Soo which airport in London is easiest to get from to arena? (I don't want to take 15 trains and 5 buses to get there)
For me the options are:
Aerlingus: 120 Eur, lands in Heathrow which seems to be the closest.
Ryanair: 40 Eur, lands in Gatwick (Which for some reason google maps is suggesting I take a 10 hour, 35 mile walk)
25 mile difference = 80 eur price difference.
I live right next to Gatwick. You get the train to Redhill, then change to either London Victoria or Bridge to actually get up into London.
£16 for a zone 1 (or 6, whichever is the most zones) travelcard to get up there.
Hey, am I allowed to ask for technical advice here? I'm not sure if this deserves its own thread.
I tried searching google but I couldn't find anyone with the same problem as me.
I'm having some annoying mouse lag/stutter issue. It's most apparent when I'm playing Deathmatch. It usually starts about 5min into playing, my mouse starts stuttering after spawning. It just freezes about 3 times when I move my mouse right after I respawn and then it's all fine until I respawn again.
I tried using another mouse, that didn't fix it. The game itself doesn't freeze, it's just my crosshair.
Any ideas?
What are your launch options?
-freq 77 -high -noforce -noforcemaccel -noforcemparms -noforcemspd -noforcercemspd -nojoy -novid -noheap -nod3d9ex -noaafonts -noipx -console +exec autoexec -threads 2 -cpuCount=2 -exThreads=1 -cl_forcepreload 1 -lv -violence_hblood 0 -mat_queue_mode 2 -m_rawinput 1
A lot of stuff that I've just copied from the internet, trying to improve my fps, since I'm playing on an HP notebook with integrated graphics.
Most of those either don't do anything
You should definitely remove these because they make the game run worse, though I'm 99% sure that cpuCount and exThreads aren't even for Source:
-high -threads 2 -cpuCount=2 -exThreads=1
These don't actually do anything anymore, so you should remove them (I'm not sure half of them were ever valid commands to be honest with you):
-mat_queue_mode 2 -nod3d9ex -noaafonts -noipx -noforce -noforcemaccel -noforcemparms -noforcemspd -noforcercemspd
These are cvars and should be in your autoexec, not launch options:
m_rawinput 1 //dont actually use this, it will make your fps worse and also forces m_filter 1
cl_forcepreload 1
violence_hblood 0 //95% this is deprecated
The only other launch option which I have found to actually give a performance improvement is this, which disables the browser on the main ui as well as motd's:
-no-browser
Here is what's left, which is what I would advise you switch to, you can use -console in place of -novid since they do the same thing:
-novid -nojoy -freq 77 -no-browser +exec autoexec
This might also improve your FPS slightly if you add it to your autoexec:
r_dynamic "0" //more fps, disables dynamic lighting from guns and flashes
Speaking of launch parameters, since I started playing again I noticed my game takes 15 to insane 40 seconds to go back from alt+tab.
I remember I used to alt+tab A LOT faster, maybe 10 seconds max. Any console command or launch parameter that could fix this?
Thanks
It's been confirmed as doing nothing by a couple of the devs on reddit. -dxlevel also doesn't work.
I think that resolved the issue. Thanks.
Also, why are you using -freq 77 on a laptop with 30 FPS? CSGO should autodetect your refresh rate anyway.
I didn't know what half the shit in my launch settings really did so. idk.
By the way, if anyone is coming to the major this september, @Januzuzu created a discord over here for easy communication Discord
We didn't post that already? I could have sworn someone said it was already posted.
Anyone have stories about hitting the gym and gaming? Does it really help you perform better?
I heard e-sports players hit the two hard
There doesn't really seem to be much correlation between the two looking at pros. S1mple is arguably the best player in the world and I don't think he's done any exercise in his life, not to mention his 7 can a day monster habit has given him some nice heart problems.
7 cans a day is a workout on its own considering how much it taxes your body. So yes, go lifting and you'll become a beast at cs. No cardio though, that makes you worse.
This is true but I swear I could recall n0thing talking about how cardio can help you in CS on his stream. I might be wrong though
A nice cardio workout should help your mind stay sharp for longer and stronger arms and shoulders can improve both response time and accuracy. I think a sturdy wrist goes a long way.
I either don't play cs in the morning or until I've lifted something in order to get the blood flowing proper.
It's been proven that exercise reduces fatigue + increases overall happiness, meaning you won't get as frustrated in games etc
this is the only reason why csgo is still being played

yes, truly the only reason
ok
What does this even mean?
we are all just getting bamboozled by plaster's 200iq mega brain
Cus yall suck and cant keep this place even a tiny bit interesting
Not surprising why people think this game is boring
HLTV is literally oify but for cs.
im not sure how you want us to compete with that tbh
bro i was joking, if anything i also was trying to keep this place a little bit more interesting. There's a reason why I browse HLTV lol
The more I play competetive, the more I really, really want Valve to hand out VAC bans to anyone who quits in competetive matches, or at the very least makes bots not mentally retarded.
Their excuse of, "We know it happens, but we cannot fix it ; ~ ; " needs to die.
Having played a stupid amount of cs, I've had to leave games for reasons I could not control (for instance an unannounced fire drill in my university halls of residence last year). There's a reason the bans scale up and it's because even doing everything you can, power cuts, fires, family emergencies etc all happen and whilst rare just straight up permabanning for leaving is ridiculous. That said scaling up past one week bans might make sense considering that if you're abandoning that often you're doing something wrong.
I got votekicked for going to the door to pay for pizza delivery literally 20 seconds I could still buy that round
