My idea is something like that, but I'd call it the Screaming Eagle. It has the same ammo count, and damage, however, you can charge it to fire up to 4 rockets, however, the 4 rocket cluster would either move slower, or scale the damage so it doesn't rape everything in sight. Also, no crits.
The primary should be more like the TFC rpg, a single rocket that does more damage and knockback, secondary should be a tommy gun or a single shot quickdraw rifle that crits if the enemy is in the air

Its an SMG that coats the bullets in Radio-active goo.
My idea was is that when players where it by the gun They become radio-active and there screen would be green they'd lose 8 health per second. But the effect would only last 3 seconds dealing 24 Damage over the time and could not be stacked until the effect wears off. Another drawback is that the effect doesn't work while being healed by medics.The bullets would only deal 3 damage per bullet and the clip would be 25 bullets a round, 200 rounds in all.

A relic from World War I, the trench spike consists of a brass knuckle attached to a 6-inch spike, originally intended to stab downwards through an enemy's metal helmet during trench warfare. The soldier picked this up during his escapades through europe, and kept it as a memento.

Light weight allows for faster swing
Secondary fire stabs with blade, scoring critical and snapping the blade off.
Cons
Less Damage per swing
Blade returns by death or by returning to resupply. (thanks Ven177)
Designed in my eyes as a faster means of meleeing close opponents where rockets cannot be safely used. Secondary use could be used to quickly dispatch a spy or scout who's too quick for shotgun / rocket / whatever.
Custom Taunt:
Sodier reaches for his hip (where the weapon is holstered) and quickly draws, stabbing forwards. Somehow the sheath is still on the weapon, and flies off as he thrusts, striking the victim and instakilling them.
Came up with this during a sleepless night. Counting heavies didnt work either :P
He'll probably just get a variation of his rocket launcher, y'know, the way the pyro got a slightly different flamethrower... and the heavy got a different minigun... and the scout got a different shotgun.
Actually, come to think of it, most of the primaries were pretty similar to the original ones.

To balance it out so the Soldier doesn't turn into a spy: Blade gets fixed by dying or going back to spawn.
Soldier should get a LeisenFaust 44.
He better get a Winchester Rifle.

I'd like to see a laser rifle, sorta like a railgun. It does little damage but push like the airblast, so you can push people against a wall, get your rocket launcher and shoot at the wall to finish 'em off
Good for point defense, blocking someone, but sucks for killing.
Also can help to get rid of pyros.
Rocket Launcher + Bayonet (Zweihander)
shovel replacement thats a giant fork that lets you eat people and when you do you get 5 seconds of uber because you just ate a person and are very manly

It sounds good, but it ain't really Soldier's kinda playstyle, building. But being able to quickly dig a hole to hide in, that'd be an interesting experiment.

Some sort of magic boots that make you run faster, but you can't rocket jump I dunno.
I think the soldier needs a weapon that allows him to be able to shoot through friendlies, it's the most annoying thing for the soldier to have to constantly try to shoot around and above friendlies to target enemies.

They do only when the friendlies are at most 5 meters away, beyond that the rockets explode on contact on friendlies.
