You guys think Valve is gonna remake and push any maps after they add Inferno to Active Duty? I mean they were ballsy enough to do it with Cobblestone and they essentially did the same thing with Overpass except it was an original map, but all we've got left is Dust, Aztec, and Vertigo.
well they thought that newke was a good idea so anything is possible
[vid]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/104052106/vids/20161230.mp4[/vid]
Someone in this thread did this exact same thing (I couldn't find who you were, sorry). I decided to go for this randomly and nailed it first try. Sorry for the bad quality, I couldn't bear dicking around in OBS studio longer.
Thats gotta be fixed...
This is a secret to everyone.
So I'm on an extremely limited internet connection, I'm talking 64kbps download cap kind of limited, and Steam does this when I launch CS:GO: 50kbps wouldn't matter to any other type of connection, but this completely fucks me and launches my ping even on a server that has like 25 normally to 500. No other multiplayer game on Steam does this, KF2, Terraria, Dark Souls 3 to give varied examples. How do I stop CS:GO from killing the internet when it launches itself?
Is steam downloading updates or syncing files? If so there's a setting to stop steam downloading updates while playing. In the end though 40kbps is tiny so you might not be able to stop it.
Dust2, cbble.
FTFY
Unlikely to see cbble get many changes other than small touchups (to be fair, same can be said for cache). Dust 2 is the only map I see as being an inevitability of being removed because it is starting to get old and dated, especially compared to the aesthetic of even not all that new maps such as mirage.

It's not just 40kbps anyways, tried again last night after forcing it to update whatever workshop files it was dling and it went up to 60. Sucks that I can't actually play. Rip I guess
The thing cache needs is optimisation. I shouldn't be just managing to get 150fps (minimum) with an i7 2600k @4.2GHz and a 1080.
I'm glad csgo still does more than 120fps
I still get 300+ on most maps on a gtx 970

I get 200+ most of the times on all maps except the really new and heavy ones like nuke and cbble with a 1060 and a 6600k, and I think that isn't enough
Dust2, cache.
Neither of those really need a remake for anything more than visuals at best (and I'm not even really saying that they need one. It's not like Nuke or Inferno (and presumably Train, never was much a fan of that map so I dunno) where it still looked a lot like the map from CS:S) and they're both already active duty maps. I've played Aztec maybe four times in my life so I don't know about that one, but Dust and Vertigo have some serious balancing issues. [editline]a[/editline] Personally I'd like to see either some more original maps a la Overpass or some remakes of maps from older CS games. [editline]a[/editline] If they do decide to redo Dust 2 it'd be pretty much guaranteed that we'd get the yellow back if Nuke and especially Inferno are anything to go by. They seem to be going for a clean, bright, color palette that's easy to see enemies on.

Maybe we'll see some remakes of older maps such as aztec, they did it to cobble, but I'm not holding my breath.
Vertigo desperately needs a remake
Question is, what does it need? What should be kept, what's worth salvaging, and what needs to go? I made an attempt at renovating it, but surprise surprise, didn't get much of a response. Even in the gldsrc era it was a map that was hard to take seriously. It'd be easier to design an entirely new layout and recycle the theme instead.
That's pretty much what they did with cobble though
True, but they had the advantage of pro testing and feedback throughout the development of it. The first release of Cobblestone was very similar to the version we had in CSS, but had a few new additions.
Something is seriously wrong with your pc, I got a 670 and I capped my frames at 130 which it easily holds on any official map
Nah, it's not the gfx card seen as I recently went from a 760 to a 1080 and got 0 fps in csgo off it because csgo doesn't really rely on the gpu once it's half decent, it's mainly cpu limited - overclocking gave me 60ish fps on most maps. To be clear the fps hits over 300 in most other maps, but drops towards 144 fps occasionally, enough to matter on specifically cache. Meanwhile gta runs at 100+ fps on high settings. That said I plan on clean installing everything in a short while.
What are your launch options? They're probably fucked.
What are your launch options? They're probably fucked.
Very few, just -novid rn. I sorta need to clean stuff up but cache causes FPS drops for my cousin who's obsessive about config's lol.
Dumb map I'm putting together that should be on my server tomorrow if anyone wants to play It works sort of like bomb defusal, except instead of planting a bomb, the Terrorists have to destroy some factory buildings.
I did 84 in 5 direct deagle hits. I literally do not understand how the other guy didn't die.
could be worse, could've been 5 direct ak hits from very close that in total only did 80 damage
[t]http://i.cubeupload.com/vPLGQ4.jpg[/t] :why:
What are we looking at exactly
My assumptions: "The ranks aren't all the same" "I 30 bombed and we didn't win"
