CTF, both teams are tied 1-1, match is about to end. Your team just manages to steal their intel, just mere seconds left, making it 2-1. GET FUCKED, THE OTHER TEAM WINS BECAUSE THEY HAD MORE POINTS LOL Such a stupid system
You know where this rule's far worse? 5CP maps. Even if a team is down to their last cap, barely holding on, they'll win the round if they collectively had more points when the timer ends. Basically, it rewards teams for turtling up and just holding on to last (where they're often gonna get more kills and points just letting enemies come to them), even if they've had 3 level 3s at spawn from the get go and never tried to actually take mid and win the game, and fails to reward teams with the balls and offensive mentality that successfully took middle and many times even the enemy's 2nd. Basically, when the timer runs out on a CP map, whichever team holds more control points should win. This just makes way too much sense for Valve to ever bother implementing the change, I guess.
People that "accidentally" hold down their push to talk buttons. Nothing like hearing just long bouts of static broken up by someone yelling in the background.
Today was the day i got a Frontier Justice contract. This is the same day that i both saw the first really good Demoman and a good Spy on a Valve pub in many weeks. Yes, they were both playing against me. Yes, it did take about 4-5 rounds of Badwater to get the bonus points, which required 6 revenge kills.
When you die when you're the only medic on your team and people spend the next half a minute spamming their E calls like it would somehow bring you back like a fucking Pokemon movie miracle.
I hate Hightower's stigmas. The don't cap, don't play mini, don't pass go, don't play heavy, don't collect 200$... Also I wish like almost all valve servers that ran PLR in my nice ping level wouldn't be Hightower, and then when I find one that isn't hightower people automatically vote for hightower.
Hightower is one of Heavy's best maps though, especially if you use Brass Beast or Natascha and stay on the bottom level and in the corridors. :v: Personally, the power creep has ruined hightower for me though because the last refuge for using Mantreads "viably" is long gone thanks to the BASE Jumper and weapons like the bazooka and buffed reserve shooter ruining most of the pleasure in losing a reliable secondary there. That's to ignore those weapons also make capping absolutely horrible since the map was a so-bad-it's-good state before and now it's basically so-bad-it's-awful thanks to the spamomatic weapons being able to safely keep the cart clear from the tower or their own sniper balcony.
though because the last refuge for using Mantreads "viably" is long gone thanks to the BASE Jumper
??? they have nothing in common. treads is also never viable outside of an AFK player or MGE.
Hightower is my favorite map because A: how good it is for deathmatching and using silly weapons like RJ+Bison and B: how easy it is to make salty tryhards cry by just repeatedly capping the cart over and over as a Natascha Heavy and surviving all the spam thrown at you to do so.
The thing that annoys me most right now would have to be "Extend map?" It's like you go through a few maps, and then someone starts an extend map vote, and 5 minutes later someone else does, and they pass 90% of the time, and it turns into a 24/7 map. Can't there just be dedicated Valve servers for that? Also, I really wish Chicago Valve servers were a thing.
The best use of extend map is when it's called in 24/7 <MAP> servers. I see it more often than I should.
??? they have nothing in common. treads is also never viable outside of an AFK player or MGE.
Yes, they do. Trolldier vs Trolldier inevitably makes the one with the BASE Jumper have a massive advantage, and the utility of being able to stop fall damage by braking as you near the ground is too effective in comparison to the Mantreads to logically choose Mantreads anymore. Mantreads were actually usable up until about 2012 safely on hightower, but there are too many weapons like the Crit-a-Cola, airsniping Reserve Shooters, Beggar's Bazooka spam and rev resistance Natascha to viably do that anymore even as a fun thing without inhibiting yourself to the point of struggling to escape and causing self displeasure. Now, the only real places to use them are in arena mode, thunder mountain stage 3 and badlands 2nd/4th.
Mantreads were always shit. There was a weapon IN THE SAME UPDATE that filled its role better.
what the hell is trolldier vs trolldier
Rocket jumper, BASE/Gunboats, market gardener
steam maintenance
Rocket jumper, BASE/Gunboats, market gardener
Why would you use the gunboats with the jumper. Also the BASE is for soldiers that don't know how to rocket jump.
Why would you use the gunboats with the jumper. Also the BASE is for soldiers that don't know how to rocket jump.
So you only use the Market Gardener. Before you say anything else, yes, it is stupid.

is airblasting the direct hit at all possible? I don't remember ever pulling it off
is airblasting the direct hit at all possible? I don't remember ever pulling it off
If people can airblast Huntsman arrows, it's gotta be possible to reflect the Direct Hit. It annoys me that I'll never be that kind of amazing.
If people can airblast Huntsman arrows, it's gotta be possible to reflect the Direct Hit. It annoys me that I'll never be that kind of amazing.
You do it the way professionals do it and just not let go of M2 until the threat is removed, duh. :v:
is airblasting the direct hit at all possible? I don't remember ever pulling it off
It's entirely possible, it just takes the right timing because of the faster projectile.
DH rockets are some of the easiest reflects because it depends on reflex-reflects in most cases (mouse2 as soon as you think the enemy shoots). you either get it or don't. With normal rockets the slower speed can easily throw you off and you still get splashed even outside of AB range. And unlike huntsman arrows, you can see rockets coming, the launchers have predictable intervals and you don't get one-shot if you fail.
I thought of another thing that pisses me off: The Hero Academy tie-ins that supposedly activate once you buy the game, but don't and can't.
I got reflect-hit by my own cleaver once as scout. Had to stop running and type an amazed congratulations to the lucky/skilled pyro.
I was killed by my own reflected DH rocket once. The killcam zooms in on the pyro and he's just giving me the most perfect "Thanks!" thumbs up I've ever seen. I wasn't even mad

Yeah, many of the promos are ugly/unfitting as hell. Disagree all you want, but I'm really glad stuff like the Hero Academy promos, Batman promos, Bioshock promos, Crafty Hair, Area 451, that Binding of Isaac turd thing etc. is either forgotten at this point or is simply owned/worn by so few people these days. I barely see people wearing Genuines or other typos of promos nowadays. Kinda keeps the visual theme eyesore butchery at acceptable levels.
