If you take 100 people and have them make a cake, it's not gonna be a very good cake. Project management is the same way. If you have all these people throwing out random bits and pieces of code and art and ideas, you quickly ruin your scope and any semblance of a plan. Instead of a cake you end up with a bowl full of salty batter with frosting on it. Management includes managing users, and that means limiting the white noise to some degree. It's a necessity if anything good is going to be created and keep a coherent quality to it. The trello page keeps track of progress but doesn't keep progress from being hindered on the creation end. You need some chefs who are more in charge than others to limit what goes in the cake. I'm not saying this to support either side(I think this is my first post in this thread). If anything good management is staying in the grey area between staff/user/whatever happiness and manager/team happiness. It's a trade off, for both sides.
Finally! [T]http://i.imgur.com/eLBW24d.jpg[/T]
When the images are small like this, the shadow above the left eye makes him look confused and bewildered.
It's better than keeping the boring brown/crap desert only theme from the original map
True, but we have to test the map first with the original layout and then we plan what to add. Now and then just throwing my ideas for the map design and theme.
One of our modelers, N-Cognito, is working on a Janitor model at the moment. https://p3d.in/23chb
The model's awesome but the nose's bridge seems squished compared to the concept art.
I took some advice from Tyler and made some concept art for the Commando Class [T]http://oi61.tinypic.com/2dub28x.jpg[/T] #VNNisalwaysright

Im going to talk about Body groups For the Merc and what i think I think they should be achievement unlock-able, or if there is a drop system someday, super easy to find, easy as weapons I also would like to say an Easter egg such as "The lost Head Of The Commando" would be a body group for The Merc and it is literally Tylers head
When the images are small like this, the shadow above the left eye makes him look confused and bewildered.
Are you always trying to find the silly in the pretty normal? How about the fact that the left hand is holding the shotgun with the tips of the fingers, instead of with the whole hand like a normal person? I never commented on this because I felt someone would notice that it's pretty weird that he does that.

[t]http://i.imgur.com/CJceR.jpg[/t] Thinking of resurrecting this 3 year old project for TF2C. [editline] edit[/editline] I'll have to assume the agrees mean a "pls dutchman yes do that"
This is what happens when there's no auto-balance and you can become a civilian.
Honestly,if I were you and I had better map making skills I would change the entire desert theme to alpine , or industry, I just personaly hate desert themes
It has been talked about, and it will mostly gonna be a industrial/hydro themed map.

The menus ended up impossible for regular TF2 as we had to mod the game .. now that we are modding the game, it should be possible.
Made this account just to ask: will the Demoman have 6 pipes and will his reload animation actually work like intended?
If you play the game right now the model has 4 grenades (both in function and model) and a working reload animation. All spinny shooty action works too.
Have you guys thought out the score system for DeathMatch gamemode? Something like CS:GO would work i think. Basicly giving you more points for using bad guns and melee.
-snip-
Also this would be a great fix for pistols. http://tf2.gamebanana.com/skins/139525 I dont own it though just showing.

Other than that, great addition to the game!
Very small notice/announcement about TF2C. Crosspost from TF2C forums: Hello! Currently, TF2C is in need of some people to host some servers. We're looking for a variety of different things: Official Testing Server (EU and/or US) Which would have to: -Be able to host only our indev maps (future, and present) -Not have any other group or service's name on it (simply a TF2C testing server) and not have a non-TF2C admin pool larger than 3 members (for now) -Grant a select few of the mapping devs some powers (essential: map switch, set/extend time. helpful: vote, kick, ban) -Have no game-changing or otherwise experience modifying mods The idea is we would use this server primarily for testing our maps, announcements should happen in the main group to bring people in, and you of course maintain control over the server. And would be helpful to: -Allow a select few devs to upload maps to the server -Use Geit's feedback mod which IIRC is obtainable if you ask him (though I don't have anything to back this up other than pure old memories) Official Rotation Server (All regions, EU and US preferable) Which would have to: -Be able to host only our rotation maps (future, present) -Not have any other group or service's name on it (simply a TF2C testing server) and not have a non-TF2C admin pool larger than 3 members (for now) -Grant a select few of the mapping devs some powers (essential: map switch, set/extend time. helpful: vote, kick, ban) -Have no game-changing or otherwise experience modifying mods Some unofficial servers would be good as well, which could be used temporarily for testing while we do not have official server/s or at times of day when there's no appropriate official server. Keep in mind we're currently only looking for one official server per region. Unofficial Testing Server -Hosts mainly our indev maps (future and present) And also should either have a host or admin who is happy to host map tests regularly if needed. -Have no game-changing or otherwise experience modifying mods Unofficial Rotation Server -Hosts primarily our rotation maps (future and present) -Have no game-changing or otherwise experience modifying mods If anyone's interested in any of these feel free to enquire in the TF2C forums thread or add me on Steam. Edit: For clarification as there's nothing on that here, rotation maps are valve-quality complete maps and testing maps are indev maps.
A map testing server would be really neato
Also, I'd be happy to host a server as soon as I finally get TF2C to work.
I don't see the necessity of this.
people need to know how to install the game yo
Putting dibs on ctf_epicenter, since I have some experience with Hammer and really want to see how the map will look and play like in the Source engine. Consider me in, I guess; might be able to get a very basic version done in the next couple of days or so, if I have enough time that is.
Also, I'd be happy to host a server as soon as I finally get TF2C to work.
That would be great, hit me up on Steam about that (especially assuming you're going for official? not sure seeing as you didn't specify)
people need to know how to install the game yo
Well they can read the first page on this thread,as it's there slightly above the download links themselves.
