My favourite so far is heavies that have homing bullets and can hit you around walls.
I seem to get a lot of that (I think anyway) Why is that?
I seem to get a lot of that (I think anyway) Why is that?
It's a side effect of how lag compensation works in the source engine (and probably many other engines too)
It doesn't change the fact the phlog is a stupidly designed weapon.
https://www.reddit.com/r/tf2/comments/41be1l/psa_shoot_at_phlogs_dont_just_run_for_fucks_sake/ Shit like this, of course the guy using it thinks it's not OP or anything. It's like saying "If you want to live forever, simply don't die" It just doesn't work like that.
As condescending as this thread you've linked is, it is very easy to kill a Plog pyro right after their uber, especially if you've got some way to instantly kill them (backstab/headshot/stickies/taunt kill). The Phlog is hardly what I'd call a "well thought out" weapon. It's designed to appeal to the people who like things simple and straightforward (like me!). But overpowered it certainly ain't. I die far more often to soldiers and demomen using stock RL/sticky spam than I do to Phlog pyros.
I only ever die to phlog pyros when they ambush me around a corner, aka what a pyro should be doing. You gotta be an extra kind of stupid to die to a phlog pyro in any other kind of situation tbh.
I wish majority of my teammates were that competent.
It just pisses me off when they have the crits, which isn't uncommon on valve servers which I play exclusively nowadays
If that kind of thing annoys you, start playing lobbies or seek out your local community server - god knows they need you.
People moaning about their teammates constantly. Though I tend to do it passively aggressively by mentioning how many snipers or spies we have ( lets be honest, that's the key issue) and laughing. Also, being on a team that is dominating but is not interested in a scramble. it's dull. Disconnect
People who refuse to use English to communicate, especially in MvM, and instead keep posting messages in their own language. Even worse when they use Polish because this makes me feel both annoyed and ashamed.
When people ignore everyone else but you and do everything they can to kill just you. Then they laugh every time they kill you while being pocketed with a quick-fix and talk about how shit you are. I've got 800 hours in seven years. Like damn, why be such a bully? It's really hard to enjoy playing and trying to improve when people just go absolutely out of their way to kill you.
The outlines on first 10 seconds/spectator cam really fuck over Spy.
It seems Valve has forgotten that strangeifiers exist I just want my strange Iron Curtain...
The outlines on first 10 seconds/spectator cam really fuck over Spy.
I've had quite a few times where a teamate out in a very odd part of the map, like a Pyro behind a wall away from the fight or a Sniper standing still with no line of sight to speak of. I get why it was implemented but still it just gives another hamper to Spy he really doesn't need.
Honestly the one thing with the phlog is that it basically punishes you for not only your mistakes, but also your team's mistakes. All it takes is one potato to let a pyro come around a corner with crits, but this really goes for any charge-based weapon that charges with damage, like the soldier banners. I like it as a weapon anyway. It actually makes people run away from a pyro trying to fight them in CQC, and the non-crit roasting is just better in general after the damage falloff change so. But with the phlog it's even more evident, as "w+m1" is a very easy tactic to counter for any remotely competent player. Scorch shot spam is hard to do much about though :v:

Sticky bombs, pipes, huntsmen arrows. Hell, even default soldier rockets. Anything projectile based with a big hitbox or explosive damage is pretty easy to spam because you can literally fire and forget.

looks like a YER spy spawncamped that lime spy. should honestly be a "stuff you love" thing

So, about the next issue of the Team Fortress 2 comic ...
Except those take 600 damage to charge, while the phlog takes 200. Should be more like 400.
They also require you to give up your shotgun.
Except those take 600 damage to charge, while the phlog takes 200.
and phlog makes you give up airblast
Which half of the universe does not even use? :v:
Which half of the universe does not even use? :v:
don't even try arguing with these people
don't even try arguing with these people
I refuse, fine sire! I must bash, insult and most likely offend these un-holy advesaries until my point is to be considered correct! Fancy stuff aside, the fact that half of the Valve servers i go on is unbalanced really annoys me. I want both teams to have fun, damnit!
don't even try arguing with these people
By these people you mean the ones smart enough to walk away from the uber taunt pyro, rather than get up close and try to kill him with a friendly hug?
By these people you mean the ones smart enough to walk away from the uber taunt pyro, rather than get up close and try to kill him with a friendly hug?
If you're armed with a backburner you can REALLY fuck up a phlog, I taught a guy that lesson during a contract. I'm guessing he was about to spawncamp too, the cheeky bastard.
not even going to argue but remember smart pyros mmph where you don't see them
And use voice commands to mask the battle cry!
not even going to argue but remember smart pyros mmph where you don't see them
In which case he successfully ambushed you and deserved the kill didnt he. Regular flames while backpedaling will actually out damage crit flames if you get your positioning right, and it only takes 2, maybe 3 airblasts to deny a phlog pyro from killing anyone with his crits
I really hate how tf2 doesn't decide a teleporter is invalid until AFTER you build it. built one here only for a player to teleport and the game go "oh wait you're not supposed to build here better destroy the exit!"
