Stuff that Annoys you in TF2: MS Paint Crocket Edition

Heavy in pubs can be unfun when you win too easily, but even more unfun when you're basically carrying your entire team, but it's still just barely not enough.
Typically by the time you mow through a dozen or so enemies in rapid succession, you've taken some hits and need to heal up, and that's when some schlub you killed a minute ago who just respawned shows up randomly and finishes you off just as you reach for your sandvich / a nearby medkit.
Then the rest of their team spawns and steamrolls the rest of your team, which is composed entirely of deranged lemurs playing nothing but Scouts, Snipers, Spies, and Engineers.
Then you spawn and have to fight off a dozen random jerks camping your spawn, and just when you're about to clear the last Soldier he gets a lucky crocket. Then your team respawns, but not even all of them together can finish off a half dead Soldier. You finally respawn, kill the camping jerk, and push out to mid-field where the process starts all over again.
I'm sorry you have a problem with my personal opinion that the Heavy is boring and unfun in pubs. I knew it was a touchy subject and that my earth shattering opinion would rustle some feathers, but I guess I don't know my own strength.
I said killing is fun for me, I mainly argued against you saying heavy is unfair.
I know heavy can be unfun, but for me that's when I'm not killing everything.
Boring and fun are subjective terms, walking slowly killing everything in front of me is fun for me. Other people get a rush by clicking on people's heads from across the map. Other people click on feet. Other people jump and shoot.
But I do disagree with you about heavy being unfair, that was like 2/3s of my post actually.
I don't really have a "problem" with your opinion, just more so the fact that if heavy was unfair and supremely better than other classes in a pub environment, you'd see people playing him much much more.
I know most folks think heavy is unfun to them, but I can't really imagine him being far and above "unfair".
Well when you're fighting deranged lemurs, playing Heavy is most definitely unfair. That's not to say a competant Soldier isn't even less fair, but still.
This is probably is why I play so much Demoknight in pubs, despite considering Heavy my "main" class. Melee is strong, but only in periodic bursts when your charge is up. It's a fun handicap against disorganized teams, and it requires a bit of thinking to isolate targets, engage, and withdraw without dying against enemies that can shoot you from afar.
I really hate how the only thing I can transfer is strange kill counts. I wish I use a skin to slap on my Stickybomb launcher or Scattergun but then I'd have to sacrifice counting kills and getting killstreaks.

I think once again I should echo my old reason why I personally love playing heavy so much:
[T]http://puu.sh/mDPjd.png[/T]
Perhaps I'm the only true Giant Man amongst you tiny baby men.
OT: I can't stand scouts who use the sandman. Nothing says great combat like removing a player's weapon and slowing them down.
I really hate people who complain about charged bodyshots. Almost every time I play as sniper, someone's like "wow learn to aim" whenever I get something other than a headshot on them.
Does it really matter where the bullet hits if it still kills the target?
^ That reminds me of when I play Sniper. I always go for Medics no matter if it ends up being a bodyshot or headshot.. The Medic just HAS to drop.
Best is when you headshot them first, and then don't die, so you quickly bodyshot them afterwards so they die. "WOOOW BODYSHOT".
It's not "unfair", he's a fucking giant loud slow walking human hitbox who can't disengage well. Even with poor pub coordination and perfect positioning, most things still fuck heavy over big time.
If heavy is unfair in pubs for trundling across the map to get close enough to people to begin mowing them down while being immobile then soldier must really be unfair to play against.
Besides killing anybody I see IS fun.
I agree really.
What the other guy said can happen, but even as a scout, if there's a rock in the way I can just peak and shoot a heavy and there isn't that much they can do.
Then add to that demos and soldiers, and heavy isn't so tough.
The problem comes on things like payload when you have 3 or 4 heavies on the cart. Then, as a scout, I'm fucked.

The range of demoknight melee still really annoys me.
They don't always kill me, but they seem to hit me from like 3 metres away time and time again.
I know they'd be pretty useless if they had realistic melee range but even so.
lollichop sure, but the rainblower is way too flashy (not the word I want, but I guess it fits)
not any flashier than a pink flamethrower or gold rocket launcher
not any flashier than a pink flamethrower or gold rocket launcher
I realize Valve broke this a bunch of times already themselves, but I'd rather take a pink flamethrower that still keeps the silhouette than adding more messy, hard to read remodels of stock weapons.
Popping an über and the pocket rocket jumps away. Like, what the fuck?
Maybe they just think you have the Quick-Fix? Dunno - never really understood that myself.
Because its easier to hit people from above and you do more damage by getting to the middle of a group. Now if he jumps somewhere you can't follow then it is stupid, otherwise you should just follow them.
I forgot that Quickfix's shared movement thingo applies to demo shields.
A demoknight I was healing got ignited by a (non-crit buffed) phlog pyro, did a 180 and charged away.
I however, charged into the pyro's face and dropped uber :goodjob:
Out of curiosity, do you also get any turning speed modifiers the Demo has while charging?
Out of curiosity, do you also get any turning speed modifiers the Demo has while charging?
nope
QF mimic is like a free tide turn regardless of the targe
Out of curiosity, do you also get any turning speed modifiers the Demo has while charging?
You get full turning capabilities no matter what shield the Demoknight is using, if I remember correctly, but I don't pocket Demoknights ever, so I'm not 100% sure about it. I can vouch that it is really annoying to be pulled around by, though.
EDIT: Y-you stole my post!!
It's annoying when you just buff a nearby demoknight and the charge before you can detach.
It just eats away at my soul every time a demoknight kills (or even just hits me) when I can see his viewmodel metres away, clearly out of any realistic melee range.
Tears me up inside, so it does. No rage like it.
Even more infuriating is when you're the Demoknight, you slam your sword into their face at minimum possible range and get the meat-shot sound effect but don't actually hit, then they back away out of melee range and swing and kill you from 10 feet.

And the moral of the story is that Source hit reg sucks.
WOW
the ping spikes in washington servers are annoying as fuck
I'm enjoying the contracts but seriously I can't wait for the campaign to be over so that they'll stop shooting up to 250 ping randomly for a few seconds every time I play on one
i was helping people, and then some asshole told me to shut up, checked the guy's profile, 75 hours logged
what is it with newbies and lack of respect?

Yesterday evening I've touched Team Fortress 2 again because a friend wanted to play something we both had installed
I stand firm in my belief that nowadays TF2 is mainly use by a crowd of braindead teenegers with fictional characters as their nickname AND avatar who decided to use the game as a platform to spam meme non-stop instead of playing

You made this type of post when you "quit" a few months ago too. Not much is going to change

I played TF2 back in like 2009 on my brother's old steam account and I can assure you that is exactly how it was back then as well.
Is it normal for TF2 to go into an endless validation loop when you start editing custom files?
Because it just started doing that for me and I can't get it to stop.
that strange variants of civillian weapons and such don't exist :(
i can never have a strange citizen pain or smalltown bringdown

personally i like the "lower quality" skins a bit more than the flashier ones, they feel a bit more tf2-y than the ugly-ass lava wrench or w/e
(although the warbird set is really nice imo)
