That's a good question Neo. I suspect it will end when one of us is somehow prevented from posting here for a few days, or when one stops caring-there's no conceivable "win" situation.
Whole argument's dumb, I can't see what outcome either of you are hoping for.
Yeah I kind of forgot what I was aiming for halfway through that post and just posted shit. I give up. Now you fuckers need to stop posting threads about competitive TF2, it's like god damn flamebait and I like pissing everyone off.
I honestly don't care if a bunch of terrible players "like" me on an internet forum.
Would you like a gallon container for your own farts? You know, in case you feel like sniffing them all later.
Cimo is a troll pretending to be a competitive player not to be confused with actual competitive players
who's posting threads about competitive tf2? oh, ironically enough, it was a pubber in this case. if you don't want flamebait, tell your peers to stop creating it.
Flamebait is flamebait, it doesn't matter which "side" did it. Stop playing the blame game and let it go.
God knows why people want to turn a game into a competition. Just plain dumb imo.
Flamebait is flamebait, it doesn't matter which "side" did it. Stop playing the blame game and let it go.
i don't think you understand what i'm trying to say. it's very hypocritical of him to say competitive players are creating flamebait topics when it's actually pubbers doing so. when was the last time you saw a competitive player create a topic on competitive tf2 on this board?
You guys still going on ? I saw this thread, shared some of my opinion, saw you grinding same "NO U" stuff around with very few quality posts around and left. While you were here I went to bowling with friends, had a nice day and socialized, couldn't you just all get along and do the same, REALLY ?
I think the competitive players kind of brought that name upon themselves because a whole lot of them act all high and mighty.
Grats you managed to say something completely untrue after I touched on this on a post barely a few above yours and it's something that's already been touched on several times in this thread. Stop spreading lies. Guess what, I've pubbed for well over 1,200 hours just about everywhere, there's a ton of douchebags, people who act elitist, terrible admins, cheaters, griefers, trolls, idiots, dickwads, and so on and so forth in public servers too. The people who act like you say are either very low level players who think they're badass now that they play 6v6 for some reason or people who don't actually play competitive just trolling you. The vast majority of the 6v6 community is really really nice. I'm very very new to it and even in the past few months I've seen that, pubbed for most of my time in TF2. I've been there, I've seen how nice people actually are in the comp. community. In fact, I'd say I've actually encountered far less dickwads since focusing on 6v6, since in a pub you can have people complaining about X weapon or thing killing them and calling people gay or lucky all the time (LOL GAY PUSSY SPY ATTACKING ME FROM BEHIND etc). Quite frankly get some experience before you say stuff like this....I wouldn't go around giving people advice on modeling because I barely know shit about it (especially in comparison to you), don't go around telling people shit about the competitive community when you don't know them. As a public player you will pretty much never see the community, and the people you do are generally low players with bad attitudes that EVERYONE hates or people who aren't actually in said community and just trolling. Every community has its bad apples, unfortunately most public players will only see those people since they commonly play pubs very often, the nice people are all off doing their own thing and having fun and enjoying the game their way.
natascha was not buffed
Yeah it was. Tighter firing cone, more damage, and other stuff.
Cimo is a troll pretending to be a competitive player not to be confused with actual competitive players
I've played more competitive matches throughout the entirety of the Team Fortress series that I can't even begin to count them all. I've played with and against more top teams in QWTF and TFC than you can even wrap your mind around. I still play league matches in TFC and occasionally play with old pros(DJedi, M, AM ect) from QWTF when we can get a game started. I played in the small BOYC CPL TFC event and then next year(I think) played in the CPL TFC 2v2. Saying I'm not a competitive player is like saying Complexity is terrible...

" i dont understand what youre saying youre a douche " how about you google them and stop being so dumb?
You could lay off the abbreviations a bit I know it feels cool to change up things so that only you and a select few other arrogant people understand it but seriously
Umm, if you even remotely care about TF2 you should know most of those, but I'll help you out because you seem like the kind of person who can't help himself. QWTF: Quake World Team Fortress, the first "official" TF game from 1996. TFC: Team Fortress Classic, the second "official" TF game made for the Half-Life engine in 1999. DJedi: Digital Jedi, a QWTF clan now in TF2. M: Maurader, a QWTF clan. AM: Aftermath, a QWTF clan. BYOC: Bring Your Own Computer, typically associated with LANs. CPL: Cyberathlete Professional League, an old league with pro players and large prizes. They held large LANs with tournaments sometimes multiple times a year. 2v2: Two versus Two, two players versus two players :hurr: Anything else you need to know that you can't google?
People needs to realize that Tf2 is a TEAM based game.
Sup Competitive Players, The reason you're getting so much hate is because for some silly reason, Valve listens to you and makes changes based upon what you have to say when you play that 6V6 TF2 Beta thingy. Unfortunately, the changes affect everyone, not just you, and so we are pretty annoyed with you people for influencing Valve to make changes that didn't need to be made. Just what I think, feel free to rate me boxes if the mood takes you.
I'm a pubbie at heart and it shows, but my experience with competitive players is generally positive, it's because of them I was able to adjust to competitive gameplay quickly. Competitive players, from what I've seen, like to have new blood around. Which is understandable because after playing for a while you'll be with the same people more often then not.
ehh that's not really true look at those alternate boxing gloves they were gonna add to make KGB comp-viable. It never happened
How are the KGB not comp-viable? In a melee situation as heavy in comp you are pretty much screwed, so the 20% slower swing speed makes little difference, and the crits can cause him to rain shotgun hellfire down on whichever unlucky son of a bitch scout tries to meatshot him. Also the GRU which you are talking about were never going to replace the KGB, they were simply another heavy unlock.

Either way, it never happened. Anyhow, the thing about the KGB isn't that they're less powerful than the fists, it's just that they're never useful, like, ever. Mostly because if you're at close range odds are you already have the minigun out and with the spinup time decreased recently it's faster to blow someone away than it is to get the gloves out and punch them, so they decided to make a version with something comp players might find useful. It didn't end up happening, and most of the info sources I recall didn't seem 100% reliable, but it would have been cool to see in a match.

The reason the new gloves were more useful for comp than the KGB is that the Heavy moved faster with them out. In comp, Heavy is rarely played (usually only in defense situations, like Engineer) because he can't make it to the middle point of a 5CP map as fast as the other classes, meaning the team is down a player during most of the fight for the point. The GRU (Gloves of Running Urgently) tried to resolve this problem by trading some health for movement speed. For the people arguing about the comp. players having more influence than everyone else, the closed beta had a lot of ideas thrown about that never actually happened, and - this is the most important part - Valve's not going to change something for comp. players if it will negatively impact pub play.

Thanks for doing that for me, though.
