I have to do an assignment where i have to make box art for a game that doesn't really exist yet, and im like, hey im helping out with this so i did this. Also the game had to have Xbox cover so thats why, it wouldve been pc but restrictions, you know?
Anyway you all tell me what you think, this is just a WiP at the moment but enjoy looking at it
This is probably going to be more helpful for your assignment.
Your typography is pretty bad, there are numerous areas where the text isnt easy to read at all. A combination of bad font and not showing up well on the background. Even at a higher resolution these issues are still gonna be there.

On the sort of same not I think the images on the back of the box should have a subtle border or some sort. At first glance for me it took me a few seconds to tell where the small picture stopped and where the background began for this one:

The Valve/Facepunch logos and the kotaku quote shouldn't be on the front of the box either in my opinion. Just looked through some xbox cases I have and they only have the rating on the front.
Art direction wise, I think the picture you used for the front is a bad choice. Looks kinda neat as a desktop wallpaper but for the game defining image thats supposed to draw somebody to be interested and buy the game it doesnt work. It's a guy with a black head facing away from you looking at some dirt and wood. I think the background of the back of the box should be changed too. It's too detailed, having it be a simpler image would help people read the quotes, discern the images, and just be cleaner in general.
Most game boxes ive seen have the logos on them of the creators,
and i removed the quote
also i like the pictures, and so does most people ive shown, so i dont think thats a problem (Plus i cant find any decent high quality pictures of TF2C that are that large anyway)
When it coems to fonts, they are placeholders at the moment
EDIT: ill upload the final when its finished

Back End.
Which opening do you guys prefer?
vote late for old
vote artistic for new

You can now download the new version of the bik to replace the intro scene here:

The fact that you have it to where rating artistic is for the new intro makes it feel so much like a subliminal message since I tend to rate things artistic when I find them neat.
Anyways, I like the TF2 style you have going for the new intro, though you may want to make a new shot or animation of the valve guy to match up with the style of the music since it seems inconsistent with the realistic and dramatic looking valve guy in contrast to the somewhat lighthearted music.

otherwise great job

You altered the original image ratio, and tf2c is in no way affiliated with facepunch studios.
I dunno if you are still looking for ideas for GRN base, but I recently i discovered this kind of italian forerunner architect called Antonio Sant'Elia who did some pritty cool drafts of buildings in the early '900s:

(A hydroelectric plant)

(A building with a bridge over a road)
What do you think?
a lot of that looks perfect for YLW as opposed to green, very cool stuff
There are aslo many 3D reconstructions, if you'd like to see them better:

Thanks a lot for that cool reference sketches, our YLW team architectural theme discussion has gotten a bit stale since lately we moved our attention to deathmatch stuff more then 4-team things (not to mention that as you may know one of our team members responsible for hosting of our files went on a little insurgence and we lost most reference documents related to GRN and YLW themes), so your post was somewhat refreshing in that regard. Do you by any chance have more where that came from?
Well i know he belongs to the art movement of futurism, an italian movement that wanted (before the WW1) to bring innovation in Italy. So Sant'Elia did some projects for a futuristic metropolis but unfortunately I can't find many of them and detailed... (those three are the most famous)
here are some I've found searching on google:

And this one that is (imo) quite important, since it gives some kind of "rules" to follow his style:

Gotta be careful with those curves as GRN's focus is on that, but it really is some neat stuff though, and I think that implementing it into YLW could work. If not, can work into the more industrial parts of GRN.
I'm coming back into business now soon so I'll be able to carry on with the GRN/YLW stuff.

grn focus is slopes, not curves

For record, here are the old graphical designs as they were:

we could improve yellow's with santeilas quite easily

One thing you need to realize about Graphic Design or whatever this project is for is to never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever fuck with the aspect ratio of an image or squishing text. That is the biggest no-no in design

Finished, time to texture.
I didnt think you guys would find my assignment so controversial
also i put facepunch studios because facepunch is working in this project and i dont think we have a company logo.
Plus its not like this is the legitimate boxart and stuff anyway
so on a basis of, i can create what i want to, i would like to say thank you for your criticism

I don't think anyone called your work shite and are telling you that you should scrap it. You're showing off your work publicly, so naturally people will criticize and comment on it and IMO everyone who did so did it in a professional way
so I don't know why you'd deem this necessary:

I've only just installed the mod and I'm having difficulty because it won't show in my games library. Does the mod come with patch 1.8.0 anyway and does that mean I just need to install 1.8.0 to 1.9.0 if it doesn't come with patch 1.8.0 anyway?

it would be easier just to install the full mod no patches needed http://www.mediafire.com/download/1ra78beu4bob6bl/Team+Fortress+2+Classic+1.9.0+FULL.7z

Tried that already. Even installing 1.8.0 to 1.9.0 has no effect.
If only they made an .exe installer, this would've been a lot easier.

They eventually will I imagine. It's just that it's barely past the alpha stage, and hardly anyone plays it just now, so there hasn't been a need to make a public installer that is easy to use at the present time.
At least, that's what I think.
