need that instant weapon switch, increased move speed and jump height for hanging around your sentrygun, man

because it has nothing to do with random crits

Just tell me. What is the use of this stupid submit thing?

because spy is designed to be in a bad position if people turn around to fight him.
other class melee weapons can get random crits because they can't just pop out of thin air anywhere they want.

It's just a minor visual effect.

I usually get very surprised if a medic manages to hit me with their ubersaw without it critting.
They got like 60% melee crit chance when they've done enough assist damage right?
I had an old mvm colleague invite me to play some expert MVM with him and his pals. They all still regulared mvm and had from hundreds to thousands of tours under their belt so I knew I wouldn't be stuck with shit players. Here were my experiences.
First mission: Mannslaughter. Waves 1 and 2 went smoothly. Bomb got close on wave 1 but it wasn't anything we can't handle. Wave 3 all of a sudden lag spikes hit us like fucking mad and all of our pings reach 800+. The game gets so lag filled so bad and for so long it literally becomes unplayable. We all quit out.
Second mission: Mannslaughter round 2. We have a full party and queue up. We wait for 5 minutes for a server, hoping the extra time means that Gabe would bless us and give us a lag-free server.
Connection failed after 4 retries.
Third mission: Metro Malice. Another 6 people, first and second waves are completed without a hitch. Third wave we get hit with a huge lag spike during the countdown, once again launching our pings into the 800+ range. Because of the spike none of us could unready in time for the countdown, by the time we get our bearings back, the robots have capped point a and have an army of crit boosted robots going to take b. We still experience major lag as a Giant Scout runs right on by and caps. During the ready perior on the retry the game hits us with another lagspike and we disconnect.
What a fucking waste of my time.
for the 3rd time now I had to get rid of a collector weapon because valve nerfed the fun out of an item.
come onnnn I just wanna use a red texted item. leave me alone already.
People continuing to hand Valve money for generic weapon re-skins when there are superior skins online for free. Then these people wonder why there aren't any actual new weapons.
It's just a minor visual effect.
Actually, it's meant for more than a cosmetic visual effect. When you get a contract, the game treats the contract itself as an invisible "crate" style item, that you can't see in your backpack, but if you go to third-party backpack viewer sites, you'll see they have their own icon, and do take up a slot in your inventory.
The "submitting" effect at the end of a contract, after you submit your results, is the same as the countdown when you open a crate. The game needs time to determine the loot you're going to get from the contract through various RNG checks it does during those five seconds, after which, the "item" -- again, the contract -- disappears from your inventory. It's just that for campaigns, opening the "crate" is disguised with a fancy "submitting" bar while it does the checks, rather than a countdown.

I pay for these pass updates because I usually make about 3-5x the investment in steam market money.
I'm pretty sure its the same for most people

But during the TotH's stream they input a console command to make that time go by quicker, so I don't think the RNG needs all that time to decide what you're gonna get.

I feel sad because of my Strange Pro KS Half Zatoichi. I guess it doesn't feel 'fun' anymore because we were used to how it was, and now that it's more balanced, it feels 'underpowered' in comparison. At least I got fun out of it for the year or so that I owned it.

I've opened a crate item and my outdated hud didn't display the backdrop image, thus letting me see my backpack behind the counter. My weapon was immediately placed into my backpack once I clicked uncrate. Countdown is just for suspense.
I now experience crashes every time i open a crate/case, and upon re-startup the item just sits in my backpack. All suspense killed, someting i quite enjoy having while opening cases. Hoping they either fix that or make it an option to enable the old uncrating countdown...

What was changed now?
Only on custom TF2 servers will you be required to download 65MB textures that end up looking like this:
[T]http://i.imgur.com/p24rzNO.png[/T]
It's a fucking 4096x4096 resolution texture that consists of what amounts to 80% of plain color.
that unwrap is so fucking inefficient holy shit

The soldier kept taking the full ammo pack
Yesterday I killed a soldier two times and after both kills he immediately started in chat about how lucky I am, because I always crit with my rockets. I was playing with the Direct Hit and was airshotting him. I explained to him how the DH works, and he didn't say anything after that.
e: This is kind of a badly written post, the point I was trying to make is that I don't know why people immediately start blaming someone/something else instead of stopping to think for a second, or reading the weapon stats on the killcam. He didn't even seem like a new player.

Fun fact: The countdown for all items (gifts, crates, contracts) is purely client-side. The actual submission process for both crates and contracts and it redeeming your loot to your backpack happens nearly instantaneously, from the moment you click the submit/open button. You used to be able to see what you got early if you opened a backpack viewer the moment you opened a crate, now they dropped the timer and made it an animation that's a lot shorter, so it's a moot process.

Really wish that Valve would distinguish the kill icon glow for Crits and mini-crits.
But now since Australiums use the golden glow for their icons, I'm not sure what a decent color for minicrits would be. Soda Popper pink?

There's proper australium colored icons for aussie weapons on the workshop. Use those for aussies and use the yellow glow for minicrits.
I really have to wonder where they'll draw the line on how much an item can be changed after it's been accepted into the game, especially with new models altogether- Even if the new model is objectively superior, it's still not the version that was originally accepted into the game. Dunno why it rubs me the wrong way so much.
Turbine Pubs. Always ends up with either a steamroll or sentries outside every fucking entrance.
May be a bit whiny, but I honestly hate actual skilled players more than hackers in tf2.
Most hackers just suck at the game anyways, and get vote kicked off relatively quickly; while as skilled players know the game very well and are capable of winning the game by themselves. As they aren't cheating, they aren't likely to be votekicked off either.
As a moderate skill level player, this makes it frustrating as well, because usually they always get away, and when you do manage to get them they just respawn a few seconds later. Not to mention TF2's mechanics not allow allow, but actively encourage upsets in balance like this. (random crits, classes such as demo and soldier being able to spam large amounts of damage, etc)

i sort of get what you mean. On CP the other day the teams got scrambled a few times and basically this 1 guy's team won every round easily.
It's frustrating but I also quite like the challenge of playing against better players. He annihilated me most of the time but it was worth it for that one time I got a few scattergun shots on his soldier and sent him fleeing away from the objective. He had a pocket medic as well which, if I was him, would have told to fuck off in the interests of balance.

It only bothers me if they main sniper, every other class theres a way to deal with them, even the vaccinator acts as a great countermeasure to a powerclass with a butt buddy kritz medic, but since I dont have 5,000 hours on sniper theres is nothing I can do against the annoying always overhealed behind 3 heavies 2 soldiers and a sentry longshoot unavoidable instakill man, even if I get close he has either his team or close range quickscope bullshit to save him even though I had to get past his entire damn team to kill him.
