tf2 characters with darker team colored upper bodies tend to have yellow on their chest. it makes it easier for players to identify which weapon a character is holding, like if they've got their melee out you can see their bright yellow ammo belt/grenades. also helps to identify the character itself.
either he has an ammo belt (something specific to the heavy) or he has grenades, unless there's something better to replace them with.

I'm not THAT kind of people.
I said that because I'd like to help in this project, putting a little of my ideas but each time I say something I finish with 9874 "dumb" rating. I'm a super-duper over-sensible person and not a veteran of facepunch, so those hurt me, even if the idea is [B]sometimes, not ever[/B] stupid to me. I gotta thanks Maxxy (I think it's him, due to the picture & that he model stuff) to have somehow explained his dumb reply.

Yes, but pockets could have done this too. (I was sure that grenades weren't making their way in tf2c [beside concussion?], so I was confused. And as I replied to mister Jukebox, the soldier & pyro were supposed to have grenades to use & valve got too lazy [B][I]<- This is the not obvious joke. This is the not very obvious clue that there was a joke. (See, the word humor.) ->[/I][/B] (nah, too far in development, me and my humor) so they didn't want to change the character's general look.

There's no indication that Valve was still thinking about grenades by the time the current Soldier and Pyro were designed. I would think that would be an early decision, anyways; it's a pretty big change. Grenades just happen to look nice on those classes, and are a good spot for the cream colours.
Also, protip: Don't talk about dumb ratings. When you complain about dumb ratings, you get more dumb ratings. Just try not to do whatever it is you've done to get dumbed again.

Valve didn't get lazy, they cut grenades because in TFC they were just spammed the entire game. You should look into stuff like this before assuming things.

Excuse me, my little joke wasn't very obvious. I know this; I've done some research months ago for a tf2 mod and I also played hydro with the developers commentary, which stated the spamming grenade issue, making the players relies too much on them. And you shouldn't jump to conclusion my dear friend :3

For the record, mat_picmip was cut a little after the Mac update because Mac users had instability once they turned it on. And since the SDK2013 is based off of the relatively current TF2/CSS code, the material system is hardcoded and mat_picmip is still locked. We'd need to do a vmt edit of EVERY model in the game to "enable" mat_picmip -10 again. Thankfully, it's already been done before for both the standard TF2 and the TiP models!
We would just need to get the VPK mount system working, and make it an available download. I for one think that the mat_picmip VPK for standard models should be added standard for the mod, I'm pretty sure everyone's PC can handle it now, and we don't have a Mac/Linux build right now afaik, so why not?

Hi, mapping lead for TF2C here.
As much as I love your artpass, I don't think it's wise to add cp_orange to the mod. The detail might be great, but the layout over-all is not even close to the standard we should be trying to reach.
For instance:
- Super large sightlines
- Lack of forward spawns
- Map is not divided at all like maps should be
- The map is incredibly flat which makes it uninteresting to play on
- Spawn forces you to flip 180 degrees which is annoying and illogical
- Spawncamping issues
And a list of that many major issues really doesn't need to be expanded any further.

So is it just gonna be the Pipebomb Launcher from TFC as a sidegrade for the Stickybomb Launcher, or according to it's namesake, be a sidegrade for the Grenade Launcher that focuses on some mechanic involving grenade bounce?
I'd be fine with either choice if that were the case, but former would be preferable since you know classic I guess and we already have a Grenade Launcher sidegrade atm.

It will have custom animations for him using the pump, and loading new grenades into the drum/magazine from a side loading port, instead of the gun breaking open to reload.

Technically, they ARE on teams, it just doesn't affect their relationships. Also, Unassigned isn't a spectator team, it's a default team that all entities join at spawn. Spectators is a separate team.

I never said that he couldn't contribute, the tf2c project is all fair game for design and concept art. He just shouldn't act so ill because someone else had a similar ideas to his, quote "Forced my hand", and you shouldn't assume that I'm being vicious about something in the same regard.
Regardless there's no sense in dragging along drama here in the thread, when both models are all said and done, we'll have a group vote on which to include in the final mod.

ik it's like a critique minefield here. :P
So I'm like, back and stuff. Did 48 Windows Updates at once and after my PC restarted twice to finalize the updates, it logged me into a user account that had a fresh desktop, but my user name. After rebooting, I discovered that my PC was hanging on Starting Windows and then after 15 minutes, it would blue screen on me with a BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO error. Booting into Safe Mode would hang at loading the CLASSPNP.SYS driver, and after 15 minutes would bring up the BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO blue screen.
After booting into Ubuntu 14.04 Desktop from my DVD drive, I managed to backup all my files. When I went to reformat my PC, I discovered that there was a preloaded Gateway Recovery Manager program that had an option to reformat the PC to factory defaults but backup all my files to "C:/Backup" that I didn't know about. D'oh!
I'm now currently reinstalling EVERYTHING I had installed which is going to take forever. On the plus side, I discovered how awesome Ubuntu 14.04's GUI is, and I discovered the Firefox Developer browser.
5 days I've been without a working PC. :suicide:
