Server that force you to teleport somewhere else if you enter that red area as a Blu. (Even as Spy or Soldier) And server that force you to switch team by killing you with a console command and not letting to join the other team back. Server that force you to show an motd. Server that still use the 12345 key to vote, Or server that tell you "don't press those button like an idiot" with the 6789 button to vote. (I still use the 123 button to switch weapon) Edit: The server that kick you randomly because someone needed a slot to play. Also, hearing a friend of mine that is so happy to have bought a premium account... On a Nighteam server....
I don't mind reserved slots on servers as much because it lets admins get on quickly. It also acts as an incentive to help pay for the server without having basically cheats. Also keyboard weapon switching ftw. One thing I hate is servers that use !votekick or !rtv instead of the valve voting system. People can't be bothered to press a number with the normal one, much less the !rtv or !votekick. Which means you're stuck with losers or a dumb map until they leave or map change.
I was on Upward, playing Heavy Weapons Guy on RED, and this spy main (he has an unusual, so I'm assuming) joins BLU. He's dead ringering, and killing a few of the less observant players. I dominate him since he's pretty predictable, not bad, just rather vanilla in terms of playing. He asserts I must have a script cheat. I say I don't, he insists I must because "how can you kill me when I decloak?!" I tell him the dead ringer makes a ridiculously loud decloak sound. He still insists that I'm wall hacking. He says "ok, we'll test it" He stands on a rock out in the open, I see him and kill him. "HA! YOU ARE HACKING, YOU SAW ME. HACKS!!!" I don't have anything to say. He tries to ban me not once but THRICE. He fails on all tries. He goes sniper, stands in spawn and proceeds to kill me several times, but still insists I'm hacking. I guess being an observant heavy just isn't a thing anymore, I must be hacking.
using brassbeast against non-braindead people is still awful. not the buff it needed ditto with booties
To leave a game, you click esc and then click disconnect. After you disconnect, there will be a quit button right where the disconnect button was. I keep accidentally double-clicking when i want to leave a game and subsequently I kick myself out of Tf2. It's probably just my fault but it still really annoys me Dx
using brassbeast against non-braindead people is still awful. not the buff it needed ditto with booties
I agree on the brass beast, but the booties got just the buff they needed. Now I don't see 90% of demoknights equipped with a grenade lanucher anymore so the instant they fail at one-shotting you with their melee they'd whip out their grenade launcher and shoot you with it.
an item isn't "fixed" only because it gains more popularity. more speed just makes it obnoxious as hell without helping the demo in scenarios where some brains and tactics are required because the enemy will keep you at bay.
So yesterday i bought 7 MvM tickets and i'm almost finished with Mecha Engine, but everytime i join M.E there's always a bunch of bad players and little times i'll find a competent team. Well i guess it's to be expected since most people play Two Cities.
If you use the base jumper, you should not get market garden crits.
If you use the base jumper, you should not get market garden crits.
Eh, the base jumper makes it so the soldier can't do one of the things that makes a rocket jumper/gardener soldier a potential threat out of the air - equipping a shotgun. I'd say it's fine.
an item isn't "fixed" only because it gains more popularity. more speed just makes it obnoxious as hell without helping the demo in scenarios where some brains and tactics are required because the enemy will keep you at bay.
I personaly love the bootie + quickie launcher combo. Gameplay is much more fast paced with faster speed, faster bomb arm time and quicker charge for long distance stickies. Extra health also aids this reckless play style.
I'd like to talk about a very specific annoyance as a MvM player and my favorite mod of all time: playing as a robot. It doesn't cosist of just having a robot skin available, but be part of the mechanical menace, an endless invasion to overrun Mann Co and the Mercs (but usually the other way around). It's a bit strange to say, but I like being an androïd (only in video games, I'm not a transhumanist) The original mod was fun but had flaws: everyone rushed the slots on the Blu team as soon as possible (but as I have a fast computer...) and, since the assigned robot was random, tried to spawn as a Giant. Good luck beating the first wave of Doe's Drill (normal difficulty) with a Giant Heavy & Medic combo on the loose. Then Steampipe arrived and broke everything. Later, a new version of the mod was released, but was and still is only available on ThisLD servers. I'm not denigrating them, as they improved it: you can only select a robot already on the field and the access to this feature costs premium points (which you can obtain easily by playing). Unfortunately, a big problem arises. Only custom mission are played and they are utterly terrible: extremely long waves of stupid and badly coded standard robots (like microscopic Scouts or useless Spies with only the Sapper), unlimited money and RTD (I'm not sure about that last one). Playing either side has become boring and tedious. I'll always remember a wave that displayed Tank icons, but on a white background. I expected to fight tiny Tanks, but instead I faced sereval large Loch-n-Load and Chargin' Targe Demomen, with absurdly high health, damage and speed boosts. Not fun at all. To this day, I always regrett the demise of this incredibly enjoyable mod, only due to poor mission composing. That's a pity. In the case any ThisLD server operator reads this, I beg you to propose standard missions (or at least less horrible ones). Meanwhile, I'll play standard MvM.
