Does it take a noticeable toll on performance to record a POV demo?
All my demos look like this and it's pissing me off

afaik you shouldn't ever notice a difference between recording povs and not. it should hardly require anything from your cpu to do.
I find this whole discussion on cheats to be thoroughly depressing.
Just let us play the game without having to worry about being seen through walls or insta-headshotted from across a map ;_;
Unfortunately that's just the way the cookie crumbles... and has been crumbling for years upon years.
People who lack skill need a way to develop it, and to them it's just a download and some $ away.

Valve teasing the D2 remake? (Footage from CSGO dev team)
https://clips.twitch.tv/eleaguetv/WanderingBaboonKappaWealth
Also this was spotted on a Dev's pc as the csgo icon
[t]http://i.imgur.com/ZRN6NLQ.png[/t]
Which currently isnt the CSGO icon on the normal game.
[t]http://media.steampowered.com/apps/csgo/blog/images/competitive_logo_large.png[/t] high res of that icon
Now obviously this means nothing but it is interesting as the icons been used on blog posts and such but never related to the game.
An icon for the internal branch of the game I'd assume.
[t]https://i.imgur.com/hxpaN2P.jpg[/t]
However that's clearly the current dust2 (between double doors and T spawn), while the other image is what inspired the palace in de_mirage.

I'm not saying its the d2 remake itself as thats obviously current D2 but it could be them teasing. It's also entirely possible that they're going for a more mirage style look (but we all know mirage is dust3 anyway)
That image shows dust 1 t spawn if memory doesn't completely with with me
Since no one posted it here, here is an amazing ace by Xantares

Hey since we're discussing aces...
An icon for the internal branch of the game I'd assume.
Or just changed icon in the shortcut. I used to do that for almost all my programs on my taskbar.

Nah it's the area outside a long doors, like someone said before
I'm sad that CS:S is overrun by anti-fun scrubs who hate meaningful conversation, because I enjoy it more than CS:GO
Only reason CSS is worth playing is that surf actually works properly on it.

it's possible somebody could enjoy the gameplay more as well. though where you would find an example of such a person is beyond me. I've been searching far and wide for years for somebody that enjoys css more than csgo, not a single result. i keep a journal and everything.
CSS movement just feels like it was meant for surf rather than actually being a CS game. Sliding is a great mechanic for surf, but terrible everywhere else.
I actually love how css guns feel - never really played it competitively tho so I can't tell
Also csgos art style is kinda weird, I always feel like it tries to be a comic or something without going full tf2

I mean look at the new ct player models
The new ct player models are nothing compared to hitbox update ct's with the lubed up shaders.
I have 1 favorite gungame server I keep CS:S installed for. The mods are just perfect.

I enjoy CS:S more than CS:GO - but I'm not sure if it's due to how long I've been playing it, 2004 I started and I find the gunplay in CS:S better and there's not so much visual clutter, everything feels right when I'm playing it, everything is visible to me from the get go, and I feel like CS:S has a lot less RNG than CS:GO.
Plus I can't get over how fucking OP CS:S's deag is.
I really dislike how the player models in CS:GO match too much with the walls and the environment, which is something I thought they'd avoid. I usually misunderstand where someone is or isn't because of it. In CSS it was less of a problem because they have a little bit more color to them. Though it makes sense in a real life situation, it doesn't feel well to experience in a game.

... me.
I love CSS. Loved how easily you could get headshots in that game, 14 year old me learning the game and learning how to spam AD was cancer of the universe.
1.6 was better than Source
Just to add to the cheating conversation: I've literally never cheated in a video game, ever. I don't see the point.
It just takes the whole fun thing out of it, no? That the things you're achieving aren't your own.
The cheating mindset baffles me.
Once you've analyzed the world around you well enough, you might realize that some people (if not all, quite honestly) like to live in their own delusions. Cheating in a video game is one of them. Though just the enjoyment of being a dickhead while cheating is also a good enough reason for some.

I'm not sure I agree with you on this. If you judge by the newest model and the newest map (inferno and the TF2 CTs) The map is really washed out and bright in its colour scheme while the player models have very dark colors and in general more saturation to them. I genuinely think the new inferno is really well designed in terms of visibility, same with the new nuke.(still can't enjoy inferno though, something about having to wait for mid/banana smoke 13/15 rounds as terrorist just piss me off endlessly.)
By the way, a short contribution to the cheating conversation; as someone who has experimented with it in a multitude of games, I can say that the motivation depends on the game. The most common one is simply "fun", because some people do get joy out of it-- whether or not it's the experiencing of the game at the theoretical maximum mechanical skill level, the "ezmode" stomping, or enjoying other people's misery, there are people who enjoy cheating. Some people do it to "get back" at others (i.e. cheating in response to another cheater, cheating on community servers you perceive to be "bad") or as a statement (cheating to disrupt matchmaking, stupid shit like that), neither of which are particularly great reasons but are common (especially in Garry's Mod)
Other than that, it's game-specific reasons: for CS:GO or other e-sport games, it's matchmaking e-peen/boosting: for Garry's Mod, it's a common coding exercise due to the penalty-free nature of cheating (same applies to old games like 1.6): we could go on forever.
If you're wondering about my own reasoning-- and I did it in all three major CS titles, TF2, and Garry's Mod, for reference-- it was for fun, because I enjoyed watching the game play itself and I got a kick out of trolling.
the only correct reason for cheating is "im a cunt"
like if you admit to being an asshole i dont really care
its when you closet or pretend that theres some deep meaning as to why you ~NEED~ to do it that it gets retarded

oh yeah it's dickish
but it's also fun so w/e
Pro tip: don't try to import a replica CSGO butterfly knife into the UK

My internet is being totally shit at the moment.
I can't get through a competitive match without disconnecting at least once (but usually twice) in a game. I'm glad that you can reconnect again once my connection is back online, but damn, it's annoying missing 2-4 rounds a game.
