You'd think you can take cover behind a concrete block because the minigun is not visible.

no no no
this is made to work like this for a very good reason. It's so the controlling player can hit whatever he aims at with his crosshair (just like what anyone would expect). Imagine if bullets spawned 3 feet under the crosshair, it would be absolutely dreadful. A heavy taking cover behind a dispenser or a barrel would just end up shooting the cover instead. I can understand it's shit getting killed by a face, but it really is the best option they went for.
If you try to duck infront of people at pointblank and the shot goes above your head, it's better to rely on the fact that they missed instead of trying to pry some realism out of it.
Fallout 3/NV has a thing where the bullets actually come out of the gun.
Thing is, both games also have aim assist to guide the bullets towards the crosshair (and towards enemy torsos next to it but that's another narrative). Once you turn it off, you find suddenly every gun shoots somewhere else, but none actually towards the crosshair.
It can't even be fixed properly because due to the perspective even if you make a gun shoot perfectly towards the crosshair, it will only work for a specific distance, closer or further would be still inaccurate.
Having bullets come out of the camera is really the only way to go for MP FPS. In TF2 there is a bit of a conflict of interest - they wanted both the guns to be readable and positioned them near the center of the guy on the worldmodel, and also have them accurate when used. Thus most guns in the game are actually misguiding.
I hate how the muzzle flash on the minigun became so low quality.

Probably to make it look more threatening while still retaining Valve's sense of balance (which I'll not delve deeper into since I'm not balancing expert) on the weapon.

I'm surprised that Valve hasn't made a shotgun/minigun hybrid named the Street Sweeper, with horrible stats to match the origin of the name.

It's a humongous fuck you to red team. I've never seen red no matter how skilled they were because of bullshit monocolus spawns and the inability for short range classes to get anywhere NEAR the cart without getting completely fucked. Playing pyro and trying to airblast them off or just attack them in general? Nope, fuck you, you're "spooked". Scout, heavy, spy just walking past it in one of those tight hallways? It's like the map designer threw up two middle fingers and said "FUCK BALANCE!"

The halloween spells are now unobtainable unless you trade for them.
Fuck's sake why do i have to pay 12 keys for a footprint spell that only is usable in full moons/halloween, couldn't they have allowed us to get them through merasmissions as rare drops atleast!?

Merasmus must die mission is pretty annoying to do when there's a spy on either side just stabbing everyone who wants the wizard dead. Oddly enough people started spamming "YES" on chat when the wizard finally died and left the server in a massive exodus
Alright, the whole day's been pretty much shit for me, but this is my main deal, what the hell is with spy backstab radiuses? I've seen spies get away with impossible stuff from the near-front, but for me, whenever I play Spy, I have to be absolutely PERFECTLY behind them for it to register. Is the key to being a spy is to be totally laggy or something, I really just don't understand.

Lag-spies can walk one way, turn, and backstab me.
On my screen? I never stopped facing them and get to watch the backstab animation play in my face.
On their screen, due to the wonders of lag compensation, I turned away from them as they changed direction to hit my back.

As a note, I'd keep some things in case you ever do plan on coming back.

If you're actually looking to get other stuff for your items, you could try tf2outpost.
Otherwise just raffle it or something.
