I unboxed the thing on my last Gun Mettle case i got from a contract, almost sold it, but decided to keep my hands on it.
I have no idea how much is it worth even, but the thing looks flashy and i like it :v:
I can only aim crossbows. If I had to pick one item in my backpack it probably be this.

there aren't any listings on the community market for that particular weapon, but I'd expect you could easily get $100+ off of it.
Most "money"-valuable would be this thing:
[t]http://puu.sh/urfG3/f9032cd9cf.jpg[/t]
Most valuable (based on time/effort) would probably be this since I put a ridiculous amount of effort into obtaining it and using it regularly:
[t]http://puu.sh/urgdU/4a22feda36.jpg[/t]
I actually got it to Hale's on Christmas day via a taunt kill.
And just because whatever, there's also this thing, which I share with my girlfriend of about 5 years:

Noob Question here.
How do you get these pictures and get them to show in posts?
iunno, "valuable" can mean a lot of different things
ignoring obvious contenders like community qualities, unusuals, things in just plain low quantity, etc. i'll share some interesting things, even if they're not conventionally valuable by market standards

I think the TF2VRH is a pretty cool one, because it was for backing a kickstarter for the first big VR headset, something so insane that even I was like "wait what, really?" when I found out that I was eligible for it. also it's really funny to think that i'd have to use one of the original dev kits to get the cool effect of it being on, either that or jury rig up TF2 to work with the vive, which I should try...

always thought this was neat too. don't remember why he gifted it to me, don't think it was a mass gift, but I could always be wrong.

there's also these two flare guns, which are perfectly normal to basically anyone who would ever care. but they're probably some of the only flareguns in existence that have been granted by CD keys. they're from redeeming a code from one of the later series of NECA figures, I think. I redeemed them before the team pushed out the schema update to use the actual hat promo instead of the flaregun placeholder, which most promos use(d.) had to email eric, which gave him a scare because to his knowledge, they had put out that schema update, and thought people everywhere were just getting flareguns, instead of 1-3 fringe cases

I still have this for some reason. i'm holding onto the belief that one day they'll forget to flag a teaser crate as unopenable from it, and i'll unbox a portal to another dimension or something
the latest ToTH medals are just funny reminders because I visit lange's apartment every now and then, and it's always fun talking about ToTH behind-the-scenes stuff and seeing those medals before they were pushed out or submitted. sentimental value, on those. community run projects! they're neat!
edit: forgot about my soldier medal, which I got from the page itself. what a weird time. I can still remember what the page for successful redemption looked like in my head, which is cool because I don't think there's any documentation on that. that was also a time where there was like, no hats or miscs for anyone and even the tiniest medal on your character was super noticeable for anyone you were playing with
that's all for story time, I think
A vintage sandvich that holds no sentimental value because I got it so I have a version of the sandvich I'll remember not to scrap
A Specialized Killstreak Unusual Smoking Antlers, along with a normal strange grenade launcher.

I assume people are just taking screenshots of their Steam inventory.
I haven't got pics, but money value wise it'd have to be my aussie wrench which was gifted to me by my friend
value-to-me wise, I'd say either my proof of purchase, my rust botkiller RL, or my two 72hr jam medals.

Went into my inventory on steampowered website, clicked the item I wanted specifically, hit the Prt Scr button ( Print Screen ). Go into Inkscape, hit paste, cropped out all except the item and it's information that I wanted to show, then uploaded it to imgur's website.
not as valuable as the rest of the stuff here, but i have this strange rocket launcher from a raffle back in 2012, i was excited to win bc i won with a tiny margin and being my very 1st strange item

Thanks.
On topic my most valuable item in terms of money would be a my Collector's L'etranger.
http://imgur.com/a/dZKFx
For sentimental value it would be my Iron Curtain and Dealer's Visor, because they remind me of my early days of TF2 back in 2009/2010.
http://imgur.com/a/BU6uW
Also my other earlier hats such as Proof of Purchase, Mann.co hat and Cheater's lament, for the same reason.
Surprisingly enough the last thing I unboxed worth more than like $3 is also the most expensive thing I own.

