Not sure how much x's and boxes I'll get for this but I think the Automatic Rifle should return, this time as a weapon on DM maps. 25 damage at point blank, drops off to 20 at a distance, firerate of about 0.115ish, clip capacity of about 30 or 40. Basically an assault rifle of sorts. And MAYBE implement it into one of the 9 core classes (or a new one perhaps? I've been bored with all the other classes for a while now and haven't been feeling like playing live TF2 simply because of that...)
Not sure how much x's and boxes I'll get for this but
Please stop with that, saying this guarantees that a bunch of people are going to box you just for mentioning ratings. Stop caring about the ratings, just care about the contents of your post. People don't get dumbed in this thread for having ideas people disagree with, most of the time they get dumbed it's for asking a question that could easily be answered by themselves or by giving ideas and such without much forethought (ex: Wanting people to add in a weapon with broken mechanics which people already went over and disapproved, or just saying silly things in general which they didn't think about all the outcomes). Think about what you just said, now I'm not against an automatic rifle being implemented in some way, but do some more number crunching and realize that implementing something and having it be balanced and work properly is not that easy a task.

I believe that your idea is a very BAD one, is OP as hell...
It would be cool if we had gamemodes not related to shooting like a swimming race mode or singing or something fun.
It would be cool if we had gamemodes not related to shooting like a swimming race mode or singing or something fun.
Why does TF2C need over 9000 gamemodes?
-snip, fixed it myself; sorry for taking up a post-
Why does TF2C need over 9000 gamemodes?
i mean it's gonna have that much anyway
It would be cool if we had gamemodes not related to shooting like a swimming race mode or singing or something fun.
The American Idol gamemode is a top priority of ours. We'll make it after the baking minigame.
The American Idol gamemode is a top priority of ours. We'll make it after the baking minigame.
Baking minigame you say?
Why does TF2C need over 9000 gamemodes?
Since we're rebuilding TF2C in Source2013 from the 2007 code, why note take advantage of the SteamPipe functionality and implement a add-on management system similar to what L4D2 has? This would allow for people to implement their own game modes and mods (purple team for those that want to host a server for it, for example) and tweaks without necessarily affecting the primary branch of the game due to the server browser having a filter for that stuff, in addition to the performance advantages of going to .vpk alone.
Attempting to use the self-updater and clicking check update causes an error: HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found. Welp, RIP self-updater?
It would be cool if we had gamemodes not related to shooting like a swimming race mode or singing or something fun.
I'm going to respond with a blunt "No." Why would a first-person shooter named Team Fortress 2 Classic need official gamemodes that don't involve shooting? And how would a swimming race or let alone a singing gamemode work? Hold W to win? Yell indescribable gobbledygook into the mic? If you want "fun" gamemodes or servers where people just stand around, repeat the same Conga taunt for hours and engage in excessive consumption of sandwiches, then please, just go play regular Team Fortress 2. Or very least don't expect the devs to make any.
It would be cool if we had gamemodes not related to shooting like a swimming race mode or singing or something fun.
To put it bluntly, no.
Why does TF2C need over 9000 gamemodes?
It does not need over 9000 gamemodes. that would take years to make, it would just be cool if it had a few extra silly gamemodes. How about this, a gamemode where it's kinda like mario kart but instead of the powerups and stuff you get weapons and with stuff like rocket launchers you can blast other people to make their health lower edit: just realized that already exists it's called bumper karts in modern tf2

Reduce the clip to 20, firerate of 0.2? Thats 125 dps, 500 a clip. Enough to deal with a reasonable amount of foes in quick succession, or perhaps a Heavy from a safe distance with the max dropoff being 20 as long as he has no medic. IMHO that would be less OP. But that'd be theoretical, I'm suggesting it as a weapon in DM but I'm not sure what class it would fit into in core gamemodes, which is why I brought up the possibility of an... unnecessary class that would still be nice to have.
If you guys experience any crashes, it would be insanely helpful if you could upload your dump files and then post it here with a description of the crash. Dump files can be found after a game crash in 'yoursteampath/dumps/', (yoursteampath is the directory where steam.exe is located in) where you should find a few .dmp files. Look for the one with the correct time and date of the crash and ensure the filename begins with 'crash_hl2.exe_', that will be the one for your crash, which you can then upload and post like mentioned above. That will allow us to trace the crash back to the error in the programming, making our task much easier. Thanks, --PistonMiner, Programmer
I think a little thing that could be good for the project would be to be correct with gun terminology, like instead of saying "clip" say magazine on a lot of weapons (there's a difference)

If we're on the beaten to death topic of gamemodes, I call for a revival of the football gamemode https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Push_%28Classic%29

I want to make a map with similar gameplay myself at some point.
TFC Murderball for the win.

So how often have 'domestic' terrorists been threatening the mod team? It seems pretty serious with how radical this one guy is.

Since TF2C uses older TF2 code, does that mean it still uses the old crit system? I noticed that crits were a lot more common then they are in TF2 live. Is anything going to be done with this or will it remain as it is?
