You misunderstood my point. I don't mind Airblast being able to extinguish players, it makes sense if anything. Pyro is the Pyro's counter.
there's the problem. it shouldn't be that way.
jar extinction is fine since you waste a potent ability for like 30 sec. mannmelter is fine too since thats the point of the item.
ab extinguish? super easy, fast, spammable and barely trades off anything. by removing this you indirectly make burn better. its a super simple fix. the only drawback is having to get used to it again but that's hardly a problem.
In the original 2007 Barebones version of TF2, what role was Pyro actually supposed to fill?
Hit and run.
Flames were weak, but afterburn was quite potent especially since there was more or less nothing to stop it.

yea that is a problem, cause a pyro can airblast 10 times, compared to the 4 times the backburner gives and 8 the degreaser gives (but god forbid you get a pyro who got his ass connected directly to a dispenser)

Hit and run with his low movement speed isn't really a good design.

Thankfully it got improved to degreastinguisher.
I met some friend from a long time ago on a valve server, he used to wear decent loadouts with team paints and some australium gold here and there...
But the friend I saw was nothing like that one, no no. He was wearing a lime tosslecap with a lime flapjack, and he was pubstomping a 2fort server and taunting. I could not even bear asking him if he remembered me, I just refused to believe it was him... But alas, it actually was him.
No memories were had, only sadness was brought up that day.
I hate it when people insit on being the "team leader" and ordering people around via microphone when they have the shittiest microphone that makes them sound like they're underwater.

And then they go completely insane when you don't do what they say, even if you cant understand what the hell they said

"mrrrmrrrrphhh."
"I don't understand what you're saying."
"Mrrrmrrph!? Mrrrrmrrrrmrrrphhh!"
*votemute*
"MRRRMRRRPH! MRPH MRPH MRPH!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!"

It's like the fucking pyro is suddenly elected in any position of power.

This was posted in the things you love thread, but my response deals with annoyance:
when you have to sustain it to absolute cartoonish levels (like doing a 180 even at the same time as straight up shooting people) to counter brand new players, then why yes it is a hassle.
I've had times as heavy where I look behind me and the coast is clear for fucking ages and the second I turn my back to rev up a fucking spy out of no where backstabs me.
I know spy is useless in higher levels but holy shit is he annoying.

I know that feel. Those types of Spies use macros and scripts to decloak just far enough away for it to be inaudible, and then to instantly recloak after a stab.
I know that feel. Those types of Spies use macros and scripts to decloak just far enough away for it to be inaudible, and then to instantly recloak after a stab.
why would you need any of those for just decloaking at a safe distance
It's about being as efficient as possible, being uncloaked for the shortest time possible, making it less likely anyone sees you. You and I may find it absurd, but certain people rely on scripting and whatnot to get even the smallest of edges.
Remember back when the pistol could be fired slightly faster with scripts? Not game breaking, but still a slight edge that certain people sought out.
I don't think that type of script/macro is even possible. The only way I can think of it is if it was based off +forward and the wait command, but then it'd be unreliable and crash your game on servers with wait disabled.
Shitty servers that use custom autobalance sourcemod plugins that somehow end up worse than the game's default autobalance. e.g. getting autobalanced when you're the top scorer on the team and the only one capturing the objective.
Also the "for shame" thing when you try to switch back.

don't forget about ones which slay you midlife, truly geniuses at work behind that plugin
the huntsman was a terrible mistake.
And this is not blind hate, I actually main the thing and even have a collector one.
But spammable headshots is too powerful for the effort involved. With hitscan headshots at least you can be sure the sniper actually provided his own input and *did* something on his end.
So the logical thing would be to remove headshots from the hunts, right? Unfortunately that would just make it inefficient and revolver-tier, so that can't really happen. We're stuck with it.
If only we had got the walkabout instead. We don't really know what it would have truly been, but im sure it would have been miles ahead the bow.
the walkabout sounds like a closer range piss rifle without piss.
they could have done a closer range sniper with ironsights instead of scope that minicritted on headshot and charged faster, or something like that. I never use the piss rifle because of the no headshots thing, headshots are just so satisfying for me to give up.

they could just make the huntsman's hitbox a ton smaller
they could just make the huntsman's hitbox a ton smaller
That'd only partially fix the issue of Huntsman.
The fact that you can pretty much just jump, pull the arrow back in mid-air, get about half charge and land around a corner. Insta-killing anything there with ease.
That is the problem.
Remember when Sniper's weakness was close-range?
Nah, me neither.

Maybe it would be good if it only did minicrit on headshot if you don't pull it for long enough, so you would have to keep the bow pulled for maybe a few seconds ( 5,7 ?, i dunno. ), then it would crit on headshot.
Just an idea.
Why not just make it require full charge to be able to headshot. It'd feel much less spammy that way.
Why not just make it require full charge to be able to headshot. It'd feel much less spammy that way.
I think that'd be kinda weird, i mean you're being shot by an arrow in your face, it should do a little bit of extra damage even without being fully charged.
But in TF2 stuff doesn't always have to make sense anyways, i guess what you said could work too.
getting hit in the head with a bullet only does more damage if the guy was looking through a scope, so I can't see why it would be weird.

Yeah this would also solve the issue of running into a huntsman sniper, the sniper clicks, point blank headshot.
that doesnt fix shoot 20 arrows at a wall and eventually hit 360 damage on a poor sod tho

Well it will take much longer and your chances are much lower.
while we're at it, can we make the huntsman's charge sound and animation actually match the amount of time it takes to charge it
that would be nice

I'm starting to understand why sometimes peoples are able to see me as Spy despite being completely invisible :v:
