Texture Ideas? [t]http://i.imgur.com/cmDCmC9.png[/t] Metallic Edge Lines & Grey Combo Colors For The Nobs and Mann co. stamps IDK what do you guys think?

Make it look a bit more washed out, the colors are too strong.
heh
Ok im sorry guys for saying what i said, i didnt have a very good morning this morning and i shouldnt have taken it out on all you. So lets get back on topic. Did all of you see the new pass for the Deathmatch trailer? EDIT: Not min, but by frame factory
First off, there's the pause at the start of the video, easy fix. Along with that when he removes his hand from the knob it is very sudden, you can even see some of the jerkiness. I'd spline those key frames if they aren't already and give him a kind of "releasing" finger movement so it doesn't look like he's keeping the same finger and thumb pose as he moves his hand away. I can see that there's some animation on the other fingers but the index and thumb need more movement otherwise it just looks very stale and somewhat lazy. Otherwise great work.
New feature : Weapon exchange and pick up. Weapons dropped by killed players can no longer be picked up for ammo. Killed players will now also drop a medium ammo box. Players that can normally equip the dropped weapon (proper class) can look at the weapon and press the 'action key' to exchange it with what they have equipped. The player's equipped weapon will be dropped on the exchange.
Will this break anything major? Edit: this is the changelog for Gun metal not TF2C
Will this break anything major?
Wrong thread, but I don't think it will in either game.
think you're in the wrong thread
Wasn't there a suggestion/concept picture for colored stock weapons in TF2Classic? (The Concept picture showed some painted scatterguns). Edit: found it:
Live TF2 has incentives, which are cosmetic and players love showing how different they are from others, so I had an idea that players can get these weapon skins, sort of like CS:GO. This idea will probably not be implemented, but each weapon will have 8 skins. (or more/less, depending on the weapon), which will be based off in-game companies. Here's the scattergun for an example. The idea we're trying get across here is that you will be able to aquire different weapon styles through drops in gameplay, and won't exactly be items, but can be unlocked via achivos or drop. The skins on the right will be more common.

Wasn't there a suggestion/concept picture for colored stock weapons in TF2Classic? (The Concept picture showed some painted scatterguns).
Not colored stock weapons, weapon pick-up from dropped players in live TF2.
oh that animation isnt going to be in the video i just made it to show the animator what i needed
Good to know.
Will this break anything major? Dumb X1 Disagree x1
Well will it? Valve changing the ammo pickup system and and weapons you can swap out. Doesn't this mod use tf2 as a base.
Well will it? Valve changing the ammo pickup system and and weapons you can swap out. Doesn't this mod use tf2 as a base.
Technically it uses an older build of TF2, more specifically from the retail Orange Box release. So certain aspects or codes in live TF2 may not work with this mod, and would possibly have to be done from scratch.
Where could one find the leaked source? I'd like to take a look at it.
-snip-
This is the entire leaked tree, so it isn't just TF2-07. illegally obtained source code
I'd snip that
I'd snip that
Fuck, good point. What the hell was I thinking.
Fuck, good point. What the hell was I thinking.
Isn't Valve apathetic about the use of the leaked source? http://i.imgur.com/I0IkydE.png
Isn't Valve apathetic about the use of the leaked source?
They're lax on TF2C because it's a nice community project that makes people happy - Foxing it would cause more harm than good. That doesn't mean that spraying stolen source code everywhere isn't, at the very least, kind of a dick move.
replaced weapon text with 3D model as suggested by benjamoose. thoughts? [t]http://i.imgur.com/hbbbkGp.png[/t]
[t]http://i.imgur.com/nIv5FBM.png[/t] It's almost like Valve made these just for you :V
Alright, so I made a concept for the Medi-Grenade, and then modeled/textured it. Opinions? It's based off of the German Eihandgranate, for those who may be curious.
I don't follow this project closely enough to be sure how everything should look. But if it's a medic grenade it might be wise to use medic's defining white/red (or any other teamcolour) for the grenade to make it easier to read. Could brighten the metal for that a bit and get some higher phong on those areas to do so
[t]http://i.imgur.com/nIv5FBM.png[/t] It's almost like Valve made these just for you :V
I think these looks much better than the current pictures.
we dont and never will have the tf bot code (which mvm is based on), so this is impossible unless there is a new tf2 leak or someone wants to code an entire AI from scratch / counter-strike bots
I don't see why an MVM mode can't be a plug-and-play server mode if someone else wants to develop it. Live TF2 had source mods that alter all kinds of stuff. Again, I really think that client-side mod toggles in TF2C (just the framework, and the ability to allow servers to read what a client has enabled and disable/enable relevant toggles to ensure consistency within a server.) This would put an end to queries about custom modes with the following: "The framework is here, make it yourself." (I've been away a while, I know)

tf2c is based on 2008 code actually (slightly before gold rush update i think), so not exactly the retail 2007 release at least, that's what the files were dated during the leak
So, I was talking with a programmer friend who was on tf2 who showed me several tweaks and funny things to tf_bot entities via direct modification of the entity source code, that he got from a leak. Now, I just realized that tf_bot in TF2 have been released in, like 2011, so there's apparently a mroe recent leak than the current 2008 one. I'm gonna contact him again and find out from where did he get the code. This could be really a plus for the TF2Classic development.
I made a Classic styled Wrench, if that is of any use.

Preferably, taking away from nostalgia, they should also be all the same color so it doesn't look as gaudy; that, or make them buttons and gray out the colors a bit. Otherwise, this is perfect, enough to even get a chance to be on the live TF2 workshop.
I'm loving this mod so far, just installed it, but there seems to be a lack of players in EU servers, doesn' t it?
I made a Classic styled Wrench, if that is of any use.
I love the way you textured the hilt. The small team color difference is very cool, even if it is just a hue akin to grey. Great work.
I made a Classic styled Wrench, if that is of any use.
you probably should make the stripes cream spirit.
...they are Cream Spirit?
...they are Cream Spirit?
cream spirit is confusing then.
