I hate it when the game hitches always at crucial moments.
Unpleasant players who ruin specific servers and the overall enjoyment in TF2 for you. GrimFortress has a Dustbowl server I used to go on all the time before they switched hosts. The Dustbowl server rarely sees any traffic anymore ever since the switch so I decided to check out their 2fort and Snowycoast servers. It was pretty fun until I went to the 2Fort server. The server has 2 specific who I'm not going to name regulars that really drained the enjoyment from me in a matter of minutes. They're both server donators with a lot of butt buddy friends who join and team stack the shit out of the server. They're both unpleasant to talk to and play with/against. One of them also has a "everybody who's better than me is a hacker" mindset and will harass anyone they accuse until they leave. It's a shame because Grimfortress is where I met some pretty damn cool people and where I spent a good amount of time on for the past 6 or so months.

If I remember correctly, I have one of them muted on that server. It could've been a different 2fort server, though. EDIT: I vaguely remember it was a Scout player that spammed the chat or something.
I hate it when the game hitches always at crucial moments.
I'm still trying to figure out and put up with the game stuttering, but then the sound returns without the visuals. Eventually I open Task Manager to force close the game though I get the dialog box saying : TF2 was unresponsive, but has successfully recovered.
I took notice that my CPU Flatlines for a brief moment when the game hitches. It only happens with games running the Source Engine.
That's actually a really good point. Now forgive me for the comparison, but it's the best example I can think of. When I see an enemy in Overwatch, I immediately know what punches they can throw. When I think about it, the amount of processing you gotta do watching enemies in TF2, since the standard enemy will have 4 to 7 different primaries, secondaries and melees. It's quite large in comparison.
Once you recognize them, I guess you can know what weapons they have in overwatch, but I'd make the opposite argument. In overwatch, everyone has an ultimate not just the medic and both time and damage affect it. You don't know how much they were offloading into Reinhardt's shield to build that necessarily. It's harder to recognize someone's class at distance due to the full body skin variety.

One mains Machina Sniper/Engi, the other mains Soldier/Engi.
Really gets on my tits how pyros airblast you as scout when you're running away and you get blasted straight up. Plus you should be out of range. Rage levels critical.
Really gets on my tits how pyros airblast you as scout when you're running away and you get blasted straight up. Plus you should be out of range. Rage levels critical.
"But don't get in range."
Airblast in general just sucks the fun out of fighting pyros
Airblast in general just blows the fun out of fighting pyros
Also, fuck the huntsman, most bullshit nonsensical deaths I swear.
I play pyro a bit and it I can feel how bollocks it is when some scout gets popped straight up for me to shotgun, even if he's miles away. And he can't see shit because of my flames, which may sometimes instakill him (no crits) or may do fuck all. It's not even fun to play as pyro in these situations because it's so mechanical. Pyro vs scout should be fought very differently to how it turns out to be played imo. Just a mess that needs fixing and probably has for a long, long time. It just feels unfair and those deaths are the ones that really get to you. [editline]6th June 2016[/editline]
Also, fuck the huntsman, most bullshit nonsensical deaths I swear.
Just fire it in the general direction of a crowd and see what you hit. Usually, some poor fucker, and usually right in the head. If you miss, you'll be popping off another shot in no time. Great...
I have the exact opposite problem when I play pyro, it's like my airblast does nothing to people. Especially if I'm actively trying to push them somewhere rather than just a pop up. They're standing on a ledge? Now, why would an airblast actually manage to knock them off? Of course, every other pyro I've ever fought against is perfectly capable of flinging me to China and/or into space if they so wish, so, won't say I don't know exactly what you guys are talking about.
The hitboxes for the airblast effect are super fucking weird (and bad).
its actually just a massive rectangle protuding infront of the pyro and in many cases it reaches people faster than the travel time of flames when running forward
Nah, I've never seen either one play as a scout. One mains Machina Sniper/Engi, the other mains Soldier/Engi.
Ah, I see. I must have been on the Gravity Bong server that time.
I dream of the day that I will get killed by a Pyro and not say "HOW DOES THAT EVEN WORK!?" or "WHY IS THAT THIS EFFECTIVE ALL THE TIME!?" Seriously, I would be fine with Pyro only if he got a complete overhaul.
Seriously, I would be fine with Pyro only if he got a complete overhaul.
everyone keeps saying this magic word but we all know its out of the question. if the old tf crew couldnt be arsed to do it years ago during tf2s peak, it certainly wont happen today. plus I find your calls much more appropriate on the heavy rather than the pyro.
I'm getting really fucking sick of seeing Pauling's mildly shocked face on the TF2 blog.
Yeah well umm, question: Why does Soldier have Gunboats, which lets him take less damage from rocket jumps. But Demo does not have one of those EVEN THOUGH HE NEEDS THEM MORE BECAUSE HE TAKES SO MUCH DAMN DAMAGE FROM STICKY JUMPS!?
demo dosent need it kid, he dosent even have a pair of legs, just one

ya know on frontier theres a little spot where people can run from after 2nd cap spawn straight to after 3rd cap with like no opposition? well theres a door, chain door that you can only exit from and not enter, the exit will always be crawling with spies. this is a visual representation end my life
this is a visual representation
You might wanna check your link there pal. Your image isn't there.
I think the problem with the airblast is that you can't controls where you are going in the air and that's why it's so op. when i blast someone, he can't do shit at all and get killed with (my) reserves shooter in a matter of seconds, all without being able to defend himself. You're just fleeing other ways to play on the other maps and you miss some really great gameplay on some other map. I used to 24/7 harvest and nucleus with gorge but i grew tired of that
I don't see the point of 24/7 server
People don't want to have to server hop to keep playing on their favorite maps. Which reminds me, I wish ctf_Sawmill was played more
Which reminds me, I wish ctf_Sawmill was played more
Some ctf maps are terribly underrated. I love Doublecross' design, but sadly I rarely find any server that has it.
I love Doublecross' design
you have a new friend
I hate getting random crits. Specifically when the guy I get those said crits spams the chat with "Random crits are fair and balanced." and makes me feel much more guilty.
Some ctf maps are terribly underrated. I love Doublecross' design, but sadly I rarely find any server that has it.
Used to know a good community server that ran 24/7 Doublecross. It didn't survive the addition of quickplay, sadly.
