A day in the life of me playing medik.
[t]http://oi64.tinypic.com/2lw3sbk.jpg[/t]
So, this didn't happen extremely recently, but basically, me and my friend are playing with eachother, and we usually do really well together so it's a ton of fun, however success is not guarenteed, as seen in the above true story. MORAL: Never uber anyone but the one guy on your friends list that is actually good at TF2.
btw if anyone wants to see their their tf2 character put into my signature ms paint style please tell me i need things to do
Don't alt-tab. This crashes it.
It won't crash as long as you are in Windowed Borderless mode.

I don't believe this works on Linux.
And it only affects me on mapchange.
Went through this whole thread, phew that was long.
Summary: Many dicks around.
Is it just me or my place is much friendlier than others?
E.g:Chat flooded with GGs after round
So i alt-tabbed out after leaving a server and tried going to another community server (not alt-tabbing out btw), only for it to almost finish loading and then crashing itself. :why:
Playing Engineer in pubs.
I set my sentry up in a good spot and spy/scout kills start piling up.
An engineer with a gibus then walks up and builds a sentry next to mine. I ask him to move his sentry to another entrance but he doesn't do anything.
Another engie came eventually.
Soon I heard nothing but "BUILDINBUILDINBUILDINBUILDINBUILDINBUILDINBUILDIN"

Then you end up with this:
Well i mean i have a bunch of mods, mostly fixes and some of them being for weapon replacements but i think that either i should delete/re-install TF2. I really hope there is a way to fix this. It's really annoying.
If you're crashing when loading a new server and it's a Valve server, it's due to your mods. Only way to fix it is to disable the mods.

This guy just... sat here wrangeling his sentry and shooting it in the general direction of the cart. Enemies or no, he was firing away, and even when there was someone to shoot at he generally missed.

I've been mostly playing on community servers as of late. Also Nice HUD.
I've been mostly playing on community servers as of late. Also Nice HUD.
Well it's caused by Valve's sv_pure settings so if the servers haven't bothered to change it then that could still be the cause. Alternatively it could be a mod conflict or a mod not compatible with recent updates for whatever reason.
Servers with votes disabled with obvious hackers on them
What map is that?
you called?
That one try hard thats dominating everyone
With how awful some pubs can be, it can be kinda hard not to do that.
That one try hard thats dominating everyone
You say that like trying hard is a bad thing, especially in a game where the objective is to 'try hard' and win.
Unless by 'try hard' you mean 'someone who is spamming a certain tactic just to get to the top of the scoreboard' in which case, that's not being a 'try hard', because they're not trying hard. It's not hard to spam one move or tactic over and over again.
Seriously, though, and this applies to practically every other game too, I hate it when people use 'try hard' as an excuse for their own failures, or just to insult someone who is doing better than them. I mean, the whole point of the game is to win, and, in order to win, you have to try hard. Even if someone else is beating you, chances are, they're not trying to win any harder than you are, they're just better at the game.
Also, just to clarify, I'm talking about individual people, not the whole team. If you consider their whole team vs yours, then yes, they could be trying more or less than you.
duck-jump spammers make my blood boil
especially because it doesn't even help in most situations. it does nothing but label them as tools.
it's part of that little mentality where one tries to grasp every single tiny little "advantage" they can to be ~the best~. no thanks.

I can think of tons of situations where you can duck jump onto things you cant normally jump onto.
What are you even talking about.
He is talking about people who spam crouch repeatable mid-jump to fuck around with their hitboxes. The hitbox will not fit the character model perfectly and can make snipers "miss" a shot even if they hit their head.
There is even a video about this somewhere.

Duckjump spam is how you counter demomen.
Even if you can't see them coming, they detonate a sticky at your feet, you go flying off and away from their reach.
[editline]22nd November 2015[/editline]
Also yeah it counters snipers.
Basically, it solves most of the problems people seem to have but somehow I never do.
They limited ducking in midair to only be twice, right? Or am I missing something here

vs really good players, duckjumping will infact handicap you because it basically locks you into a specific direction for a half a second and make you predictable since they are so used to it.
it takes a lonnnnng while to realize good WASD movement is way way better than duckjumps against decent people. that took me years personally.
of course all this stuff doesn't apply to clowns that would miss you even if you walked in a line anyway.
the proper uses of DJ is probably just to reduce self damage for explosives, avoid arrow headshots and climb on things. And maybe surf knockback. everything else is unecessary.
Well you said it, it's pretty damn important to master considering how often you need it.
It's still fun to do nonstop. Like switching between melee and gun as Spy.
When you die as medic and nobody on your team seems to even noticed. :pudge:
You can stop yelling medic at my lifeless corpse any time guys.

People seriously overestimate medics
Some guy who was horrid at rocking jumping was getting pissed because I wasn't 24/7 pocketing him and I was doing the outrageous act of supporting my teammates defending a point
seriously, stop complaining that i'm not gonna go out of my way (past multiple enemies, a sentry, and onto ANOTHER point) to heal your ass
you never heal rocket jumping dudes, or at least always put them on low priority.
you never heal rocket jumping dudes, or at least always put them on low priority.
You don't pocket them, yes. But as far as overheals go, they should be among the top priorities
EDIT:
Unless you mean Rocket Jumper + whatever ones, then yes, those are pretty much useless
People who go off from your team and still insist that you come to them and heal them. No, I'm not running across the map to heal you.
