ive been thinking of ways to make the burn overlay look nicer, and I came up with this: [url]http://i.imgur.com/zqDU2qZ.png[/url] imagine the orange parts glow and were $selfillum'd, and the burning player texture played on top of it. it would have an animation/effect for appearing and disappearing on a player (maybe a slow fade?) the scorch parts would be a bodygroup and it would ultimately tie into the dynamic wound thing

Hey, that could be a cool little bit of lore for him. He has no money to buy and maintain his own weapons and ammo so he has to pick up whatever was left behind in the wake of a previous battle involving specialized mercenaries. Also, something I want to say about deathmatch mode's gameplay. Please, I am burnt out on old-school arena shooters where the rocket launcher wins always. Please figure out a weapon that could compete with the rocket launcher enough to serve as an alternative.

[/QUOTE] I understand that calling him the Mercenary can seem confusing since the other classes also are mercenaries, but you have to take into account that he's called that way since he has no specialization and is a jack of all trades. The other classes have a proficiency in what they do hence why they have their own titles but the Mercenary is just that, a "generic mercenary" filling no specific purpose.

So yeah, an extremely low chance of confusion, so I guess it is good enough.[/QUOTE] Most people see TF2 as a lighthearted game where guys from several teams hate and kill each other for seemingly no purpose, and will most likely not know enough about the lore to be aware that the 9 classes are mercs and will see the Mercenary as his own thing. But those who do know about the lore will know how to differentiate "the mercenaries" and "the Mercenary" without problem. I also doubt people want to attempt to make up some tittle for him and take the risk of coming up with something that will sound really cheesy to some people, his name is already established for several people anyway.

Wow, why this kind of things always happen during USA/Asia timezones? Well, look the positive side, you know a mod has gone strong enough to keep going when you manage to pass the first community shitstorm. I remembered the old concept of doing "TFC like" playermodels for the DM mode, I guess is now abandoned since the new merc model, right?

On what you said, We were tracking some misc developement, and we were also having some discussion an balancing things, suggestion, and maping. I'll miss it.

There was a nice amount of planned stuff going on in the hidden dev boards (or at least on my end, I liked using it for logging stuff and planning rather than the trello). Lucky it's all kept safe in my head. Edit: Though there wasn't crazy amounts of discussion going on, most of it either goes on here or in the developer Slack chat.
