Playing engineer feels like a chore, this is the last time I buy into one of these contract thingies.
Playing engineer feels like a chore, this is the last time I buy into one of these contract thingies.
When you get a contract you really don't feel like doing legitimally just browse for servers that are populated 2-3 people, they'll most likely be farming contracts and if you help them they'll help you.
Why does it tell you to press F5 (or something) to take a screenshot when someone kills you? Why would I want to keep a record of myself getting killed?
I know that I'm replying kind of late but it's because you can see some funny stuff on the killcam. i think tf2 was just made during another era where you were meant to have a grin in your face at all times regardless of what happened to you. hence why getting killed by a sniper is supposed to be an enlightening experience and a deep moment to reflect upon the outstanding performance of your fellow gamer colleague that bested you.
Steel is good, Hydro isn't
They're both good, Hydro hasn't gotten proper play in half a decade, maybe more than that. When (if ever) Hydro gets added to Quickplay then we can really judge its quality.
Adding Hydro to Quickplay might actually compel people to use the Find Server button instead.
some people have been trying to votekick people who kill dancers (taunts) in regular valve servers. if dancing throughout the whole game isn't a type of disease then I don't know what is.
I can't say this enough, but FUCK FRIENDLIES
Fuck team-stackers Fuck pocket medics Fuck spawn-campers Fuck people who switch teams whenever we're about to lose Fuck people who spam binds Fuck the direct hit and fuck the ambassador
When a kid begs for an expensive hat, and then screams/groans on the mic, because he didn't get it. Pretty much like this kid:
I can't say this enough, but FUCK FRIENDLIES
It's fine if they stay somewhere out of the way like an obscure corridor or off-the-beaten path, but when they wander into sentry range or an open gun fight then whine about dying, that's when they really piss me off.
Sadly, Valve seems to make spawn-camping easier for the attacking team. The defending team is already punished by having longer respawn times, which is made worse by giving the spawn campers enough time to reload/build uber.

Friendlies are just free metal for a Widowmaker Engineer
Speaking of friendlies: Killed a group of friendlies sitting behind our spawn. One of them said "Why u kill friendlies u scrub XD" which I answered it with "Oh, how dare I do such thing! KILLING an ENEMY in a FIRST PERSON SHOOTER is a crime among men, isn't it?". We won that round, but at what cost? Having half of the red team tunnelvision me for the match, then leave when they lost.
Fuck them no matter what, they're wasting a player slot.
As if 1-2 player slots occupied by them were a huge issue. F2Ps also basically waste a player slot.

why does everyone refer a f2p as a gibus? I'm not f2p and i like wearing the gibus
if dancing throughout the whole game isn't a type of disease then I don't know what is.
Yeah, screw those people for having fun in a way you don't also enjoy. "But that's not how the game is MEANT to be played!" Who cares? Demomen weren't meant to run around with nothing but a sword, but plenty of them do. Fungineers weren't intended to be a thing, but I see them regularly. Intelligence carriers not making the final cap on a CTF map and instead giving the enemy team a chance to recover it wasn't intended. There are tons of things people do which are suboptimal or even counterproductive to "winning", and yet no one cares because they're still fun. If you're seriously getting angry that someone else is finding different ways to enjoy a game than you on a public server, you should maybe rethink your priorities. Everyone has equal claim to Valve servers, and equal right to enjoy playing on them however they please short of hacking and spamming.
why does everyone refer a f2p as a gibus? I'm not f2p and i like wearing the gibus
Because its usually the first hat everyone gets. So naturally new players get it and wear it.
Friendlies are just free metal for a Widowmaker Engineer
And free über for those carrying the Übersaw!
Pretty sure demoknight was intended ever since they added a sword, shield and plenty more of swords and shields. You could argue he was intended to do demolitions only but then again the game wasn't originally intended to have dancing with the enemy team. Purposely not capping the intel seems to be more griefing than anything else to be honest
Using your own logic, that means that since they added endless taunts, then dancing around the map all match is entirely intended too.
Using your own logic, that means that since they added endless taunts, then dancing around the map all match is entirely intended too.
The logic you're going with is that if Valve adds it, it's 100% ok. This relies upon the assumption that Valve can do no wrong and always makes the correct decision.
Here's the thing - there is no correct way to play. There's no such thing. It doesn't exist. Look at all the community maps and game modes out there which go well beyond anything Valve ever did. If you want to play the game in big head mode, or with random weapons, or just enjoy a few rounds of Prop Hunt, you absolutely can. Now, those require different plugins and special servers, so they can't be played on Valve servers. But there's no correct way to play on a Valve server either. If you want to run around being a Friendly and taunting, go nuts. If you want to be a Fungineer and build a nest in a ridiculous place, go right ahead. Or maybe you want to play the game while stoned out of your gourd. Or maybe you like playing sniper but suck at it. Or maybe you're just gonna voice chat all match long so you can give Marty advice and moral support. The point is, Valve servers are for everyone, and that means everyone is allowed to play the way they want to on those servers. And if the way someone else on a server is playing doesn't fit your playstyle, you can easily just find a different server. If you ran your own server, you could set your own rules and kick people who don't play the way you want to. But on a free server, everything is fair game short of hacking and whatnot.
Scouts that teleports randomly due to lag. It's like trying to hit a superhero

Taking a nap doesn't require an open court, so that's not a comparable activity. Now if someone was using a basketball court to play tennis with a makeshift net, or to play racquetball against the walls, or to engage in some other sort of activity that required use of the open space to have fun but wasn't basketball, that'd be comparable. And no, people wouldn't have any right to complain. If a bunch of local kids are on the basketball court playing tag, you can either join in with what they're doing, wait for the court to become free, or go find a different court. Their right to use the court doesn't diminish just because they aren't playing basketball. Nor do you have any right to kick them off or mistreat them just because you want to run some lay-up drills.
