Something that I notice is always missing from this type of color palette in particular, is that it's always missing colors. In the palette, I can spot Team Spirit, Cream Spirit ,An off-shade lighter Team Spirit, what I assume is supposed to be Value of Teamwork, and an off-color shade of Operator's Overalls (If it even is that, or if it's just a metal-specific color, I don't know). However, what I notice is that these types of color palettes based on the official setup are almost always missing Balaclavas are Forever, an Air of Debonair, Waterlogged Labcoat, and maybe some of the other off-color ones (Overalls, Value, and Lighter TS) which, although not used as much, is certainly in the set of colors we need to keep regularly on-hand. If we're doing Medic, for instance, it doesn't help to have about 5 different shades of Waterlogged because there isn't an established official one, yet. There's also Spy, who is still currently grappling between a shade of puke green and mint green as his Green Debonair color. Was the aforementioned palette designed for prop and metal texturing only? It's always mystified me how certain teamcolors are just flat missing, and how others are either off-shade or seemingly designed for metal coloring specifically

What about this palette from a few pages back? [t]http://i.imgur.com/2oTJUGY.png[/t] I've only been lurking here, not posting, but there was a whole thing about making YLW's colors more orangish and GRN's colors more turquoise so that they'd stand out more for map textures and stuff.
Would anyone mind drawing up some concept art for a Health Grenade? I'm remodeling all of the concept grenades, and I'd like to make the Medi-Grenade more, Medic-y.
When is the Trello going public again? [editline]1st July 2015[/editline]
Playing around. I have literally no idea though. Staring at his model isn't really giving me much for whatever reason. Voice suggestions would be nice I suppose. This is gold.

[t]http://i.imgur.com/cmDCmC9.png[/t] Metallic Edge Lines & Grey Combo Colors For The Nobs and Mann co. stamps IDK what do you guys think?
Add marginal edgewear + brush strokes, and also more varied colors throughout the texture to make it stand out and not seem like it's all one flat color. For the approach you're going for (which ideally should rather be a white-beige for the metal with some teamcolored parts so it doesn't interfere so darn much!), you'll need a lot of color variation and probably a few brushstrokes here and there to keep it from attracting too much attention, since it's pure metal of one color. You don't want map props attracting too much attention on their own, so attempt to tone it down Also, take note from existing Spytech computer terminals in TF2: [T]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/443951788017584995/121A1F0FCFC3C3AADE08B76AC7F2A448174C5F4A/[/T] [T]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/443951788017584890/4B7E68A4EE9FEECBB707C321D0EC0E8F28064CEB/[/T] [T]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/443951788017585642/BCD295484990FE91C14B4E95A92BD68F35E94968/[/T] The white-beige is usually the main color of the terminals, with Value of Teamwork (NOT Team Spirit!) being the auxiliary color. Try to replicate that as you're coloring it in. And, even though it's metal, there's not much edgewear, since this machinery hasn't seen very involved usage. But, you can tell the features of each clearly with the color differences and ambient occlusion (so it doesn't blend with itself) btw, I would try to stray away from Mann Co. references for now, imo, and go for a more spytech approach, like TF2 was originally centered around
Is there any interest in me completing this? I haven't touched it in a while
A single unlit screenshot isn't the best way for anyone to judge the map. It looks promising but I suggest adding some lighting and record a video of you doing a walk about of key areas.
think you're in the wrong thread
No i mean its just more reason to get us to work hard at this project, i mean look at where they are taking TF2. The wrong direction
No i mean its just more reason to get us to work hard at this project, i mean look at where they are taking TF2. The wrong direction
In your opinion.
No i mean its just more reason to get us to work hard at this project, i mean look at where they are taking TF2. The wrong direction
So by wrong direction you mean rebalancing the game and adding cool content?
What is it supposed to be? A washing machine?
map prop im hopeing would be used in game and my apply for team resemay
think you're in the wrong thread
Yeah but we can see it just like hats. As a thing to maybe concider NOT putting in the mod. (Though i agree we shouldn't go too off topic with this)
Yeah but we can see it just like hats. As a thing to maybe concider NOT putting in the mod. (Though i agree we shouldn't go too off topic with this)
i thought the devs said hats are never getting in the mod anyway?
No i mean its just more reason to get us to work hard at this project, i mean look at where they are taking TF2. The wrong direction
Yeah but can you not post in Major Update Speculation and go "Quitting modern TF2???? Come look at TF2 Classic!" because it makes the devs look like they're trying to replace TF2 because they think it sucks or something and that sends a pretty bad impression to everyone. Don't do that.

Don't do that.
thats not even a direct quote making it look bad also all i have said so far is: Look at what this thing valve is doing, its gonna ruin teh game even more now. I hope TF2C does better in its future.
For all you guys thinking about quitting TF2 because of this update? Head over To Team Fortress 2 Classic's page! We have fun to be had http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1458694 In that original special tf2 way
This is what you ACTUALLY said. It reflects poorly on the devs when you make posts like that. Plus nobody likes pointless advertising.
thats not even a direct quote making it look bad also all i have said so far is: Look at what this thing valve is doing, its gonna ruin teh game even more now. I hope TF2C does better in its future.
You made it sound like a fucking add you would see in a news paper on top of that the wording and everything comes off like this is some kinda place where TF2 Haters gather up and complain while patting them selves on the back for being so much better then valve. Advertising TF2C like that will leave the team behind it in a negative light. Also why did you even do this? No long time fan of going to quit TF2 because of some shity skins. Also I saw the post they are quoting and its pretty spot on.
Ok im sorry guys for saying what i said, i didnt have a very good morning this morning and i shouldnt have taken it out on all you. So lets get back on topic. Did all of you see the new pass for the Deathmatch trailer? EDIT: Not min, but by frame factory
Alright, so I made a concept for the Medi-Grenade, and then modeled/textured it. Opinions?

It's based off of the German Eihandgranate, for those who may be curious.

The health grenade looks great so far! But I feel like the grey colors on it is too dark or it needs some white accents to increase visibility on the battlefield and push the medic theme (but perhaps the visibility issue might be fixed using health glowy effects when tossed/on the ground). The paint reminds me of the medic's compressed tank on his backpack so I like that. Random idea to throw out there is rather than a pin, a valve is turned before tossing.
