now 404 get me a working linux build thanks
I don't run Ubuntu 14.04 Desktop anymore. I'm back on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I also dunno how to get a Linux build working.
Right. Ive looked up the concept art before tf2 and found some good stuff. The pictures I found had weapons I wish to revive for tf2c. Did 48 Windows Updates at once and after my PC restarted twice to finalize the updates, it logged me into a user account that had a fresh desktop, but my user name. After rebooting, I discovered that my PC was hanging on Starting Windows and then after 15 minutes, it would blue screen on me with a BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO error. Booting into Safe Mode would hang at loading the CLASSPNP.SYS driver, and after 15 minutes would bring up the BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO blue screen. After booting into Ubuntu 14.04 Desktop from my DVD drive, I managed to backup all my files. When I went to reformat my PC, I discovered that there was a preloaded Gateway Recovery Manager program that had an option to reformat the PC to factory defaults but backup all my files to "C:/Backup" that I didn't know about. D'oh! I'm now currently reinstalling EVERYTHING I had installed which is going to take forever. On the plus side, I discovered how awesome Ubuntu 14.04's GUI is, and I discovered the Firefox Developer browser. 5 days I've been without a working PC. :suicide:
That friendly means sympathy. :P

Append .jpg to the end of the link to get the images to show up properly.
-Long story of a some bullshit that happened-
I remember the 2 months I didn't have a computer. All my friends thought I was dead and even set up a memorial. Also, 404, I'm sorry for being a hot headed jackass.
[editline]16th April 2015[/editline] Thx guys So, fixed btw! :P Check it out
Yeah we're already doing the HW Guy concept minigun, the concept Flamethrower and some other stuff from that art. EDIT: In regards to Frying Dutchman's Disagree rating on this post, I disagree with Dutchman: [t]http://i.imgur.com/GOWJsWa.png[/t] Those are the weapons we should eventually be adding once focus turns to new weapons. Chaingun is there (that's the concept minigun) and the concept flamethrower is there, among other concept weapons. EDIT 2: Ok so the concept art isn't all there. He didn't include the Pyro concept art where he's holding the old flamethrower. The only thing I see in his images that we're adding is the concept art minigun. So Dutchman's disagree was half-correct.

And while I really like the idea of Pyro getting a Vickers Machine gun, it would probably mess up his role in combat; people would use him for shooting people instead of setting them on fire, unless it was another Pistol clone like the Sniper SMG. It'd be cool if the Demo got a Flare gun-sized Grenade launcher that functioned like the Detonator, but the Grenades detonate on impact, and don't deal flame damage.
I'd hate to see handheld grenades of any kind implemented into this.
I'd hate to see handheld grenades of any kind implemented into this.
I wouldnt, But if it's actually taking up a valuable slot like secondary, then I'm absolutely fine with it.
are there any intentions to add the repair node?
are there any intentions to add the repair node?
No. Valve did a big writeup about why the repair node is shit.

[t]http://i.imgur.com/tVW2Lpn.png[/t] So yeah made some custom team skin colors.
For the record, mat_picmip was cut a little after the Mac update because Mac users had instability once they turned it on. And since the SDK2013 is based off of the relatively current TF2/CSS code, the material system is hardcoded and mat_picmip is still locked. We'd need to do a vmt edit of EVERY model in the game to "enable" mat_picmip -10 again. Thankfully, it's already been done before for both the standard TF2 and the TiP models! We would just need to get the VPK mount system working, and make it an available download. I for one think that the mat_picmip VPK for standard models should be added standard for the mod, I'm pretty sure everyone's PC can handle it now, and we don't have a Mac/Linux build right now afaik, so why not?
Was really wondering about this and was disappointed when I saw the command did nothing, but this along with VPK support being discussed more for this is promsing
The idea was to toss out the idea of paint naming as people would instantly think it has to be yellow. RED/BLU was designed purely as counterparts to each other as there was no YLW team to even consider. Plus there's been problems with yellow on yellow being hard to see, certainly on the characters which use both primary and secondary and on the class icons. The primary Yellow is also quite bright compared to the others so the idea was to switch the primary and secondary grayscales. There is logic behind it, it wasn't just to be rebellious. GRN has white as it just seemed odd to have yellow on what is the counterpart/nemisis to the YLW team, but that was certainly a more crazy line of thought.
I have to agree. This has been an ongoing concern in the back of my mind. As you say; RED and BLU were not designed with having a yellow themed team in mind. I think it makes more sense to attempt a consistency between GRN and YLW in the same vein, rather than just directly copy. It's better to make them look more visually appealing. The yellow on yellow in particular is rather intense.
Was really wondering about this and was disappointed when I saw the command did nothing, but this along with VPK support being discussed more for this is promsing
I have to admit, I really dislike the .vpk system. I find it tedious. If a packing method is necessary as opposed to the old method, is it not feasible to use .zip files?
I have to admit, I really dislike the .vpk system. I find it tedious. If a packing method is necessary as opposed to the old method, is it not feasible to use .zip files?
Because .zip files aren't integrated into the engine and are kinda better than zip files because of their native format. I don't mean that as in they're just renamed zips but you get the idea. What's so tedious about them? Compiling them/making them or integrating them in general? Also if anything, VPKs are a lot like GCF files, but read quickly compared to them.
I'm not sure if you guys are referring to it, but support for vpks in the custom folder is and always has been in TF2C as far as I'm aware.

I mean I know what they are and what they do. But I still find them tedious. Practical maybe, but definitely tedious. Thanks for the info.
Alright, just going to start a dumb little discussion here: As we are discussing the designs for the GRN and YLW teams, a curious thought appeared on my mind: Who are the owners of those teams? :v: I mean, RED and BLU's owners are Redmond Mann and Blutarch Mann, respectively. What kind of color related puns the other teams owners names would have? Would they be part of the Mann family, or from another one?
Someone said Greenwich Mann before for GRN, I'm not sure for YLW.
Best I could think of is Yale Mann
I wasn't personally aware having not attempted plopping any mods in, but I am now. Thanks for the info.
Yeah, VPK support comes with the 2013 engine, so TF2C always had it.
So, how's the Civi model coming along?
So, how's the Civi model coming along?
I remember that blah and others said they had other things on their schedule and didn't really have time to work on it, but recently they could start working on it again. I haven't seen anything else from them though.
