I actually like dominations, they're a cool side objective and make people more competitive, especially against people of a higher skill level. They kinda force everyone to focus on the guy dominating their team more, but fail cause they get desperate later on and cause the guy who's dominating everyone to be a bigger issue.
FTFY
FTFY
Well I don't know if things would be helped if there was no domination system in that case. They'd just... Die to him anyway?

I guess Jarate is the same, if not even more outraging because most people don't enable colorblind mode and don't get that advantage.

When the team you're on is mostly made up of a bunch of friends and you're the outsider, so when something goes wrong, everyone just gangs up on you, and only you.
when your hp is just enough to get killed by an attack like you run around with 120 hp and you think "well only a fully charged arrow bodyshot could kill me" and holy shit it happens. or when you have 30 hp and a rocket kills you without gibbing (not enough negative hp)
It's probably just confirmation bias but holy shit lately I've been playing against Soda Popper scouts and realized that weapon is still annoying as fuck. also scouts are annoying as fuck, fuck them too
Me and some people are trying our asses off to push the cart, then some fucking pleb complains about us killing him and his friends cause they are friendly and enjoy circle-jerking in a FPS game. Listen, dear, darling, cupcake, babe, honey. Your team has 4 unusual wearing dickwads destroying my team, I am not going to check if the guy popping up from that corner is the le ebin frendli hoobi or the Sticky Launcher only Demoman with a god-awful unusual that goes for $500 cause it has an obnoxious effect on it. So, fucking stop crying and grow some BALLS to play as something other than a friendly Heavy.
it took me a while to realize sometimes enemies do really stupid things to get to me and it's because of that magical glowing domination icon over my head that I can't personally see. I never really thought about it before. terrible system for anyone involved.
I would honestly just rework the domination/revenge system. Here's some on-the-spot ideas for the hell of it. Dominations: It will still be "4 kills on the same person without them killing you", but none of that "You have a New Nemesis!" for the receiving end of the domination, along with that Nemesis Burst effect over your head. Instead it will say in the kill-feed "X Player has received a Domination!". I wanna take into consideration that scrapping dominations as a whole will mean removing all the domination lines, and removing the expensive-ass "Player's Dominated" strange part from weapons which would make people who bought the item especially upset. But back on the topic of the mechanic rework. Once you have dominated a player, their # of kills needed to be dommed again is reset so the player being dominated isn't focused on getting revenge. So this oddly makes it possible to acquire a domination from the same person twice in one life but they wouldn't give a shit because the game wouldn't make such a big deal out of it. Revenges: This one is much shorter, basically, kill the person who killed you in your last life and it'll say "X player got their revenge!" And that's that.
I have a better idea. Remove the entire Domination/Revenge system. Its pointless.
remove domination and replace it with a close range encounter on your nemesis in a theatrical event whereas you confront them atop 2fort's bridge during a red sunset, followed by a deep monologue to the dominated about his rage and regret and turns into tense dialogue between the dominator and dominatee filled with passion and fury that eventually turns into a fistfight between the two blasting the various themes of team fortress 2 over the years as they whittle each other's health away until they reach their last bits of health and all you can hear is footsteps, the wind blowing, and the tired grunts between two grown men who once could have become friends but now must end the other's life as a nemesis or vindicator but suddenly a giant meteor comes down from the sky and it takes the combined power of red and blu to form the PRL team to become strong enough to halt its progress and save the world, unfortunately at the cost of their own lives. In their final moments the former nemesi look to each other with a grin, thinking that working together wasn't so bad after all. Then the map changes to Dustbowl.
I have a better idea. Remove the entire Domination/Revenge system. Its pointless.
Back in the day when every class looked the same as one another, having a distinct effect above a dominating player was a good indication of who's a threat without a moment to even think about it, you'd just internalize them as a high-value target. It's deliberately designed as a negative feedback loop where the only escape from it is a cathartic one-off comeback. The game doesn't need to have this system in order to build the loop for anyone, but it exists to bring into the server a sense of community as now the entire server is aware of it. It bolsters morale for the dominator's team and encourages an underdog comeback from the team surrounding the dominated, however this can also lead to cockiness on the dominator's part and recklessness on the dominated's part. There's no changing this behavior even if it weren't announced to the server. This sort of behavior transcends videogames, there's no removing it. Now that hats and player customization have become a staple of the game's longevity, players are no longer in need of having some sort of telltale particle tracking them for players to recognize them. The only caveat is that the nemesis icon allows them to see through class-changes and loadout changes in case someone's trying to be stealthy, as well as the ever-present copycat loadouts people make. I'd still change it to be something else besides the cover-defying floating particle. But the system itself isn't the problem so much as the problem resides with how the individuals react to the system.
I like the reasoning for when we had no hats, but nowadays I find the system without purpose since TF2 has limitless, no-consequence dying and pretty much anything can one-shot anyone with little to no effort. Everyone eventually gets a revenge after X time (thanks to external factors) and the meaningless cycle just repeats.
Can I say I hate the UFO that sucks you up on the one KotH map. I believe it's name is Probed? So damn annoying lol...

Only to find yourself getting sucked into it if you every remotely close to the point. I'm trying to do something, only finding myself pulled in and it completely messes up what I was trying to accomplish...
I know "tiered cosmetics are dumb" is a pretty common complaint these days, but the thing that irks me the most about it is that it turns pretty much all of the high tier hats into little more than status symbols. Before tiers the most sought after items would end up worth a couple keys at most, not hundreds of dollars. I'm saddened that it makes a lot of great looking items inaccessible for the vast majority of players. Now these things have been turned into little more than a new way for people with a lot of income to blow to show off. We already have unusuals and Australiums for that, and they don't really prevent people from accessing anything they're just fancier versions of things that already exist. I can guarantee that most people aren't wearing a banana on their head because they think it looks good*, they just want to show off the fact that they can afford to buy the banana, paint it pink, and rename it lennyface or something.

I can confirm this from experience.
"COMPETITIVE MODE IS GONNA SUCK BC OF OVERPOWERED WEAPONS!!!! ITS GONNA BE A CRIT A COLA AND OP WEAPON FEST" we haven't even seen day 2, and we know it's gonna be a shit ton of rebalances. why don't you wait a little bit before going apeshit hateboner?
Are vintage hats coming back at all? I know everything is worth an obscene amount of ref, but ref is pretty worthless now. I could have an unusual for every class, is practical and somewhat affordable, but I choose not to because I don't want to reward bad behavior of putting a gambling system in a game and people that play it. It's a drop in the bucket, but they can't have it. I really don't like the complete uselessness of crafting and it's really weird how the same stuff are sold in the store and the community market. If they are going to keep the system to craft hats that costs 3 ref+, there should be a chance of an unusual their too. I haven't played mvm that much, but if they put in more campaigns, I wouldn't mind paying for some more tickets, as $1 isn't bad for worth 30 mins -2 hours of gameplay with less cancer and different strats every once and a while, so I'm not sure why they have abandoned mvm.
When people vote kick you for playing the objective, at this point it's a valid trolling method, but it's really just playing the game. Sometimes when I record and try and get points people complain.
not a fan of the newest update

I played that pass time crap and all I got was no silly pin to never equip. At least let me have my 'bragging rights' reward, dangit.
Getting a penalty for leaving a "casual" game.
not being able to control my viewmodel fov. What a dumb move by valve. There is literally no reason to cap viewmodel fov at 54. It looks like I got hungry on the battlefield and I'm taking a bite out of my gun.
