I just want to be as cool as FlyingDemoman
cannon-jumping so dangerous, though. You just don't have the hit points to use it often enough. I honestly don't see the advantage over just using a sticky.
if you're cannon jumping without a shield you're using it wrong
if you're cannon jumping without a shield you're using it wrong
I use the Tide Turner, maybe that's my problem.
Shields do jack shit to self damage.
Finding the Unusual I wanted to get for a close friend of mine on the Steam Community Market for cheap-ish. It was clean as well!
Shields do jack shit to self damage.
Correct but it lets you jump without stickies, and if you're good you can trimp midair to avoid fall damage or find a healthpack
you need ground to trimp so logically you're gonna take fall dmg
you need ground to trimp so logically you're gonna take fall dmg
you can trimp onto stairs/ledges while falling, negating fall damage. It's very situational depending on were you're falling, but really fun on places like lakeside where you can cannon jump out of spawn to the mid stairs, trimp off that staircase and land at their spawn.
Played valve mountainlab, the other team was all engies. Like really they had like 3 guys who weren't, consistently, all the way till mapchange. Made for an interesting game. There was me, all kinds of classes, a guy who loved moaning about sentries in chat, mostly spy, and a medic. Medic's name was Syphilis. I find that important to point out. So me as Pyro with my Syphilis went against 3 sentries placed next to each other in front of RED base, in such a way that you could simply stand on B right out of their range. So with the help of Syphilis, I approach the sentries, letting the knockback push me just out of their range as all 3 of them shoot their rockets at me. Reflect all rockets in a single airblast, 2 sentries down instantly (euphoria too strong for screencap, just believe me you guys). 3rd engineer picks up his sentry and runs for his life as I get headshot. Syphilis all enthusiastic. Rage guy mumbles something about dumbest sentry placement he's ever seen in his life. I'd have to agree. A bit after that they set up in the corridor leading straight to last cap. 3 sentries again, and, I shit you not, 5 dispensers, right along the wall, looked like an arcade or sumshit. You would not believe how good it felt to bring them down as demo. We spent the rest of the match fighting sentries, me, Syphilis, and rage guy, me and the latter comparing buildings destroyed (75 for me by mapchange). It was tough as they kept re-building but in the end we won most rounds. Sadly, by the end whiney dude lost his mind questioning the entire server's desire to play the game rather than letting sentries do it for them and left. May he find peace and hats. As for Syphilis, we left together when it was all over, both having our fill. A legend says he's still out there, surprising random strangers with his curious combination of his name and his class of choice. As for me, I'm here to tell the tale of our spoils, for future generations, for our children, as it happened and deserves to be told. tl;dr destroying sentries in lame spots is fun

Wtf is trimping?
Wtf is trimping?
Pretty sure he means the thing where you land on a slope that you slide gently down; it resets fall damage.
I thought "trimping" was charging into an angled surface while ducking and going super high because of gaben's physics like on 2fort bridge or the degroot blu rock
I thought "trimping" was charging into an angled surface while ducking and going super high because of gaben's physics like on 2fort bridge or the degroot blu rock
the trimping i'm referring too is when you're perpindicular with the ledge and you rotate 90 degrees as you charge, giving you a massive amount of more area covered. going straight into a ledge will yield fall damage and looking like an idiot
don't forget swords
Wtf is trimping?
Trimping is like the practical application of surfing.
Trimping is surfing or sliding off ramps to increase mobility. It's only used by demoknights nowadays.
Trimping is surfing or sliding off ramps to increase mobility. It's only used by demoknights nowadays.
as opposed to the past when every class used it??
Yeah i miss the good old days when you saw Heavies flying into stairs at mach 5 and launching themselves across the map
Trimping is surfing or sliding off ramps to increase mobility. It's only used by demoknights nowadays.
I'm pretty sure every roamer out there uses it too as a Core element in their Mobility.
as opposed to the past when every class used it??
TFC Medics and Scouts used it extensively. Fortress Forever sorta embraced the glitch and made it easier to do, similar to Tribes.
Yeah i miss the good old days when you saw Heavies flying into stairs at mach 5 and launching themselves across the map
Heavy needed the tide turner more than demoman. No one would have ever complained about the pre nerf version of it. Sad truth.
3 AM, minding my own business, listening to a podcast, when suddenly I got an ad alert. And then this happens. [t]http://i.imgur.com/xSITzD5.png[/t] I dunno, there's just something that makes me feel really proud about how easily I can spot idiot scammers nowadays trying to steal my TF2 stuff. (also yes he totally unfriended me literally milliseconds after I sent the last message)
This made me laugh for a good 3 minutes.
You know what i love? Baiting spies into stair stabbing, and just sitting down and watching as they fly ass first onto my ubersaw, bonus points if they get mad afterwards. One guy said "You didn't fucking deserve that". For what? Daring to know what such a masterspy like you is up to? How could i be so brash
It's even better if you're a spy. That's like how the fuck am I supposed not to see that coming.
I just love TF2. It's still a hugely populated, fun, FPS with a nice community (generally) that's been going on for 8 years of constant free updates. Even if a shitstorm gets stirred every one in a while, I can just jump onto a valve server or a 24/7 turbine server and get away from the complaints and play a legitimately fun game.
It's even better if you're a spy. That's like how the fuck am I supposed not to see that coming.
Everytime I'm chasing a Spy and he goes up stair I always wait at the bottom just to be sure if he's gonna do a Stairstab. It kinda grew it on me as I played this game.
