During the last MM match I've noticed that the game forces me to play on r_lod -1. Why? What's the point? The hitboxes should stay the same no matter what LOD setting I'm playing on.
I noticed this too, and seeing the blocky models and weapons from a distance isn't very pleasing.
For some reason on matchmaking I'm getting way more of the "red head deathcam" phenomenon, i.e. when you headshot an enemy Sniper (or any other class except you stay alive) and they show up with a full bloody head because of your headshot. It's really annoying.
You mean shooting someone and having it show a blood decal but take no damage?
Yeah, exactly. It can happen on any hitscan class, but it's especially horrible on Sniper seeing that fully charged Medic running around with a bloody head.
Just got a beta pass from a friend. Bloody hell, solo queueing is WAAAAY worse now. I'm like the 1st rank and can't move up or down for mm, just stay in the middle. It sucks.
Medal system doesn't make any sense.
This is tied to results of your team and your teammates only, apparently the better entire team is it's harder to get medals.
This is tied to results of your team and your teammates only, apparently the better entire team is it's harder to get medals.
I was also the top scorer. and the only medic.

That's how it sound to me. Okay then I am wrong.
got a mm pass (thanks printme!) but every single game has been premades so far I'm never getting out of fresh meat am I Edit: also when your teammates have no concept of a combo please stop all running away from your med and feeding them one by one I'm almost considering playing med on tf2c/s
starting to hate ctf since poor play and getting killed really doesn't punish you at all. you kill the same guy 20 times and it literally does no effect to the objective progress whatsoever. any random clown can just touch a flag while everyone is busy on the other side and be mvp. cactuscanyon, my new home! I bet the finished version is going to be awful because of all the FPS drain. Blocky and unfinished visuals is actually a damn good plus when you think about it.
got a mm pass (thanks printme!) but every single game has been premades so far I'm never getting out of fresh meat am I
According to the comp stat screen I played 38 games and I'm still fresh meat. :pudge:

There's some bullshit people who decided it would be fucking PEACHY KEEN to make a service where they'll hack in MM games so they can "Boost" people's ranks. I had to fight them twice and when hackers are in play are the only times I find abandoning reasonable
Renim joins arena endif. Renim : loser i'll be back : lol direct hit is a shit weapon id rather not practice against people using gimmicks
Trying to get better is hard with people like this
Trying to get better is hard with people like this
That's pretty much mge in a nutshell, you'd almost be better off just playing pubs or playing on tr_rocket_shooting.
Trying to get better is hard with people like this
this has already been explained over and over
that probably doesnt make it any less annoying though?
the real "villain" in his story is himself. MGE was created for extremely specific situations around specific match ups and weapons involved usually found in comp games. If you face strangers you are expected to follow this. If you face a friend then go wild, who cares
Where are you supposed to train with non-meta loadouts then?
Either 2 options, he goes to pubs, where people have no idea what advanced movement is. Or he goes on some training map with bots that walk forward. Either way, we've reached a point where we may as well delete everything that's not stock, because we get scolded for using anything but. I guess people love routine so much?
how fucking imbalanced comp is, I keep getting matched into teams which either don't know how to play, or is spewing memes all over the place, against extremely co-ordinated teams with a sniper from heaven (or using hacks, hell do I know) I had one single balanced match and it gave me false hope, all the other ones have been so imbalanced I don't feel like playing anymore. I know this is beta but what's the point of matchmaking if all it does is throw every available player together ffs
I know this is beta but what's the point of matchmaking if all it does is throw every available player together ffs
To be perfectly honest, after living the glorious Dota 2 matchmaking dream for hours, if you guys think the TF2 competitive mode will improve the human material in each match, you are just deluding yourself. Hard.
since when does the detonator have a damage penalty what the hell is that all about? the inability to do full crits is already a damage penalty.
since when does the detonator have a damage penalty
gun mettle update they also increased the self damage by 25% so that you'd take the same amount of damage when det jumping, which was thoughtful of them
since when does the detonator have a damage penalty what the hell is that all about? the inability to do full crits is already a damage penalty.
Since July 2, 2015 Why? Beats me.
The mere existence of The Huo Long Heater. Being a Heavy main myself, I can GUARANTEE it does nothing but waste ammo. The ring is supposed to allow you to look out for spies, but a Spy will always be disguised and you won't hear your hitsound. The sharp pain sounds MIGHT help you, but you will die before you turn around most of the time. It wastes your ammo pretty quickly too, so you have to look out for ammo half of the time. While it does look good and makes a pretty neat sound, it still is crushed by any other minigun because of how fast it drains your ammo. It is a brilliant idea on paper, but does not work in-game. I wish it got a complete stat change, though. I want to use it more, cause it looks so cool.
Huo-Long Heater is only really useful on payload where you have infinite ammo while pushing the cart.
Id say natascha is still better since you can slowdown attackers and resist damage while doing so.
When it comes to Miniguns, its either the Tomislav or the Natascha. I dont even really touch stock anymore.
Honestly even with the buffs tomislav seems a little mediocre. The stats don't really work well together. Faster spinup is most useful for ambushes, but if you just jump in on somebody you'll be dealing less damage because of the damage rampup. Even if you're not ambushing, any strategy that makes use of the spinup for mobility is going to be seriously gimping your damage output because you're constantly resetting your damage rampup. The accuracy buff doesn't help with that at all because you're not going to want to ambush somebody from far away anyways. I guess a damage nerf in exchange for an accuracy buff is alright, but if you're out in the open at a distance as heavy you're going to be exposing yourself a lot more as heavy than you really should be. Overall stock seems like the stronger option.
