Actually the air blast change makes it almost impossible for a pyro to carry you across the map into a death pit like pyro used to be able to do, as long as you airs trade away from it.
you're gonna have to show me video evidence for that because it's exactly the same as before
you're gonna have to show me video evidence for that because it's exactly the same as before
Just go to any Hightower or Doublecross server and wait for a pyro to try pitting you. Hold A or D in the direction away from the death pit. You'll keep being tossed in the air but you'll actually move in the direction you're holding.
A little bit nitpicky, but two things about the Battle Bob:
The fact that it's glued to the helmet rather than to the head, making it look absolutely idiotic during taunts like the conga
And that it can't be used with other hats. I know it'd clip horribly with anything non-helmet and even some helmets, I'd just like to use it with the Tin Pot.

It's not glued to the helmet. It IS helmet. Try doing Kazotsky Kick with no helmet style.
Good fucking lord, I think I found out what it does. At a times, when Pyro airblasted me, I wouldn't be pushed away from him, I would literally just be pushed a bit upwards and that was it. So they made it essentially just a lot more annoying than before because now you don't have ANY speed to work with which means you are the easiest target to hit on the entire battlefield.
Well fucking done, Valve :goodjob:
You guys will completely forget this and go back to praising valve no matter what they do the next time a placebo change that actually accomplishes nothing or makes the game worse happens, Im willing to quote this when the next major updates hits if you want.

Except the airstrafing change made quite a difference, Pyros can't stunlock at all any more.

make us a video please
make us a video please
Just try it? I'm not going to make a video to prove what's literally the change that it mentions in the patchnotes. Just go to some map where Pyros like to poof you off cliffs or whatever and move to the sides or front on the second airblast like if you were jumping or rocketjumping.
Why is it hard to believe that a patchnote change was actually a change in that patch?
I felt the change quite well, honestly, I've had a good amount of moments since where I've avoided being pushed off a cliff. Just gotta be hit by the 2nd consecutive airblast for it to take effect.
the fact that the professors pineapples clip with the gaelic garb so badly
(For those who don't know, the Gaelic garb is a demoman cosmetic that replaces the chestpiece with a chestpiece with a sash looking thing. Only half the grenades show. The professors pineapples are potion looking items that replace the grenades. The gaelic garb must replace the regular grenades with it's own modeled in therefore the Prof. Potions don't remove it, just sit where the regular grenades are. Thus clipping occurs)
UGH IT HURTS MY LOADOUT (thanks to a lad on the discord for showing me it, I love it!) SO BAD BECAUSE THERE'S POTION-GRENADE HYBRIDS TAKING A NAP ON MY CHEST
Why are people with recent VAC bans allowed to play in matchmaking?
Why is it so hard to actually do anything about hackers in TF2? I report a player for cheating and jack shit happens after that.
Three times in only ~50 competitive games I've been in the same server with a hacker, two of which tried to hide it but one look at their view in firstperson and it's obvious they're hacking as their view jerks at heads for every shot they take.
Like if you need to cheat in a competitive game to do good you need to reevaluate your pathetic life.
Actually, nevermind THAT complaint. I think my problem is with Australium Gold.
Unlike Lime or Pink, it seems to annoy me a whole bunch more. It's the "I am not exactly rich but I am a big cunt anyways" paint IMO. I have yet to see SOMEONE wearing that paint who was not a big dickhead or a pubstomping australium RL soldier main. Surely, you do not get to see it as much as lime or pink cause they just puke out money and buy them. But you still see it arround most of the time.
It does not look even that good on MOST MISCS anyway, why do people like it so much!? If you are going to paint hair, gentlemann's business pants works much better anyway!
plus it's not even australium gold, it's piss yellow

While I agree on the hair aspect (Business Pants / Cream Spirit tend to work much better) and that not every misc is really suited for it, I think there are certainly times and places where subtle use of Australium Gold actually really works nicely. Here are two of my current loadouts that employ it for just that extra little bit of detail.