The most valuable item in my inventory is my HOUWAR:

It's not your normal one though. It's got Halloween paint (the yellowy one), Violet Footsteps, (not seen on it however) the deep Demo voice spell and a glitched killstreak kit (Emerald to match the paint. I think it does actually shine green when I'm on a killstreak).
Mine is a Spec KS Rocket Launcher decked out with strange parts signed by ThatGuyTagg. My friend sold it to me a long time ago and it's one of my most cherished items.

Not unless you have mods to make it show. No hats have the vmt settings properly set up to show sheens.

That would explain why it appears on some custom servers, but not on official valve ones.
Thanks for the info!

I will always love this hat
Aside from 1st dropped hat, here's crafted by me 4th level4 hat

I have a bunch of items i really like, although this hat is special. It has my favorite effect on my favorite hat (I've always wanted a paintable, all class team captain with a dark purple effect, thanks again Ikes for making it all-class). Really like how it takes black paint and the colors complement each other.

My trusty sidearm that matches perfectly with the rest of my loadout. It's not the most expensive or high grade weapon, but it's my favorite skin type in the collection by far.

Selfmades aside, I hold all my flamethrowers in a special place.
Wish I could get a pyros killed in my forest fire those.
I have a couple of items that I hold near and dear to my heart, for sure. The first one that comes to mind came from the first Scream Fortress event that I ever played on a public server. It was the first time I ever did play on a public server, actually. For months on end, I played solely in practice mode because I tend to be quite shy and was scared to play with others, but a close friend of mine told me that they and some other friends created a private server to play the new Viaduct Event map and they were nice enough to share the IP with me. Fun times were had.
We played against Monoculus for a good few hours until it became a chill, relax session- all of us waiting to get a gift. The sight of everyone in their full Fly Engie outfits to the suuuper cool Pyro demon set runnin' around made me so envious. I wanted the Pyro wings so bad. The way they flow looked so awesome.
Little bit of waiting for the gift, then this finally happened:

The experience of having so many nice people around to play with made the night super memorable and made me excited for all the new Halloween events to come. It really set me off to explore the TF2 community in itself and, in-turn, into item making. My very first self-made cosmetic was a Halloween one. I was very happy and thankful for that. I still am.
The same year I got my first self-made was also a celebratory night, in-similar vein of the time me and my group of friends gathered on that server to play Eyeaduct. This was also the year I started talking to my now partner, Void, and he so happened to be in the same server as me, also. He was very kind to hand out a bunch of gifts that night- Most were just weapon drops, but I so happened to be the lucky one to get this:

It was fun goofing off on Helltower with him that night, then we started chatting on Steam afterwards, then ended up playing even more Halloween maps until we downright exhausted ourselves.
I now live with the guy in a cute, little apartment that we rent together. We work together, still play TF2 on a mostly day-to-day basis as of late, and we learn from each other so much. The little things in TF2 always make me smile, and I'm glad that this community has given me many wonderful, rich experiences within the time I've been playing.
Honestly, if my friend from long ago didn't show me how nice it can be to play on public servers, I probably would've never have made that leap myself, and probably would have never met Void, or know the creative side of the TF2 community, in-general.
Everything intertwines, and I appreciate it so, so much.

One of my favorite skin out of the collections. It may not be Factory New, but I'm fine with anything Field-Tested or above.
This is actually a Strange Freelance grade weapon and they're quite rare.
First trade up attempt.

Other than this skin I have a haunted ghosts beret which is very dear to me. I also have a max's head with Spectral Spectrum and Rotten Orange Footprints which I won from sweetstakes.tf with a .68% chance :P.

I really appreciate this, and I was surprised that they listened and fixed the strange human cannonballs not counting points as well.
Both valuable in the sense that there is only one in existence so far and that the TF2 Team listened to both my problems and fixed them in the same update.
Then my ever-growing pyro stuff collection is second place for me.
One of the most valuable item for me is a #91 security shades, not for the craft number but because it was my very first crafted hat, i still remember when i crafted it i got way too many trade requests.
