I hate playing Medic

I play Medic way too much, I only do it because I'm the only guy who ever seems to do so on pubs, and in a way it's nice to know that I'm helping make other's experience better, but yeah, some people get a bit TOO confortable with the fact that they have someone on the server who's pretty much only there to make sure they don't die. Dirty job, but someone's gotta do it, ect. You know, slightly unrelated, but if more people in Pub actually realized the dispenser heals people then they probably wouldn't be so clingy with their Medics, whenever I set my dispenser up someplace as Engineer half the time they completely ignore it and run up to take a Health Pack, and it's even worse when they pick up my ammo Crate even though they can just get free infinte ammo from my dispenser and not have to gimp me. Playing Medic is really fun if you do it with a friend or on a actually capable team, otherwise just don't bother.

Thought you meant Gunboats-using Sollies at first, who jump around like they're on crack and suicide bomb at the first opportunity they can get. Those are annoying to follow and heal as well, because the moment you put your Medi Beam on them they suddenly disappear into thin air, leaving you alone with whoever was surrounding you at that moment. (Doesn't help that I'm [i]that[/i] Soldier as well, because I can't aim with hitscans and have the self-preservation instincts of a lemming)

Why are you using quickplay over the server browser?

Server browser is clunky shit. Quick refresh is confusing, location field is meaningless, Simplified list barely works, tag searching is strict and unreliable. That said, it's good for community servers and keeping favorites/history. Honestly, it sounds like you aren't using that brain of yours to realize Quickplay has its strengths and weaknesses. It's perfect for Valve servers for example, and automatically searches for low ping populated servers with easy gamemode filtering. You don't have to deal with a wall of dropdown and text fields, which no one wants to do and thank god at least the server browser remembers your settings (most of the time).

I'm coming from days of HL2 DM where server browser was all there was to it and even with some minor knowledge of how to use it, I find it hundred times more flexible than Quickplay ever could be. And besides that, it never works for me. If I use Quickplay, I get message saying no servers match my criteria or I'm dumped into US servers, if I click show servers, upon attempting to join one I get error more often than not. iirc the boston basher doesn't make you bleed if you "hit" something and somehow do no damage.

Remember that you get 20% damage reduction and -20% status effect duration when cloaked. [editline]23rd November 2015[/editline] Getting crit then cloaking does kill you anyway, though. server browser is great when you're aware official servers aren't an option. if you're in the US/EU(or any other place with actual support) where there's plenty of valve servers to enjoy, sure, it just works. otherwise, its pure garbage and there is no reason to use it.