speaking of these samurai shoes, they can be equipped with the bootlegger and they completely hide the latter.
were getting there, aren't we?
Honestly I think they should normalize "foot" slot items for Demo somehow.
The easiest way would probably be to just turn all the cosmetics that conflict with the slot into Bootie/Bootlegger reskins. But there might be better alternatives.
so if they use a GL they cant wear shoes?
that doesn't sound like the easiest way at all
Hrm, good point. I just don't know what a good solution would be otherwise.
Currently these items can't be equipped if you're using the Ali Baba's or the Bootlegger, which means if you want the "weapon" stats of the Booties, you can't match your shoes to your outfit.

There are also a few other cosmetic I forgot about which also have the same problem, but it's a more complicated situation because they're multi-class or all-class items. I'm not certain how to work around that wrinkle.

I suppose one solution would be to simply have the cosmetics "override" the foot slot if you wear them, turning the "weapon" shoes invisible and replacing them? Dunno.
Edit: And I guess there's the Halloween feet items as well.
The whole thing about foot slot weapons is that they need to always be visible because since you can't switch to them the enemy needs to be able to see what you have equipped
Seeing a Soldier rocket jump and not knowing whether he's taking full damage from the jump wouldn't be fun
i suppose the best way to accommodate all the shoe cosmetics without making a gameplay-affecting item invisible would be to make the booties and bootlegger cosmetics as well, and then move the passive demoknight primary to some entirely new, non-shoe item that doesn't conflict with anything at all
no idea what that would be, though, not to mention you'd have to give the same treatment to the gunboats and the mantreads somehow. i guess alternatively you could turn the shoe weapons into ridiculously oversized boots that would be too large to be covered up by any shoe cosmetics, but that would look really dumb and make the cosmetics a bit pointless. another simpler alternative would be to have shoe weapons hide the models of shoe cosmetics while equipped, but again, that would make the cosmetics pointless.
this is just a stupid problem to begin with. giving shoe cosmetics to a class with shoe weapons was a mistake that shouldn't have happened in the first place, and now we're all stuck having to work around it.
The Shin Shredders already obscure the Bootlegger, and no one complains about that. Is this really an issue? I mean, if you see a Demoknight running around, you can pretty much assume they're using one of the two Boots, even if it's covered up.
In fact, I just realized something - even if the Boots were completely invisible, you'd still be able to tell if someone has them equipped. How? They don't have a grenade launcher! The same is true of a soldier with the Gunboats/Manntreads - they lack a shotgun.
Still, if we really want to push the notion of keeping the "weapon" visible somehow, how about something like a small aura or glow around or under the character's feet? It works for the Buff Banner effect and whatnot. Or maybe even make it an audio cue? The gunboats can give you big heavy clompy footstep sounds or something.

I would rather turn the bootlegger/ booties into a cosmetic item, they were always a terrible addition to the game
What don't you like about them? They're a solid item for Demoknights, but even then they're still probably suboptimal compared to having the grenade launcher and sticky launcher.
I would rather turn the bootlegger/ booties into a cosmetic item, they were always a terrible addition to the game
the claid lover does not want people to run around without grenades
that would be a kick in the dick for contributors, though.
"hey guy, we added your weapon item!"
"by the way it's a cosmetic now, fuck y'all"
Why would a contributor be less happy if their $4.00 weapon on the steam store that's really worth a penny suddenly had some actual value attached to it? Seems like it'd only benefit them.
Then again wasn't the phlog like the highest selling item at some point?
because it's more interesting to actually have created a gamechanger rather than some throwaway hat that wont net you any real profit in 6-8 months
Snipers wearing the Danger Shield that taunt after killing you.
snipers wearing the danger shield that taunt after headshotting you after you already headshot them and they only survived because of their anti-sniper duel shield
i suppose victory is in spirit rather than result, though?
