So far that will be the only option
OK,then naming him the Mercenary since he is the only class would make sense.
When the final release is done, you guys should consider steam greenlight. That's what the BM:S people are doing and valve is totally fine with that.
What if the video got taken down for the time being?

That won't ever happen for... reasons.
What if the video got taken down for the time being?
I also think it would be the best way of solving that, considering that the video only have like 10 000 views so far
It was really bad idea to make a video at this point.
When we actually would have something to show, then yes.
Now we just get these new guys posting here how to install the mod and complain about it.
What if the video got taken down for the time being?
Yeah, TBH it currently isn't doing anybody any favours. Considering the previously mentioned script, the misinformation and the influx of people that we don't want for the time being since the mod is barely an alpha yet, this might be the best idea.
What if the video got taken down for the time being?
Too late now, the cat's already out of the bag.
Facepunch projects have had leaks before, like when the Robotic Boogaloo contest got leaked to Reddit. This is arguably worse since we have very little other than some concept art and a loose demo to show.
I hoped that the video could put publicity out there and host more servers and what not
I dont know how this is negative towards the TF2C Team
and also when I saw this video pop up on my sub box I told myself "Didnt TF2C say they didnt want it to be public?"
I would set up a server running 4grounds now, since there is a visible spike in people playing the mod as a result of this video perhaps I could actually have the map tested
but my ISP doesn't allow port forwarding and none of the severs seem to have the map in their rotations, so I'm kinda fucked

It's like using the shitter in a building under construction without sewage of any sort in place yet
[sp]I think I'm going full Punchy with this comparison[/sp]

Shaft isn't on Greenlight, it's on Greenlight Concepts, Greenlight is to get a game onto Steam while Greenlight Concepts is to promote your game/mod and to get an audience.
I've explained this on the page, but the comment was deleted since the developers aren't too fond of me, atleast in relation to Shaft.

TF2:C wouldn't be able to get on Greenlight due to using stolen code, which Valve doesn't want.

This is what happens when you spend all day streaming mapping, then stay up all night to record voice overs.
My brain no longer works. Don't expect gold, but it should at least give you guys a laugh.
[editline]Indeed[/editline]
Also have this non-TF2C related clip I also did during the above clips.

Thinking With Time Machine for Portal 2 supposedly used stolen code too, and it got in. Keep in mind thats just a rumor though.
The first 4 seconds of the Janitor one, pure gold.

Valve tend to be pretty open arms about people creating anything new and functional out of their assets providing it's not with malicious intent.
I don't think it wouldn't get on Greenlight due to the code, I think it's more likely that it wouldn't be Greenlit due to the fact that TF2 is still in active development.
If Team Fortress 2 was long dead like Half-Life (1) in terms of Valve's focus, they'd probably give it support akin to Black Mesa, but given this is essentially competing with something that's still making them a lot of money, they'll likely just ignore it/stop it from going anywhere near an official location on Steam.
I can't see them squashing it though.

You said what I was about to say:
When the final release is done, you guys should consider steam greenlight. That's what the BM:S people are doing and valve is totally fine with that.
Yes but are the Black Mesa Source guys using old leaked source code? Because we are.
It's kinda a bad thing, we know. We've been trying to get in contact with Valve to get an OK for the project if we were to want to Greenlight it.
Without using the leaked source code, we wouldn't have as much done as we do now.

BMS is using publicly available code that was officially released by Valve, and I think currently they payed the Source Engine licencing fee to get CSGO/Portal 2 code.

I really liked the tired/bored scientist, I think that would be fun to combine it with him talking about complicated stuff and assume everyone understands him, or perhaps realizing mid sentence that no one does, often not explaining the whole thing and instead just saying, "well you know what I mean..."
I also liked your "german" one, mostly casue it didn't sound specifically german however its probably too close to medic having the other guy in a labcoat talk in a similar accent.
As Frying said, the very first part on the janitor one was perf, slowly drifted into pirate after that, attitude-wise I do like him sort of bitter, perhaps even angry, or at least passive aggressive, like even when complimenting someone he sneaks in some snide remark, or mumbles some profanities.
The guard voice would need work, I'm not entirely convinced your voice can pull it off cause i imagine a lot of his personality should come purely from voice quality not sure what specifically it should be like but it's a bit too easy to go for an accent to make it seem fitting, I'd probably rather hear him in a pretty normal American accentand well spoken, his personality should probably be all business, certain and collected, like he knows what he's doing and that he's in charge, like he's the kind of person who keeps his cool when others panic, maybe a little suspicious too considering the game modes
I would think an African-American accent would fit the guard better. Confident about his job but with a bit of paranoia in his attitude due to him being in a game mode around traitors.
Can't think of a good example to really show what I mean, Roland from the borderlands series is a little too confident , however I imagine a similar sounding voice with added nerves would sound something akin to my idea.
While on the subject, I kind of imagine the guard fitting as a class for a prop hunt style game mode. Where its a 'Night at the museum' situation where the props and items at night come to life and the security guard has to try finding them.
I think I liked the first scientist voice best. Reminded me of Dr. Kleiner, like even moreso than the concept art. The German one was pretty good, but do we need two Germans men of science? Then again, Scout, Engi and Soldier are all American so eh.

Somehow I didn't expect anyone to highlight that one heh.

I was going more for the Einstein cartoon stereotype, but I can see why some might see that not co-operating with Medic being in-game.

Not sure if I'd agree on pirate. The stereotypical pirate accent is a West Country accent (and on occasion sometimes Scottish). I was thinking more Father Jack Hackett more-so than pirate.

I'm done with the desktop for the day, but I'll knock together a poor quality audio test via my laptop.
le man of science should be based off of bill nye
I think the Guard concept looks Indian (and no, not "native", I'm talking India indian).
Either that, or some kind of African (North maybe)?
I dunno, I just envision him having lines like "I am getting too old for this shit" but in an Indian accent.

Its easy to be steriotypical, and thus very uninteresting, simply doing a "black" voice for a black character denies him any actual personality. That said, him sounding "black" isn't necessarily a bad thing, it just shouldn't be his only quality
Also a prophunt-ish game mode has been discussed, currently dubbed "Hide and Seek" It is more or less unarmed spies disguising as props trying to steal intel while guards what at furniture trying to find them. Also toyed with the concept of having an free-for-all weapon closet that opens on a timer, in order to spice up what might otherwise turn into a stalemate with people just hanging out.

I thought the same at one point. I believe I put something vaguely Indian at the end of the file.

I completely agree. That said I did this quickly since people seemed to be asking for it at the time.

Excuse less then usual quality. This is the built in mic on my laptop with some processing to try and clean it up rather than my usual setup..

If and Indian accent can be done while still sounding serious enough it could probably work
Also, am I the only one who imagines the scientist to be jewish? idk if it matters just something i thought of

There are still some accents we can use. Jewish being one. Indian is another. South African would be interesting (think Ninja from Die Antwoord). When we first discussed the Mercenary, I was thinking South African as a possible accent choice.

Understandable, avoiding any stereotypes is probably the best route to take for any new characters designed, so yeah I agree, just not sure what his voice could be though. The design of the concept is perfect and I can really imagine the character.
Also like the idea for the 'hide and seek' gamemode, even more so than the traditional prop hunt style. A timer for a gun store/room sounds like a fun addition to settle any issues. Not sure this would work but perhaps also there is an optional more difficult way in which the spies can hack security to help them get the Intel, perhaps opening vents or disabling any traps set up in a map.
