Don't mean to be rude but turbine has one of the easiest spawns to stop spawn camping. Glass walls so enemies can't really hide, multiple doors to exit out of, it's in a hallway so you can easily hit clustered enemies with explosives. It sounds more like you had a really bad team that didn't know easy counters to camping as someone mentioned a few posts back.
I really still would prefer an exit to spawn that there's an exit to spawn that goes down some stairs and out into that corridor with the raised balcony that has the medium health kit.
do you suck at using it or did a pubstomper use it against you too much
the whole interrupted-by-damage mechanic is a great balance for it imo.
and then they take two steps forward then crit you with the half-zatoichi.

bash n slash shouldn't exist on the tide
we can remove the interrupt too to compensate

No, the whole being able to charge around a corner and get a guaranteed crit on you from any range of charge is what's so stupid. I can use it easily enough because it's fucking stupid how easy it is to use. I got three godlikes while using it, it's insane how easy it is. It's just too easy and too powerful. Combine it with the Zatoichi for a near guaranteed kill and 100% heal or the eyelander for unparalleled snowballing. Or if you're good with your primary, use it there too for a 'get out of jail free' card.

It's not the free crits that's as annoying, as you can easily shoot them over your head or just jump around them. It's the resistances that make it seem to hard counter EVERY. SINGLE. damage type you put out.

Except bullets. The resistances of the Tide Turner aren't the obnoxious part to me. It's the free crits and ludicrous maneuverability.
I feel like the demoman secondaries are just flat-out exceptional, really. Better than his primaries.
Demoknights are incredibly easy for soldiers to deal with (unless you just don't know how). You just shoot at the demoknight's feet at he charges at you, sending him flying behind you, then you do a 180 and kill him with your shotgun. It's really not hard.

what if you don't run the shotgun? then you're royally fucked for no good reason
what if you don't run the shotgun? then you're royally fucked for no good reason
Get good at launching people into the air with rockets, or rocket jump away. I've never really run any other soldier secondary, I'm so used to using it in MGE. I'd be fucked if I only had my rocket launcher, as I'd be dead during my reload time. Shotgun gives me 6 more opportunities to kill the enemy and survive, and it helps me a great deal. You're not going to win against a targe demoknight with just rockets; they do barely any damage to him.
A wise man once said if you get spawn camped, you probably deserve it
"If X happened to you, you deserved it" posts are starting to get old.
When I'm playing as a medic, I have 2-3 teammates around me and a demoknight appears, it's my teammates' job to defend me but they often fail in pubs, despite my best efforts at dodging. No I did NOT deserve to die to the shittiest gimmick class in the game with broken hit detection.
When I was playing soldier the other day and suddenly I was decapitated by a demoknight teleporting behind me with 800 ping I did NOT deserve it.
When I turn a corner as a scout in a deserted corner of a map and a pyro is just there and he ignites, airblasts & crit flares me before I could do anything, I did NOT deserve it.
Yes, the game is designed so that there are encounters where the only good option is not to engage but you are not always given this option.
When only 1 or 2 players are competent on my team and the other team happens to be mostly good players, and they are completely locking me inside, it's not my fucking fault. I can't be the medic and the soldier the same time, and even if I could be, I can't stop teammates running into their deaths, opening the spawn door to let the demo and their medic pump our spawnroom full of crit stickies, and even if we manage to break out of spawn there can still be a pyro and a level 3 knocking us all around the place making our effort pointless.
The first lesson in TF2 is learning to lose, because most matches are unbalanced skillwise, and dying in random bullshit situations is designed to be part of the gameplay even in balanced matches.
A wise man once said if you get spawn camped, you probably deserve it
if you get spawncamped once then they got you by surprise. If you get spawncamped more than that, then I agree you should have known how to deal with it. The exception is if you only have one spawn and people keep opening the door
the rescue ranger is seriously starting to piss me off...
You lose the ability to have the potential to do 90 damage pointblank in hitscan for a projectile that does 60 damage at pointblank and moves at the speed of medic crossbolts (really fast)
The main point of the ranger was to repair your build from a distance which a engineer would simply place their sentry in spots and spam the ranger at them, and if you went for the engineer they were often in a spot where the sentry had covered the safe spots to take shots at them. but i guess that was the point...
Although I still seriously protest the damage it can do
Facestabs,why do they exist.

Shouldn't exist on the targe either, it was added to all shields when they added the splendid screen, which due to valves lazy coding made it apply to all shields , this is clearly non intentional just look at the description of the screen compared to any other shields, I honestly would remove it from the screen too cause its just dumb.

I've always hated it when people say free crits, if you have to actively do something to get the crit, its not free, so far the only free crits in the game are random crits, and the reserve shooter on stairs and on jumping enemies

I'm so glad I'm not alone in hating broken Demoknight mechanics.
Since I rarely use shields and never was any good with them, plus I didn't keep track of changes/developments around them - is the issue in question that all 3 shields have been doing bash damage at any range for years (despite only the Screen being supposed to have that ability, according to stats), or does ''bash n' slash'' in this case mean that you get a guaranteed melee crit after any shield bash connecting, regardless of charge distance?
Might sound ignorant, but I've never bothered to test or pay attention to that much, and I do remember many folks saying that the shield bash and the guaranteed-crits-only-past-a-certain-charge-distance mechanic doesn't work properly, or that all 3 shields are capable of what only the Screen is supposed to be able to do.
Can you shed light on that, Tarts?

Yes, any shield gives you a 100% crit chances after the bash. It's easiest to do so with the Sceen since with it you actually deal damage so you have even more warning that the targeted sod is about to get obliterated. And that's what also makes the Turner+Zatoichi such a terrifying combo if you are 2 bits of capable playing with it, you can charge for days, always get a crit, full health on kill and replenishes your charge so you can creates these massive slaughter chains where your enemy barely has a chance to fight you. And even if you miss the crit swing, chances are Zatoichi will crit on its own.
I feel like I only ever get bash crits with the Screen and Targe.
Only the Screen is intended to get a crit immediately after a bash at any range, but they all do it. Fortunately, the bash itself is working fine.
I almost wouldn't mind if it wasn't fixed for the Targe, but it should really be fixed on the Turner, it's easy to get a bash with it at any range so it should only get the bash crit if you either hit them from a mile away or manage to pull off that trick where you spin on the spot while charging before hitting the enemy so it counts as the maxumum distance.
Also, on Demoknights: I hated them and considered them blatantly overpowered, especially with the Screen and its potential one hit kills, when I was new. Now that I'm more familiar with the game and know how to react to a Demoknight charging at me, only Half-Zatoichi random critting Demos bug me.
what is the point of this style if the hair clips through the helmet
really
It's because the style with the clipping was how the item looked to begin with; and at the time, they were adding "no hat" styles to everything. Frankly, the style without the helmet is how it should've been to start with, but at least it's there now, after years of massive clipping.

I'm not good at melee combat, so I don't really get to experience to broken experience that is demoknight.
And that's why I run stock 'nade launcher and sticky launcher :unimpressed:
So I'm playing soldier, I see a pesky sniper and wanted to chase him, but I ran into sentries. He starts saying in chat "kek, you seemed really desperate to kill me". "Desperate" wasn't the word I'd have used to describe it, I say "sure, yeah, whatever". He says I'm "salty" and he went pyro to reflect my rockets and started focusing me. I asked him a few times what his problem was but he just typed "kek" in chat whenever he killed me. After he got a domination he taunted and left. Uhh, GG, I guess?
I don't know why people like this play this game, it's like they are only playing to piss people off.
