Could always get musetrigger to do a few scout lines.

At this point it would require musetrigger to redo the whole scout voice, cause it wouldn't fit with the rest of Nathan's recordings and would break the magic.
Hey, quick update, I got the WAR! voice responses to work. Apparently the .vcds were missing, but I could rebuild them. It's only about 11 lines, anyways.

I was also testing out some of the unused soldier weapon taunt lines I found. While I think they (weapon taunt lines) should be used for kills of some sort, I'm not too sure if it fits better for ordinary kills or dominations. Thoughts in general?
Good work, but I don't know. I feel like a lot of the quick-speaking friendly whispering in the WAR lines feel out of place outside of the WAR event. That being said, a lot of the lines feature portions which can be salvaged with editing.
Hey guys,
I just got a message from 404 and think you guys should read it.

I highly, HIGHLY doubt he will have anything of worth to say.
To be honest, you should ask whoever is in charge of the mod if it's alright, because what he says could potentially de-rail the thread again for the next 2 pages.

No.
This isn't the time or place for discussing ANYTHING apart from TF2 Classic. What's done is done.
If you feel the need to post stuff like this and it's in any way important, just PM whoever you feel needs to know. Otherwise keep it to yourself.
Regardless of what anyone thinks of 404, this isn't a place to just randomly shit on people for the hell of it whenever something happens. He's welcome to his opinions as are we so let's just leave it that way.

This shit doesn't help either.
When people post stuff like Imacreep's above message, just ignore it. Having a ton of people acknowledging something like this with a full comment is almost as bad as discussing the damn thing in the first place, and serves only to derail in and of itself (I understand I'm being a hypocrite by adding my own, but I feel a point needs to be made here).
In future, if something like this is posted, just rate disagree/dumb and move on. It's what the ratings are there for.
Let's keep this to TF2 Classic discussion only with mild tangents of humor if we can help it.

Am I not allowed to answer someones question with a comment because other people might as well? And why would you bother pointing out that you did it yourself yet still keep it in your comment?
Speaking of TF2 Classic, how is the progress behind the scenes going so far? Apart from the incredible main menu that's coming along we haven't heard much the last couple of weeks.
More trailer work and things we cant reveal yet.
Am I not allowed to answer someones question with a comment because other people might as well??
I feel like you're sort of missing my point entirely. You're welcome to do or comment whatever you want. I'm not dictating what you can and can't do.
My point is just that 10 replies acknowledging potential drama material is almost as silly as discussing the subject itself. Facepunch has ratings for that very purpose. So that you can share your opinion on something stupid or controversial without needing to take the thread on a small tangent.
Someone asked if they should paste a PM from 404. None of us needed to discuss that. We all just needed to rate disagree/dumb and move on. Which is what I hope we can do in the future.
And why would you bother pointing out that you did it yourself yet still keep it in your comment?
I even said in my last reply as to why; to make the very point I just made above in this comment. That leaving ratings is more practical than a bunch of unnecessary replies saying stuff like "I could do with a laugh" or other potentially antagonistic replies.
Unfortunately to make that point, I had to be a hypocrite somewhat by adding a reply myself. But c'est la vie.
I wont be responding on this subject from here on out. Just remember not to "feed the troll" as it were, is all.
If someone brings up something controversial, just rate it and ignore it.

Already sent danielmm8888 a mirror of all the images I had stored on my site a couple of hours (I think) ago.
Not necessarily though. It could just be that they were uploaded without an account and imgur removed them due to traffic. Again, let's not poke the fire.
I noticed with the release of Powerhouse, that Valve has their own green & yellow color palette. Perhaps this can be used since there tends to be a lot of discussion on which palette to use for GRN & YLW? Take a look around Powerhouse and sample some of the green and yellow assets they are using.

If you're implying this thread doesn't reflect on the mod, then you're sorely mistaken. Take a look at the mostly dead official forums for this mod as Exhibit A.
I don't stay around in this thread to read drama. Go take it up in PM, or get the moderators to cut the drama out.

I just got on powerhouse and walked around the map. Firstly, I didn't see much green but I did see a lot of yellow, in different types of barrels, etc... so you'd need to point out to me where the green is.
Secondly, why use it? "There tends to be a lot of discussion on which palette to use for GRN & YLW" gives no justification for using samples of props. There's a lot of discussion because we need to make the colors look good but also be identifiable, and sampling off of random props which aren't used for players doesn't fix anything.

Here are the yellow & green props I was talking about. I'm merely making a suggestion like everyone else does. Instead of trying to make this Facepunch Fortress 2 Classic, why not stick to the source material that Valve has already provided?

We've got some established color schemes already. Thanks to kida23 for compiling all of this:

First Row is what I've got lying around. These are pretty close to the initial few iterations of the teamcolors back in the old thread.
Second Row is this. Not entirely sure where it originated from, but TwoYearLurker brought it back up
Third Row is Dr. Pyspy's WIP one, which (s)he posted here
Fourth Row is what Pie Tony posted from here
Fifth Row is Indutiably Green and Australium Gold paints from live TF2, for reference.
I remember when the discussion trailed off we were closest to the third and fourth color schemes, after regarding color recognition as the best thing to design around. I personally vouch for it, because I've had some issues with telling GRN from YLW.
Instead of trying to make this Facepunch Fortress 2 Classic...
Facepunch is developing this project. We've taken the interests of others, but the dev team and community is majorly from facepunch. This is phrased as if facepunch's involvement is bad.
Furthermore, it's a useless argument against my feedback... you're not really proving anything.
...why not stick to the source material that Valve has already provided?
The "source material" you speak of is coming from props not meant to be colors worn by the team. They are props, meant to give visual interest to a map, not to complement the thoroughly designed color theory of TF2's characters.
I'd agree with you if the source material was directly related to whatever's being developed, but it isn't applicable in this case.
I'm merely making a suggestion like everyone else does.
...
It's just a suggestion.
Yes, and the point of a suggestion is to turn into more than a suggestion. If your suggestion is serious, then it must take argument and feedback to prove that it's a good suggestion and deserves to be developed further.
Just noticed the thing about the Gmod colour palette compilation thingy. I think instead of on GM Construct (or whatever the map is called) it should be done on several TF2 maps, particularly ones with extreme lighting like Borneo (IIRC) as HL2 lighting is quite a bit different to TF2's, and maps will have different effects on the colours.
I must say, if kida23's version of the colors hold up well in TF2's lighting it would be the preferred palette for me. It looks very nice and identifiable. Hopefully a color palette can be agreed upon quickly so map assets can be made to help me get back into mapping.

No, the point of a suggestion is to suggest it. We don't have to turn it into some overly complicated roleplay/fanfic to validate it.
Something I'd like to do is record a demo next time a playtest happens, create actual textures for these ylw/grn colors, bookmark times where I don't see a grn/ylw player very well and after recording change the player's color to a more identifiable color and see if it was easier to spot them. I don't know how to go about making these skins, though.
At request, I've whipped up a few more comparison shots on various maps. I kinda had to improvise with lighting situations, since unfortunately, Borneo would not load under any circumstances.
I've taken multiple shots of the scenes, btw, so don't forget to click those too.

Thoughts?
I found that the back two shades of green, while visually distinct from Yellow, starts to resemble teal in darker areas or at distances, which in turn begins to resemble Blue. I'm also not very partial to the very back shade of yellow, it seems.. "off", somehow, in my opinion. I'd also quite like to test out Blaholtzen's mustard yellow palettes, too, but I really can't find those anywhere. Was it in the old thread?
