Has anyone else noticed the GRN and YLW colour choice for the classes are a bit too bright? I wanted to try my hand at colouring them, and these are my results [IMG]http://i.imgur.com/MGQbPy7.jpg[/IMG] [IMG]http://i.imgur.com/AdE3Bzq.jpg[/IMG] If you need their RBG colours, they are: GRN: R:66 B:79 G:59 YLW: R:184 B:128 G:53
The green looks quite too dark, and the yellow just looks orange.
the existing red/blu are lighter to be more distinguishable, hence green/yellow should also be a tad lighter to follow that trend.
Are we combining the Civilian and Team Fortress 2 Classic threads? Or should we confine all Civilian design comments to the "New Civilian Character" thread? [url]http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1397838[/url]

I also just finished a bunch of lines for the mercenary, unfortunately, so far, I've only been able to come up with lines he says after killing more than one enemy in one minute. From what I gather, he is a psychotic former military man who is also very passionate about his job. I tried to combine all of these things. In the end, I created lines for a psychopath with military experience who gets a high off of killing, often equating it to drug use. I'd just like to run these by you. Mercenary lines: Killing more than one enemy in a minute: Murder: it's FANtastic. And people say I'm crazy. I just made a man bleed out, WHO'S CRAZY NOW?! Rip and tear! Rip and tear! This is the kind of stuff dreams are made of. You thought your training and preparation could save you? I HAVEN'T SLEPT IN A WEEK, (mad laughter). I don't need drugs. My job is my drug! Damn! What a rush! Winners don't do drugs! They viciously savage their fellow humans! I am a man! Never forget that! I don't need to go to Nam. THIS is my Nam right here! (Mad laughter) Choke on that! You call yourself a man? You're nothing! Shoot man, what a HIGH! One murder to take me up, and another three to bring me back down.... Here comes the night train! I've had steaks tougher than you! I wanted to try my hand at colouring them, and these are my results[/QUOTE] While I do think that the green may be a tad too dark and that the colors may not be ideal, I have to admit that I agree with you to some extent about the current colors. They're not very easy on the eyes at the moment in-game (a little too intense), and do look like texture "recolors" as opposed to the same uniforms in different stock colors.

Truth be told, I added the drug thing because I realized that with a personality of being psychotic and militaristic, he's basically the Soldier. So, I tried to add a new angle to differentiate him a bit.
I really don't see any good way around the emblems blending in with the yellow characters. It's quite annoying.

EDIT: Yes, [I]I know[/I] about the pinky fingers being something that can't be ignored, OneFourth. And as I've stated numerous times, I absolutely can't animate to save my life, and there are absolutely no animation fixes out that exist at current for the biggest offenders (Soldier, Demoman, Sniper, Engineer). There's a Scout, Medic, and Heavy one - the former two of which don't fix much for crowbar specifically, and the latter I've gotten permission to use. Other than that, absolutely nobody's stepped up to [I]actually[/I] fixing this for all of the classes. Unfortunately. And don't worry about me submitting it in an unfinished state, I'm not going to. At least, not until somebody fixes the Soldier, Demoman, Sniper, and Engineer melee allclass animations. Hey, I can't do everything alone! I'm doing my best with what I know and have... It's quite annoying.[/QUOTE] I understand that those were the teams in TF, but I see a lot of problems coming from the Yellow team sadly, for a start both RED/BLU using yellow in their color schemes and yellow itself is not a good contrast color to the green team either.

You would just have to change the gloves a bit.

I don't have the bigger version on hand, but its the one most everyone agreed upon and we have been using for the longest time: [img]http://puu.sh/gpICx.png[/img] That being said there is still always the possibility of some of the color choices can change at any point in time, however it is unlikely that they will.
Alright, it pains me to ask here but I can't figure this out. I can launch the game through steam and everything but I've been running into a myraid of problems. I used the torrent to download the game and put it in the correct directory, and then I attempted to launch it but I was met with an engine error stating some models were missing, so I downloaded the one from mega and reinstalled to see if that fixed it, and now the game just force-closes at the loading screen. I've checked my Source SDK Multiplayer 2013 to make sure I have it installed and set to upcoming beta, and the game is in the right directory. Anyone have any idea what's going on here? I'm on Windows 8.1. Also, strangely enough, the updater can't detect what version I have. Is it possible the installation somehow got messed up both times?
