What rank though? That's pretty normal on non-prime ge.
If reports have anything more than a negligible effect on the rating then it's going to be fucked. You can just report bot people into the cheater queue.
Honestly it will probably improve MM games at low ranks, but SMFC/Global is going to end up losing anyone who is nutty (Faceit 9/10, ESEA A/A+ in NA terms) because they get reported nearly every game and this will just force them into the cheater queue.
If you want good pugs in 2018 then you're going to need to pay for it I guess.
There are rumors that it monitors your bans in other games, forum bans and other irrelevant CSGO shit and based on that - matches you with same fuckers.
And those with high rep - have stronger vote capacity than those in low rep hole.
Could be lies though.

I believe them when they say they take this stuff into account. However that isn't going to do anything to stop someone cheating on their main, only on an alt.

It also matches hours played.
So instead of getting matched:
LEM <-> LEM
It might work as:
1400 HRS <-> 1400 HRS
LEM <-> LEM
You rarely see smurfs with over 400 hours.
Most people probably wont cheat on their mains.

Hours are easily faked though. Seen plenty of people going blatant with 3k+ hours.
depends on what type of hours, ingame time or matchmaking time

whatever the case, I can't see how this system will help at all. Everyone reports each other for the smallest shit and if it actually only goes for the logged hours it's easy to just bot that, and because there's apparently no way to disable this feature in the lobby I say matchmaking is done for.
Q: I suspect that my friend has a low Trust Factor because of the quality of my matches when, and only when, I party up with them. What can I do about this?
A: Tell them to email us as recommended above. Be aware that when players are in a party, we use the lowest Trust Factor of any individual in the party for matchmaking purposes.
Oh jeez what a poor choice, not even the average, they're just straight up using the lowest denominator out of the party.
This is just gonna breed toxic attitude.
also this system will prevent new players from properly playing. Reason being if you suck you'll get reported for griefing, if you're better than the rest you get reported for hacking. So whatever you do your trust rating will drop and you'll be stuck in oblivion, UNLESS valve will do something that prevents people from reporting literally everyone, but I doubt they'll do anything.

And, here comes yet another unpopular opinion, but I think the new rank icon designs suck. I'm not colorblind but I can see huge brightness issues, the backdrop is simply too bright compared to the symbols on the rank itself. I do like the added rank that shows that you lost it because of time tho, would make it easier for people to join other lobbies and not get kicked instantly thinking this dude is unranked.
[editline]14th November 2017[/editline]
only applies to the gn and mg ranks so it's only half bad
for fucks sake csgo
why

I'm just sad they straight up removed four maps that have been in the game for years.
I liked queuing for the Reserve Group maps in Comp a lot, but now they're all gone except Office.

They should've removed office instead, with hallways so tight there's no reason to stop for a second and spray a gun properly. Instead just get a p90 and hold down m1 like there's no tomorrow.
Gunplay like that should really be punished instead of rewarded because everyone is now running sideways and just spraying all over the place hoping for that one headshot to land, which it most of the time actually does.

The original blog post a few months ago said they would remove the least two played maps. I wouldn't doubt Canals was one of them so they just decided to remove all of the Reserve Group maps instead that weren't Canals or dust2. They also kept in Office because Office is too iconic of a map thanks to (maybe?) CS:S and was definitely the most-played Reserve Map (not counting Dust2).
Damnit, I lovd Assault and Italy, especially on solo queue. Hostage maps are so much fun
Now it's just Office...
But they've added agency, finally. Should've done that the first time the map was featured in an operation.
I want Santorini back in some form
I want Santorini back in some form
Santorini fuckin owns and it needs to come back, preferably permanently
I want Santorini back in some form
And season.
I don't play CS:GO as much as I used to, but I'd just like to say that I love the new Dust II.
And season.
Season wasn't well received despite is AMAZING visuals but I think that Season and Santorini would be a much better addition than de_austria and de_shipped.
Main reason for season was something about problems with rotation time and I think wallbanging was hard to do
Remake Tuscan/Mill. Who gives a shit if brute is being an autist with the "rights" to the layout of Tuscan, he doesn't have an actual legal leg to stand on considering that its a blatant ripoff of cpl_mill.

Now that you mention it, yeah I do recall there being issues with rotation time. But still, it was a really fun and good looking map that I really enjoyed playing compared to the rest of the operation at that time. Hopefully they'll rethink and add older operation maps back in that also deserve a second change just like agency did.
season and santorini own
It made me somewhat upset seeing Valve completely remove Dust, Aztec, Vertigo and Militia from the game. Would've been better if they actually kept the maps in the game, especially for playing offline or in lobbies or even on community servers.
Vertigo especially was one of my favourite maps out of the pack, Dust was also a good map and I've played it a fair few times in comps. Aztec I only played once or twice and I got a 1v5 once and for Militia, I only played one comp and my favourite iteration of the map was probably the 1.6 or Condition Zero version which I used to play when I was like 6 or 7 all the time with bots.
Then again I really hope to see a return of these maps, though I assume they'll be reworks or something like that but either way a reworked Dust and Shortdust would be great because they should've done it in line with the Dust 2 rework imo. Much like when they reworked Train and then they reworked Shorttrain with the same style as the rework.

If you want to play them that much then download them off the workshop. The "compatibility version"s are from the last update before they were removed.
You can find all official valve maps here. This includes the removed maps, old operation maps, and even the old versions of train, nuke, inferno and dust II.
Subscribe to them and they'll appear in-game.
Didn't WarOwl post a video saying those didn't work or was that just a short term bug
Didn't WarOwl post a video saying those didn't work or was that just a short term bug
warowl is borderline clinically retarded
the versions on the workshop work completely fine
What's wrong with WarOwl? Sure he's a bit obnoxious at times (now that I think of it, more like ever since he revealed his face..) but his content is usually entertaining and informative enough. His matchmaking academy series is educational enough although I find he sometimes explains things too many times with little variation.

WarOwl made an uninformed video where he couldn't be bothered to do the smallest bit of research to learn how to get the compatibility maps on the workshop, and had to be corrected by our lord and savior wickedplayer

I find that he explains everything so condescendingly and often, wrongly that it's a joke with how high he is held within the reddit community

I assume that the only reason he's being held highly in that community is due to him being quite decent at the game, in my opinion.
My skill level is still not very high personally and I think I've got a long way to go before I get considerably better at the game.
