I hate the Sniper shields. They're just counterplay against specific classes without doing anything for it or being remotely interesting. It just stops those classes from being effective on you, and that's it.
To be fair, a Spy could easily counter a Razorback with a revolver, especially with the Ambassador.
To be fair, a Spy could easily counter a Razorback with a revolver, especially with the Ambassador.
and that is why i do not like the razorback
Dont play braindead grapple hook trade server mode and expect competent players next time. Honestly the only thing I like about mannpower was that it might take the lel friendly, TDM, anti team type players away from regular game modes.
I don't. I use them because contracts work on them and powerups make them easier than ever before
and that is why i do not like the razorback
For me the razorback gives me some false sense of security that makes me aim better :v: A spy can't really shoot you in the back if you're close to a sentry or something either.
I know this might seem like something minor to complain about, but is it just me or does the Heavy's wrist look messed up when he's holding the shotgun? It looks weird to me.
Yeah. And he has hand problems while holding the Tomislav, too. I think the gun even clips through his hands if your viewmodel fov is higher than the stock values.
Yeah. And he has hand problems while holding the Tomislav, too. I think the gun even clips through his hands if your viewmodel fov is higher than the stock values.
Not just with Tomislav but with all other guns as well. There's a fix for it in Bl8demast3r's 70 FOV pack though.
I just got a batsaber and it says it's loaned. what?
I just got a batsaber and it says it's loaned. what?
It's a visual bug, it'll go away soon. Your item is safe.
[t]https://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/6/67/Backpack_Scoper's_Smoke.png?t=20140619093005[/t][t]https://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/4/4b/Backpack_Cuban_Bristle_Crisis.png?t=20151030124643[/t] These don't have the Genteel Smoking Effect and that bugs me
Genteel Smoking effect makes the item spazz arround when you move a single inch, so it is much better if they stay without that effect IMO.
pub pyros still don't extinguish teammates even after the airblast-health mechanic that rewards them for doing their job
They could have made airblasting a teammate automatically win the round for that team and people still wouldn't do it
To be fair, a Spy could easily counter a Razorback with a revolver, especially with the Ambassador.
I always hear this, but that's only really ever an option when the Sniper is alone, there's no sentries near, and the teammates are completely deaf. Most of the time you just end up ignoring the Sniper altogether and go for someone else.

I've killed more than my fair share of Spies who tried to shoot me while I'm on the move. It's an item that forces the Spy to play on the Sniper's terms. All it takes is for a mindful sniper to succeed is to stay near other teammates, stay moving, and stay alert. The Spy won't be able to engage with him unless it's in a firefight. When playing an aggressive Sniper, having the peace of mind of not instantly dying is amazing. The only real threat is either another sniper or finding yourself in a bad position with a combat class.
I love the razorback. Is great if you are moving along with your team and you are actually mindful of your surroundings. A good sniper with a razorback is a living nightmare. Specially in King of the hill maps where they can cover much more ground.

There's no interactivity there, it's just on your back and that's it.

Not long ago I had an MvM game where I was playing Spy (Heresy, I know :v: ), I was the first to join anyway and Spy/Sniper are the only classes I know how to play properly, and besides, 6 out of my 10 tours on two cities were played as Spy, so it's not like I was going in blind. Anyway, I joined, picked Spy and almost instantly I had 4 people yell "wtf spy omfg noob" "no spy!!" "spy go -insert meta class and extreme amounts of exclamation marks here-". As usual. Except that 3 of those people were in the 1-5 tours range, the 4th had no tours. The only person who was chill about the whole thing had 36 tours and Insisted that I stay Spy. This isn't the first time that I get verbally abused for picking Spy, but this specific case left me in surprise, since unlike the norm where players with more tours than me (often 50+ more tours) yell at me and those with less are chill, for the first time, it was in reverse. Have we reached the point where the Spy is so taboo that even people who are complete newbies to MvM go apeshit at the mere sight of one?

If the Sniper is not particularly mobile or wary, the Razorback is nothing more than a minor annoyance to the Spy. The only time the weapon is a truly obnoxious obstacle is if the Sniper is sitting pretty next to a sentry or something and taking potshots. Then of course the thing's virtually useless if there's no Spy present, although it does have the psychological warfare that psyches people out of even going Spy if they notice that an annoying sniper has the razorback and instead opt for something a bit more direct. Danger Shield on the other hand requires no change in playstyle to be effective and acts as a braindead easy middle-finger to the #1 counter to your shenanigans that you also counter. It changes the tried and true mantra of "he who clicks first, wins" into "he who equips this thing can click second and win." On top of that, it also is functional outside of that class-based matchup: providing extra padding against all damage sources except for explosives (at which point the health bonus kinda cancels the damage penalty out).
the amount of cocky scout mains annoy the shit out of me. I really hate generalizing even though im doing it now, but the majority of scouts ive 1v1ed on mge or have seen in pub servers are so cocky that it is hard to find the minority of the nicer ones. not to call out anyone who is a nice person that mains scout though. its okay to win mge matches or top the scoreboard whenever you join a server, ive been there done that, but you dont need to be arses. i have some really nasty stories in the past about scout mains that involves a lot of bullying and harassment from them to me
Yeah the danger shield is hilarious.. I can't even be frustrated, generally the sniper who's using it just runs away and it's like "okay bye for a few seconds" sometimes that means you get to charge a shot for when he comes back, otherwise it's rinse and repeat
I find it funny when sniper mains insult the danger shield while wearing the razorback, which is just as broken and annoying
I still don't think that argues for the thing existing at all - there's still no real counterplay from the Sniper there except "don't be alone, camping" which is just generally useful advice. Even if it'd be something as stupid as a backpack that goes beep whenever someone is behind you at least you'd need to actually react.
Even if it'd be something as stupid as a backpack that goes beep whenever someone is behind you at least you'd need to actually react.
Remind me of one of the first time I played TF2, it was on mountain lab, I was spy, and I tried to backstab a razorback sniper because I didn't know what it was. The shield broke making a shitload of noise, I thought "shit I'm dead" but the sniper didn't react so I backstabbed him again. :v:
To be fair, the decloaking noise is wildly inconsistent and you have no idea how loud it is to the person.
Generally if you decloak and the guy turns around, he probably heard you. If he's cheating, he won't let you get past cloaked. Turn a corner, cloaked or not, dude snuffs you out like a candle.
