You should have seen the amount of shit he got on TFTV for "it being too much like yaHUD." It's like people looked at 4 screenshots and decided it was a clone without realizing it was initially made for Mac users (as far as I understand), among other things. It was pretty ridiculous.

There isn't exactly a billion ways a minimalistic HUD can be unique though.

Exactly! Less distraction from the actual game :D
V1.4!
- Two Cities support!
- Not everything looks pretty yet, but I've just migrated from code.google to github, so that took a loooong time.
https://github.com/Sevin7/7HUD
I just downloaded this 7hud while my old hud gets it's update released, and I'll admit it's damn nice.
Only issue is the MVM chat window text is still as small as my self-worth. Is there going to be a fix for that in the future?
Oh, and it doesn't show if theres Giants or crit bots.
-fixed it-
good hud
also how do i darken the background of inspecting items when in spectator mode

And I'll admit I've never really liked mvm so optimizing mvm has never really been on my list. I'll check out those things you mentioned though because I gotta do a little optimizing because of the Two Cities.
I hope you stick with the HUD through its first stages :)

Hudinspectpanel.res in the resource/ui folder. Under the first entry, just change the bgcolor_override's final value to something like 100. It should be 255 255 255 0 right now, which is straight black but extremely transparent. Increasing the last value will raise the opaqueness of the color.
v1.5!
- More killstreak support
- New target ID's!
- Different HP and ammo alignments
- Altered fonts in a few minor places
- Nicer vaccinator HUD
- and a few more small fixes

Hey guys,
So tonight a guy named four added me and told me about a really cool app he made called 4Plug and it's really really cool. It organizes all of your TF2 plugins; your huds (installed and not installed), .vpk files, hitsounds and more. With his help, I began integrating my HUD into 4Plug. I have a Mac, so I had to run the app off a Mac .net Framework equivalent called "mono", but it worked out OK.
Long story short, I've mostly integrated the mac branch (as you'll see on GitHub), but I can't edit the Windows version right now because the GitHub app simply refuses to launch on my Windows partition. I've been in contact with a GitHub representative, so we should have this solved soon, but until then I won't be able to update the Windows side of the HUD.
While you Windows users wait, grab 4Plug and get familiar with it so you're all set for when I finish updating.
If you are an intrepid adventurer, feel free to download the mac branch on GitHub and just copy the following files to your 7hud folder and it should be integrated into 4Plug after that: settings.data, data.txt, the readme (it's been updated with 4Plug instructions), 7hud.png, and thumbnail40.png. Then delete recommended options.txt as it's no longer needed.
Whew, a bit more long winded than I hoped, but hopefully you guys are nice people and read it. If you didn't, that's not a good thing. That's bad. It's very bad.

so the only way of installing updates now is to use this app for a Mac..?
so the only way of installing updates now is to use this app for a Mac..?
No, you misunderstand me. It's just that I've been having big problems with GitHub on my windows partition, so me and a github rep are working to fix that. The windows version is completely up to date except for not having the 4plug files.
It shall be fixed soon I hope.
A little more news:
I've been working closely with four for several hours the past few days, and I've finished making a new settings menu in 4Plug for 7HUD. Aaaaaand... drum roll please
I will be adding a lowered version of the HUD in the next update! :D
Icing on the cake: you will be able to switch from the normal version to the lowered version simply by selecting either in 4Plug's settings menu. You can even refresh it while you're in game by selecting, for instance, the lowered version in the settings menu, alt-tabbing back in to TF2 and putting hud_reloadscheme in the console. It's as simple as that!
The chat position and binding of favorite servers to the menu buttons will also be included in the initial 4Plug w/ 7HUD release!

I've actually found that HUDS do not work in .vpk format. It's weird, sorry.

I don't guarantee support for a third-party HUD modification. No HUD will do that. That modification was meant for the default HUD.
I'm working on the missing texture box in the bottom right corner.
Any chance that anyone using the HUD could screencap the win panel? I don't like my current one much and I noticed most HUDs on their screencap dump don't have one of the win panel.
I don't know if you fixed this but when you go in disguise witht he spy the player name and the disguise overlap
If you could move the HUD player model behind the health or something (and flip him horizontally), I think it would look better and remind the player what team he's on. Do that or get rid of him - he's just kind of awkwardly sitting off to the bottom left.

You can always turn the character model off. That's a setting built into the game.
I'm still suggesting an idea so he can tackle two problems at once: absence of team-color and the character model's position.

I like it down there. I hate the look of it right next to the health and ammo. Takes up lots of space and looks ugly. It will stay in the bottom left, but if you want to move it, I can show you how.
I'm down for that. I'm part of the stupid people who forget what team they're on. You should make it an option in the neat little program you mentioned on the site.
Could you explain exactly how to place the white background back on the kill feed? You kinda just glaze over it in your readme.

It's in hudlayout.res under the Death Notice heading. The white background is next to the LocalBackgroundColor subsection. LocalBackground is pretty straightforward: whenever you get a kill or assist, it's counted as local so that shows up with the color in RGBA next to that subsection. 255 255 255 189 is a semi-transparent white.
