting projectiles from behind you. Also, the airblast detection when airblasting players is apparently a cone just like you'd expect for projectiles, because reasons. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VflewO6lSI8 Second video is showing why projectiles sometimes fly seemingly randomly if you airblast when a teammate is in front of you - basically, airblasted projectiles redirect to the surface where your character is looking, and this includes player's hitboxes, also because reasons. So yeah, pyro is a broken class. Also, think I should mention that the channel that made both videos has a lot of similar interesting videos on TF2's game mechanics - definitely worth a look!
Nothing beats getting juggled by a FaN Scout at 300 ping.
every single time I try dodging properly (change direction back to where they least expect it), the guy hits me because he shot his projectile where I was rather than where I would go which means he would have missed had I ran in a straight line like an idiot. Which means I will never get good because I gotta play like an idiot to best people. It's hopeless. Everytime.
Holy shit I knew particles were wonky, but I didn't know pyro was this fucked up.
Sketchek did a fairly interesting text breakdown of how the flamethrower particles work and the best way to utilize them in various scenarios. I've been playing Pyro since I picked the game up in 2009, but I still learned a decent bit from reading it even though he said he "doesn't have a very firm understanding of this stuff myself".
So yeah, TF2 needs new hitboxes in general, but definitely Pyro's stuff needs a hell of a lot of work. Seeing it visualized, it looks like tech demo grade stuff that just never got improved.
According to the video, this was a special compile of the game because the base game does not allow visualization of these effects.
