Try changing it to mat_picmip 1 when you launch and see if you still get the crash.

The people in PLR Valve servers who tell people not to cap once the server inevitably changes to hightower really bust my balls. And on top of that they constantly extended the map time and tried votekicking anybody who touched their payload carts. Why can't they just go to a 24/7 hightower server or something?

They probably don't know that servers outside of quickplay exist

Suffice to say this is one of those things you know valve worked very very hard upon.

I really hope they introduce midwest servers. 90 ping to any valve server but I get 30 to a texas koth server with 0/32 players.

soldiers who use the black box. it's literally the worst RL and people still use that crap even with a medic on them AND a fucking conch.

See, here's the worst part of Soldier's primaries. The 4 of 5 alternatives are considered stupid, annoying bullshit (With Direct Hit being an expection). Which forces Soldiers to either use Stock RL/Direct-Hit if he does not want to get insulted for using say, Liberty Launcher or Beggar's 'Zooka. Which is a shame, really. Content: Man, fuck anything that has knockback as a part of the weapon itself. Why do I deserve to be thrown into a cliff cause a Scout with The Crit a Cola shot me with a FaN while I was fighting an important enemy, then proceeds to taunt cause he finally managed to get a kill after 25 or so deaths? This goes for ANYTHING that has this shitty knockback mechanic attached to it.

I use the Black Box and Conch combo quite frequently. While i do get insulted for that, people dont understand the situation i am in. I am not good at Beggars type of playstyle. My aim is too bad for the direct hit. Its not fun for me to play with the stock RL and my other weapon choices dont work with the air strike. That leaves me with the cow mangler, Black box and the Liberty launcher. While i do switch to the mangler and liberty launcher from time to time, black box seems to be the most fitting from those 3. Its sad to see this kind toxicity be in all of the games (same goes for p90 and autosniper in cs go). If its in the game, its okay to use it, no need to throw insults because someone kills you/finds fun in using the "noob weapon".

The Loose Cannon is my favorite side grade though. It completely changes the weapon and adds a new skill-based mechanic that rewards practice and patience. It's everything a side grade should be!

I use the BB+conch in pubs because consistent heals from a medic are a rarity there. I find myself missing the shotgun a lot against pyros, but it's also fun just walking calmly around them while they airblast out of anticipation at rockets that never come, instead of just lighting me up.

I feel soldiers easy enough without a ton of free health. Conchbox is definitely a crutch that you shouldn't rely on, you can be far more effective if you just learn how to maintain your health and positioning than relying on fuckton of free health regen and lifesteal to carry you in 1 on 1 fights. if anything being an annoying loadout to fight against isnt the main reason why you shouldn't use conch box, you shouldn't use it because it teaches really bad habits.

I hate the black box so much that even though I got an Aussie one from MvM I still prefer stock, DH, and Liberty over it. [editline]13th April 2016[/editline] Having only three rockets is too crippling.
