A TF2 team member responded in the Update Speculation thread saying that the next update will be "neato." And everyone there proceeded to beat the word to death with a dead horse.
Yesterday on a valve dustbowl pub a couple of clearly skilled and experienced enemies started to complain about a guy on my team who was most likely using the cl_yawspeed and +direction cvars to spin around. It went as far as them joining my team and wanting to kick him, because "it isn't fair against some classes", and calling it "spinbot". Well sorry if one harmless guy ruined your pub experience.
That spinning around and movement is very often an indicator of a hacker. You sure he wasn't?
He was playing medic.
Clearly he was medibeam hacking then, getting that solid heal aim right there :v:
Hacks, I fought a guy that consistently got random crits with the eyelander. I really wonder what's going on behind the scenes in the code as it would make sense for crits to be all done server side.

Basically, for melee weapons with "no random crits" there's actually a slight chance for it. 1/10,000 chance, if I recall correctly. A recent version of LMAOBox can take advantage of that and give these weapons random crits significantly more often.

Finally get in the comp beta, everything is great until I run into a squad of three hackers twice. The second time my team actually manage to roll them as snipers, so they change to scouts instead and ruin everyone's fun with thier renamed default scatterguns (why?). At least these fuckers get banned now.
Gotta love trying to kick an exploiter just to have your team go "tryhard", "why do you hate fun" and "you're just jealous because you don't know how to do it".
That reminds me of team's who keeps the hacker/exploiter to win when their team are losing 2-0 and come back 2-3 and says "Ez" i swear that fucking annoys me the most when shitty players need a exploiter to help them. :suicide:
Spy and Sniper were a mistake.
Spy and sniper is a part of TF2 as much as Pyro and Heavy are. I hate when someone complain about a class, well deal with it. ESPECIALLY spy and sniper. Complaining about class is literally complaining about how the game was made.
the magic pocket watch that lets you tank a shit ton of damage with one click like seriously, regen rate/cost needs to seriously be changed. A spy should not be able to constantly activate it and get out of everything Scratch free
When the team has 3 Snipers on it, you ask them to change, and then they ALL change to Spy.
Those spies that forget that their Revolver exists. Stop trying to Juke-stab the Sniper with 1 HP.
I've noticed that lately there's been a real increase of borderline plant-life spies. Like, they'll walk right up to me, uncloak, and start either stabbing me or my shit in the face as engineer (and then proceed to get vaporized by my sentry). What on earth is going on? I've never seen this many plant-spies ever.
I cannot fucking use the word "neato" without having people bashing me for it just because it's a le ebin meme now. Listen here, fuckhead. Neato was a part of my vocabulary way before your shitty meme showed up, just because it's a meme now does not mean I am going to stop using it forever and ever. God fucking dammit.
I didn't even know "neato" was part of some meme or whatever. And frankly, I don't give a crap. I like the word and I'll use it whenever I want.
I don't think anyone has a big issue if you say neato, it's if you go "Hey this ____ was pretty neato :smug: "
Neato is alright as a word and no one should be persecuted for using it. Anyone who does that is a complete nutjob. It's only a meme if someone uses it in context of the new update, because with the community being the cancer it is, they have to run everything into the ground in record time and not let go once the meme has overstayed its welcome.
All pink or lime loadouts The Engie in my group uses an all pink set, partially because of his hearts unusual, but it still bothers me to no end
when random crits whiners magically don't mind when they get rcrits of their own. as if nothing happened.
when random crits whiners magically don't mind when they get rcrits of their own. as if nothing happened.
"God damn random crits fucking saved my life back there, stupid fucking rng shit" People that use logical thinking aren't going to complain when a negative aspect of a game, such as TF2's rng, helps them. At most, they'd apologize if they felt it was an unfair kill, but expecting them to get angry about it like they do when RNG kills them is just plain stupid. It's an uncontrollable part of the game. That's why they dislike it.

That's why they dislike it.
To be fair, I've done this sort of thing occasionally. I can think of at least 12 separate occasions off the top of my head where I've said: "Wow, that was dumb. There was no reason for me to have survived that," when I live through an encounter with >25 health because I magically rolled random crits on the first shot. I can't speak for everyone, mind you, but I hate dealing random crits just as much as taking them; It's just that it's impractical to drop what you're doing and type out how mind numbingly stupid it was that a single crit sticky you launched killed 4 people at once every time it happens, when you could instead continue shooting people and capturing objectives. There's more time to type when you're dead; hence more complaining about being hit by them. So all of this probably smacks of rampant hypocrisy, but know that at least a few of us feel just as cheated out of a good fight by firing random crits as you do getting hit by them.
when random crits whiners magically don't mind when they get rcrits of their own. as if nothing happened.
So much this. At best you'll get the "Crits are fair and balanced" bind, perhaps with a lenny at the end. That seems more smug than anything, from my experience people say that phrase only when the crit actually saved their ass, not when a direct rocket that hit a 40 health soldier and would have killed him anyway happened to be a crit. And I will throw in that when snipers apologize for bodyshotting me it actually annoys me a bit because it's 2016 and people still shy away from just shooting someone in the chest if it gets the job done, but that's for another post. People complaining about crits in situations where they made no difference annoy me, clearly. It allows people to not think about the fact they got outplayed, because the last 7 health they had was taken away by a crit! Doesn't matter they got hit by 2/3 crisp rockets and would have died anyway, if the fatal blow is a crit then it's a "dumb bs death" they don't have to analyze whatsoever in their mind. And the people that are convinced they are crit magnets or whatever "curse" they like to believe in more or less ALWAYS overextend like mad. It's not exactly rocket science that when you have half the enemy team looking at you, there's a higher chance that one of them rolls a crit than if you take 1v1s or have your teammates around while fighting. I could go on and on about how this is the #1 cause of people thinking they are crit magnets, they get focused because <insert reason here>, they always get 3v1'd and so on.. it's because they don't realize where the front line actually is at the moment and jump into the enemy respawn wave :v:

I got 6 crit deaths in a row the other day. Pure rage. edit: may have been 5, come to think of it. You get the idea.
I got 6 crit deaths in a row the other day. Pure rage. edit: may have been 5, come to think of it. You get the idea.
Take it as a compliment. If you feel you "only" die to crits you are either just very unlucky, or more likely than that you are playing intelligently. Crits can turn the chip/splash you take while NOT overextending into something lethal. If you play carefully the only things that really kill you are instakills (headshots, backstabs), focus fire or.. well, crits. And obviously you won't remember all the rockets that hit you for 40 damage at longish range, or the zombie soldiers just running/jumping into you and doing a reasonably survivable 100 damage before dying. But the nearly 300 damage crockets from any range, those we remember. Might seem pretty two-faced compared to my previous post in the thread, but the difference is that here it's deaths that WOULD not happen if you didn't get critted, while in the overextension example it's mostly salt in the wound :v:
I didn't think they were real but people that actually call me out for not extinguishing them RIGHT as they died Bonus: They were an unusual wearing tossle cap fuckwad, so I guess it makes sense it was restricting their most basic logic
That's it. I became the Whip Soldier Crit Master. Why? The Whip has SO MUCH RANDOM CRITS I HAVE LITERALLY MADE A KILLSTREAK OF 4 PERSONS WITH CRIT! I would just feel so bad if i was killed like this :/
Whenever I'm in the main menu and I highlight certain buttons that make messages pop up (Such as the Achievement and Coaching buttons), when the messages disappear they always leave black boxes behind. It happens whenever I close the server browser too and it's starting to get annoying.