the reason those 30wave missions are popular because they don't try to be challenging. They just throw 30k at you and repeat the same waves over and over again since nobody will ever want to sink enough time to actually clear all waves

Probably sound a bit rude, but as an engineer I really really really hate people who are just learning engineer. They build their sentries in odd spots, take up your spots, or are just plain annoying by mooching off your dispenser. Nothing is worse than seeing a nest of perfectly fine sentries while your sentry is being sapped or damaged a few feet over. They simply could not care less about what happens to the tele being sapped right next to them as long as it's not theirs.
Sapped buildings should give call out bubbles to friendly engineers, like the medic bubbles.
I have yet to see why anyone plays on the 10 player infinite money servers that can't switch their mission difficulty so they play Decoy Normal
Last week me and my friends played on there as MvM robots gave souls. That was an easy way to get a gold gargoyle.
mannpower is terrible but i just keep going back! help

Nothing like turning the corner in an area that is nowhere near the objective to pick up a health pack only to run smack dab into a sentry that has no reason what so ever to be there beyond the fact that they don't have any idea where to build. Sure you may only die to it once, after that you know its there but it's annoying none the less. There's also always the oh so helpful "Build on the last point as soon as the match starts" engies.
mannpower is terrible but i just keep going back! help
crit a cola + any melee + the powerup that makes you hit harder It's really overpowered if you know how to maneuver assfucking rockets or fire
If you use the base jumper, you should not get market garden crits.
Yes, if you sacrifice your secondary firepower or utility of a Concheror/Buffbanner/whatever to become a slow moving, easy to hit target, you shouldn't get Marlket Garden crits.
Yes, if you sacrifice your secondary firepower or utility of a Concheror/Buffbanner/whatever to become a slow moving, easy to hit target, you shouldn't get Marlket Garden crits.
Personally I think there should be a reverse mini-crits are now crits attribute to it.
Valve needs to put Mannpower back in beta, it's obviously not done yet. Hell, I think that the gamemode should never have existed in the first place, it's completely awful. First off, the entire gamemode comes down to "Who can get the OP power-up first", and whoever gets it wins the whole game. Vampire Pyros were nerfed but are still near impossible to deal with unless you have a powerup yourself, and at that point you're going to be spawncamped to hell. There are so many other powerups that are just complete bullshit that the gamemode is simply unplayable until you get something good, in which case you get to kill everyone, which could be seen as fun to some, but to me, I can't have fun if I know the way I'm having fun is cheap and nearly impossible to counter by the enemy team, it feels like being a hacker in that regard. Grappling Hooks are kinda fun to use, but they're too easily abused by Pyros and Demoknights for me to really like them being there, anymore. And not that it's any fault of the gamemode, but goddamn you really really have to be trying to find a Mannpower server that's not populated by solely idiots.
Valve should put Mannpower back where it came from, up their asses.
Honestly, i would have preferred Asteroid instead of Mannpower, hell they could have just put some robots in some pre existing maps such ctf and work a bit with those since that mode is ctf with score bots.
I don't care too much for Mannpower, but I don't get a lot of the hate. At least it's not as boring as normal Capture the Flag.
I played mannpower once a few months after it came out. I really don't see the appeal it was very boring and easy.
I like grapling hooks [editline]15th November 2015[/editline] And creative freedom of the maps. I dunno, I really like the sky-high and hard to reach position of the platforms.
I don't care too much for Mannpower, but I don't get a lot of the hate. At least it's not as boring as normal Capture the Flag.
It's simply barebones and messy and the powerups don't help it either.
I just need a fully finished Asteroid. That's all. Cactus Canyon works too.
stock TF2 has a hundred ways to make players get unbelievable, "unfair" kills. mannpower just multiplies this tenfold. and I still don't understand what the random hook is there for. what does it have to do with anything when power-ups are the main theme of the mode.
