I hate the idea when one player says his bind shit in chat, the other players feel obliged to spam their own; it just turns into a clusterfuck in the chatbox.
friendly heavies. its a love-hate relationship though. you always get them when you need them killing shit, but they're always fun to kill and mess with - and the following "IM FRIENDLY DONT KILL ME" reaction is always priceless.
People who blow my cover. I would love to try and snipe.. Oh, Idunno, the sentry killing you all, but nope. Mr. Soldier or Heavy just has to push me aside and make it CLEAR that he's behind that doorway! Better call over the demos and soldiers to unload ALL of their rockets and grenades!
Every single "random crits are fair and balanced" chat bind out there. I swear I see this stuff on every server I join. Complaining about them is not doing anything about the problem, just annoying other players.
"It's just a game hun." Yes, a game where my team is trying their best to win but cannot win thanks to your 2 sentry nests and 3 6s Plat players who went puff n sting Pyro. You know, just a game.
I came across this quote in CogSci from ludologist Jesper Juul.
In a way, I would like to excise from the English language the phrase 'just a game,' because it pretends something that is not true, that failure is neutral as long as it happens in a game.
it annoys me how the threat and skill set of a sniper doesn't translate well onto other classes. what I mean is when a good player that is considerably dangerous as a sniper decides to switch to another class and they suddenly turn into a laughable piece of crap that you now run over like a joke. Like they completely turned into another different player. I guess i am outraged how much impact a sniper has by simply "being there" compared to other classes that actually need to prove their worth to be a threat.

That and him to produce an impact on the enemy team it's just a point and click to do anything. Rather than a Soldier that needs to be permanently in the middle of the fight to be a successful class. Thus putting him at risk to counter the enemy team. It's arguably all about preference but it's laughable when a player can't really play an FPS well unless they're sat miles away from a threat...
Valve needs to add a medal slot. It sucks you have to give up one of your three slots when you know for a fact medals won't conflict anyway.
I think I understand the turbine hate better now. It's because 90% of turbine servers are 32 players, and that alone is overwhelming cancer regardless of the map. When you can't get a single pick without having to deal with 3 players at once around every corner, personal skill just doesn't exist.
Sure, but ctf is an awful gamemode for TF2 anyway. Because you have to attack and defend at the same time, but the place to attack is on one side of the map and the place to defend is on the other side, you end up with players distributed randomly across the map, not focusing on any real objective. The design of the gamemode does nothing to encourage actual teamplay, and the inevitable sentries put people trying to lone-wolf it at a huge disadvantage, so you just end up bashing your head against a brick wall until you get lucky and several people happen to push into their intel at the same time.
So i was playing on a skial KOTH_Harvest server and i was mad milking people/taking out sentries with the Shortstop and some guy tried to votekick me 2-3 times cause i wasn't on the point. Not to mention they called me a faggot and spammed my profile/2 screenshots saying i was a piece of shit :v: EDIT: This guy is pure salt.

It's a win-win situation, really - enemy is missing a player and you are getting free medkits. ...unless they are on your team :vs:
i kill them on sight. fuckers are better off playing minecraft if they want to be friendlies.
whenever I'm in a 1vs2 or 1vs3 situation, I always get all of them down to like 30 hp. so many shots that would destroy one person a dozen times over. actually killing one before I go down though? nah. not happening.
i kill them on sight. fuckers are better off playing minecraft if they want to be friendlies.
FP needs a salt rating
FP needs a salt rating
That would start even more dumb arguments than Dumb. Also how I deal with friendly depends entirely on my mood and how serious everyone else is playing. If everyone is goofing off or playing badly, or I'm in a good mood, I'll leave them alone or at least just shoot them once every time I pass by them. If I'm in a bad mood, or it's a really good match and everyone else is playing really well, free points! Also I always leave friendly Heavies alive long enough to give me a sandwich.
I only leave friendly heavies alive if it's clear they're much better than me and would destroy me if I didn't.
People who upload videos of newer players and laughing at them for their every mistake they made. I understand why they might be bad, but show some fucking respect. I'm sorry, but the way F2Ps / new players is utterly disgusting.

That spy that runs around flailing his knife at his own teammates, the engie that literally runs to the last point before the match even starts, or the soldier who doesn't read weapon descriptions and tries to use a rocket jumper to kill a sentry. It's less because laughing at them because they are new and more because it's just funny to watch.
are you telling me this isn't hilarious
That trick-stabbing spy at the end gets me every time.
are you telling me this isn't hilarious
I was mostly referring to people who do it more directly about the player, without censoring their names. Something along the lines of "why are you trying to shoot X, you should be shooting Y" But at the end of the day, its my opinion, so what do you expect?
Nothing short of excellence, soldier.
The Original. I don't know why, but I despise this weapon. I think it's ugly, obnoxious, and the sound. Oh god the sound it makes! It's so... flat, and dull, and lifeless, ugh. And this may be a sweeping generalization, but every single soldier I've met whose used the Original as a main has been a jumped-up "better-than-thou" wannabe pubstomper who thinks they're hot shit because they can shoot the ground near people's feet. It's worse than a Hales Own Australium, in my opinion.
I think the sound it makes sounds p cool imo. Other than the looks and sounds I feel like the Original is identical to the stocket launcher (which is the default)
Other than the looks and sounds I feel like the Original is identical to the stocket launcher (which is the default)
Centres the rocket direction whereas the stock fires it from the side of the screen. Original makes it basically piss easy to direct hit players.
Centres the rocket direction whereas the stock fires it from the side of the screen. I've been using the Original ever since it came out, so I'm more used to it, but if I switch to the default or any of the sidegrades, I don't feel like anything changed, aiming ease-wise.

The other time I can't hit anything with Original and when I change to stock my aim instantly improves. I can't explain this.

For whatever reason I sometimes find it more "natural" to aim with stock than with the Original, and when I switch back some other day I suddenly realize that Original feels more intuitive. Cue me switching back and forth for the next few weeks. Same with rocket jumping, though in both cases I'm much more used to the rocket coming out of the middle, rather than either side.
