I was thinking more along the lines of a crowbar to be honest. A nice generic weapon for a nice generic mercenary.

I don't know about others, but in my opinion this could replace the default rocket launcher.
Looks just about right for the time period and it is the TFC rocket launcher anyway, so I think it'd fit in. At least, the two rocket launchers wouldn't look so identical to each other anymore.

On the topic of the Chain of Command, it originally had a magazine, maybe we could skip a lot of crap if SVDL would be cool enough to maybe extend the magazine and retexture that? It already fits the artstyle, it'd fit what's needed, and I....just really wanna play with it :D.

It's not something like that, it IS that.
I had some general thoughts/ideas for the promotional shots:
For promoting death match i'd like to see 9 differently colored DM-Mercs, each holding a specific weapon and posed similarly to the original shot, i figure that's the most interesting and relevant way to show him off as it displays his multiple weapons use and the free use of color in free for all DM. Like mentioned posing him along wiht the original 9 gives the impressing that he's an additional class like the 'striker' from final combat, which would more or less just make us look dumb.
Once we got to promoting Escort/Hunted/VIP we could put the civillian in the middle with the original mercs poses as if they were forced to make room for him but besides that stand similarly to how they are originally. If we end up reducing which classes are involved in the mode we might want them to not be in the group shot either.
And then finally for Espionage i figure if we want to do a line-up shot we could take it more in the direction of the concept poster majiggy i did, with more noire-esque lighting and with the spy lurking in the shadows.

One rifle does not turn a game into a CoD clone. I don't think the appearance of the assault rifle is even set in the stone yet, I mean, people have been suggesting FN FAL, AK-47 and AR-18 or Svdl's weird but aesthetically pleasing combination of those three rifles.

although actually looking at it I don't feel it's proportioned right for TF2, but the texture is pretty good.
Something a bit more blocky and thicker like the Chinese assault rifle from Fallout would probably be better

There was a new model for the RPG in development not too long ago, but the modeler who was working on it left the team due to a conflict:

this is a very outdated picture of the model, it was much further along and close to texturing phase when he left.
The stock rocket launcher isn't going to be changed as its the most recognized model between the two, plus its stock, but the RPG will eventually be re-modeled provided another one of the team's modelers picks it up, or should the modeler that left change his mind and come back.

I don't see why would there be a telescopic sight when it's blocked by the stock iron sights unless it's on the side like the Direct Hit.

That was actually scrapped mind development in exchange for a double iron sight like an actual RPG:

As i mentioned it was much further developed and we had several discussions about the scope, we had eventually decided to go for the double sight, that way it would still have a more unique silhouette but still be like an actual RPG.
