Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Chat thread: new thread on LAN? i arent think that
anyone here checking out Counter-Strike: Classic Offensive? just played a couple rounds on one of the only servers running yet and it felt pretty good. can't say it felt like true 1.6, but then again the ModDB page doesn't advertise it as such, merely trying to find the best balance between the new and old game
Classic Offensive is brilliant. I tried it for a short while, but the way you connect to servers at the moment isn't too good at the moment and playing with friends (other than in lobbies) probably won't be easy to do right now. When their new queuing system is made then I think it'll be a lot better hoping the mod doesn't die short-lived like most of the other mods.
I want old Nuke, Train and Tuscan (possibly even CPL Mill) back so bad though.
Another thing I want is Tuscan for the next operation, that'd be pretty cool to see :D
you cant even remove it on win10
lmfao there is no such thing as aero on windows 10. what the fuck are you talking about

I love the way they brought back the MP5 and made it good again. The UI is still rough around the edges but I had fun playing a few rounds yesterday. Hoping it catches on, would be a fun mod
Just ended a huge rant on the tec-9, then this happens

Figured out how to play that good again. Just focus really hard, force myself into a damn good mood, be hydrated, and alert.
That, and keep my face extremely close to my screen and crosshair.
That, and keep my face extremely close to my screen and crosshair.
Who needs eyes when you have kills
That, and keep my face extremely close to my screen and crosshair.
Man, I started noticing this lately. But this is the only way I can be good at a game. That really sucks, man.

Do you think maybe a bigger monitor would help? I feel like that'd provide the same effect as a closer distance but you'd be further away.

Doesn't provide the same effect. It's about your proximity to the fragging, not the apparent size.

The speed of light wont be fast enough to reach your eye though. Think about the milliseconds that you waste with that!!"
I'm gonna turn all griefers into cucks
what
The speed of light wont be fast enough to reach your eye though. Think about the milliseconds that you waste with that!!"
I'm getting noticeable input delay from not being close enough to the monitor!
Don't you love it when you're gn1 and the enemy can consistantly shoot through the crack in B doors from CT without fail?
crouchjump across and at worst they'll leg you
usually not worth challenging that from in site since its a hard angle and you're just giving away an unnecessary chance to get fragged
[editline]27th December 2016[/editline]
alternatively smoke it before you cross, and if there is someone close then stick a fire in window too
dont smoke window though since the cts can just popflash through it and jump through the smoke safely
I wonder how much it'd fuck the balance of the map if they added some stairs in CT spawn that took you to a window above the doors. I imagine it'd make it a lot harder for Ts to get early awp picks since they'd have to check both positions to make sure they're not gonna get shot.
[editline]a[/editline]
Are there any other maps where the CTs are forced to cross the Terrorists' direct line of sight to get to the site? I know that's not the case for Nuke, Inferno, Cobble, Train, Cache, Mirage, and I'm pretty sure even Dust1. It's an interesting design choice that I don't think is used anywhere else.

There was one which was far worse for CTS in operation pheonix, it was something like seaside , but dust 2 is unusual for giving mid control to the terrorists.
I'm tearing up right now. IT ONLY TOOK ME A YEAR.

Seaside was the main offender.

Anyone here wanna play ESL? Must be skilled and have the appropriate attitude. Hit me up on steam. (Also, EU only). Must be prepared to break a few mice dealing with wire.

A really big 4:3 monitor would help. The reason a lot of pros play 4:3 on a 16:9 monitor is because it stretches the models out so players seem bigger even when far away, or at least that's my understanding of it.

alternatively: don't play dust2

that map is like a flytrap for people in lower ranks. start playing other maps and you'll have a way better shot.

Why would a 4:3 monitor change how playing feels at all? If you're playing 4:3 on a 4:3 monitor, it's just gonna look normal, if you play 16:9 on 4:3 monitor it's gonna be letterboxed on top and bottom. You yourself noted that it's 4:3 on 16:9, not 4:3 on 4:3. It looks normal on a CRT because it's not fixed pixel, it scans every image in from top left to bottom right and only scans in as much of the image as it needs to, this allows every resolution to be native, granted you will get letterboxing on 16:10 or 16:9, while an LCD screen has pixels that cannot be moved and a native resolution.
The only advantages you will get from a CRT is virtually zero input lag, up to 4ms due to phosphors, and a pretty high refresh rate at low cost, the refresh rate scales up as the resolution scales down, but even then there's some newer TN panels sold by BenQ or ASUS that can do 240Hz at native res, as far as I'm aware there's not a single CRT that can do 240Hz at highest res supported by the monitor, older Iiyama CRTs like the 454, 514, or 512 can do 180-200 though.
You shouldn't buy a CRT unless you know what you're doing though, it's entirely within the range of possibility that you will kill yourself if you mess with it.
i want an iiyama prolite 454 or 514
i want the nutty refresh

this is one of the dumbest posts i've read in a while fwiw
unless you get one of the really rare 16:9 crts you can't play stretched on them
and most of those can't even pull crazy refresh rates
and you'll kill yourself trying to fix the yokes
Stop making me feel guilty about 4:3 stretched

I just want a 144hz monitor don't care about resolution just want that nutty refresh
stretched is the best
stretched is good when youre holding pixel angles, because it widens it little. sure models seem faster but you get used to it
Prime is good, but every so often you just get people who are Molotov the corner you're in and then prefire around the corner with an autosniper through their own smoke style cheating
Usually you motolov common spots and then shoot it because the reason you threw the molly was to lure someone out???
Usually you motolov common spots and then shoot it because the reason you threw the molly was to lure someone out???
Right, but they were doing any combination of the 3 and always chose the exact right spot. It's possible it was one hell of a game and I was quite tilted - the only calls one of my team mates made were flaming/calling my positions if I was last alive (20 seconds into the round, and also obviously not the times I'm talking about). That said the other team knew far too much about what was on the other side of walls/smokes.
Found out another key thing to playing successfully. Stay calm and collected. Nothing has helped me more than that, once I figured that out.
I played a prime game on train against a guy who tracked heads around corners and still missed a few months ago. watching the replay was the most fun i've had in a good while
Outside of rainbow6, there's no other game I play where shit like this can happen daily.

or it was just the model confused me, I don't know anymore.

I also started enjoying aim servers more, but it gets boring just sitting in arena 1 like 90% of the time. Any alternative server where people are actually trying?
