How about an AR-180? It'd fit in with the Mann Co. feel of cheap, silly-looking weapons and look less generic than an M16. It was very popular with the IRA, since it was cheap as hell and somewhat reliable; American sympathizers sent them over in the hundreds.
A Kalashnikov rifle has a very distinct silhouette and also easy to spot wooden stock, while the AR-15 type rifles are all black rifles.
I'd like to see an AK for sure
or an older rifle like a BAR
The FG42 has a pretty unique and hi tech look.
I don't really understand this entire argument. Blaholtzen has provided solid reasons why purple would work so much better than yellow, and the only real reasons I've seen for keeping it is that it's traditional. Hopefully the new yellow palette you're working on solves all the visibility issues, since nobody seems to agree with purple, which is a shame.
well for one i agree with purple [editline]23rd April 2015[/editline]
Problem solved [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/2yhtpvmdxrd7llc/teamwaa.png[/t]
give me a mod of this right now XD [editline]23rd April 2015[/editline]
well for one i agree with purple [editline]23rd April 2015[/editline] give me a mod of this right now XD
#WAH team to replace ylw team no rly do this and i will actually pay you would even be better with wario player models Wah's meaning Wario Animatronic Hardware (would get reference if you know the fan game of FNAW a paraody of five nights at freddy's instead it is five nights at WARIO'S MICROGAME IMPORIUM)

So it seems while I was driving home from work, OVH customer support discovered a "defect" in my system, and also detected a DDoS attempt and subsequently "vacuumed up" all traffic from the attacker. This is the first time I've ever received an email about a defect. Oddly enough, it seems the attack was detected first, followed by the defect, then the defect seemingly disappeared, and I just now received an email telling me the DDoS attack has been handled. I do apologize if anything went down but from what I can see, nothing did go down. Check these emails out though: First I got this:
We have just detected an attack on IP address <redacted but easily discoverable>. In order to protect your infrastructure, we vacuumed up your traffic onto our mitigation infrastructure. The entire attack will thus be filtered by our infrastructure, and only legitimate traffic will reach your servers. At the end of the attack, your infrastructure will be immediately withdrawn from the mitigation.
^--Sucks to be whoever is trying to knock my shit offline. Then I got this:
Our monitoring system, has just detected a defect on your server. This defect was noted at 2015-04-23 16:35:02. Our technicians, who work 24 hours a day, have also received this alert. However, they may be conducting another intervention and we are unable to give you a precise time. You will be informed at the beginning of the intervention by email. While waiting for the intervention of our teams, you always have the possibility of hardware reboot in the manager.
Then this weirdness:
On 2015-04-23 16:35:02, we noticed a fault on your server and we have scheduled an intervention in order to fix this fault. However, on 2015-04-23 16:36:13 our monitoring system did not detect any fault on your dedicated server. We did not intervene on your machine. We do not know the origin of this fault. The scheduled intervention has been cancelled from our list.
But yeah. Glad to know OVH's mitigation works because I didn't notice any downtime of any of my gameservers or the website. Wish there was some way they could give me the IP address that was behind the attack but they won't.
Found some worthy weapons! (Plus assault rifle) [t]http://i.imgur.com/ZnIFpVw.jpg[/t]
Damn, people must hate you so much that they have to fucking DDoS you. Damn people these days.
I originally didn't archive any attack-related emails from OVH until I discontinued my services with OVH and switched over to their smaller sister site Kimsufi.com. Best I can guess for how many attacks I've been hit with before I switched to Kimsufi?.....probably 20 in the 2 years I was with OVH. I ended up buying 2 of the same model dedis (same model as the one I used to have with OVH) for $20/month a piece. I was paying $40/month for 1 from OVH so this was the better deal. 198.245.49.206 is mine and holds my gameservers, the TF2C site and forums, and my TF2 beta/cut content archives. 198.245.60.209 is for the people I host servers for (Mass Crabbing Co., Stormgate Inc., Deadwood Associates, TF2 Casino & Gambling and Killacow Gaming). Ever since I switched to Kimsufi I've begun saving all attack-related emails (emails come from OVH because OVH owns Kimsufi) [t]http://i.imgur.com/IA7fepz.png[/t] 3 in one month on 60.209. Two of them occurred on March 3rd. All the attacks on 60.209 are from when the owner of Mass Crabbing Co. decides to fire up his custom DarkRP server ("Nazis and Niggas RP"). Eventually someone gets banned, gets angry and decides to DDoS the fuckin' thing. That's where having 2 dedis comes in handy, because my shit isn't affected by DDoS attacks on his shit anymore, unlike when I was with OVH. And just think, I haven't mentioned the THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS of failed attempts to log into root on my servers. I kinda accidentally discovered the auth.log files, and was shocked to see numerous attempts from the same IP (usually chinese or russian-based), trying to log in to root and failing, then trying different usernames like "brian", "george", "guest", and all failing. I personally feel we should go with something that stands out at a distance which you can also instantly connect with an assault rifle. It should be vibrant in color to stand out from the background easily, and I feel the wooden parts do the job well. That's just my opinion, going with assault rifles that have wooden parts or parts that are not black.
Would love to play a 128 player all engineer game on 2fort.

I thought this gun looked cool. It looks like it's based on a SA80A2 but more cartoonized. Drawing from Todaz from Deviant Art

The two teams were fighting over the land the Mann brothers made their father brought in the US.
[t]http://www.imfdb.org/images/f/fa/GalilARM-2.jpg[/t] A more cartoonish version of the Gali could work too, as it was used in the general time-frame as the Gravel Wars started, as well as having a pretty distinguishable silhouette.
What about a modified MAC 10 with a silencer and scope like Snake Plissken used in escape from New York? Its easily identifiable and has an obvious silhouette. Though it might need to be a heavier weapon
What about a modified MAC 10 with a silencer and scope like Snake Plissken used in escape from New York? Its easily identifiable and has an obvious silhouette. Though it might need to be a heavier weapon
A silenced and scoped minigun.
I kinda like all those dumb ugly rifles like the galils and the fn fals, so if there's going to be an assault rifle, I think those kinds would be best. Also I wanted to draw up a little suggestion that's not specifically a single gun.
Or we could go with this or this They don't have to be authentic to the weaponry because that's what TF2 is not known for,I was trying to find really distinct silhouettes while it kept the style of TF2. It does not matter when it was manufactured,if it works,it works. I wanna put more choices to the plate, since by just a select few of known rifles (ArmaLite rifles,Colt AR-15 rifles etc.) we could be missing out on even better stuff.

Had a go at designing a full kritzkrieg replacement
Had a go at designing a full kritzkrieg replacement -arte-
I feel like the backpack would fit better without the antennae, or with a single straight antennae rather than two silly bent ones.
trying to match the style of the uneven coils on the original, might be a little too bent though i suppose. One straight antenna would probably disappear behind his head a lot of the time, making them less effective at altering the silhouette to display him having a different weapon
